Give bad SAAB driver, only? I drove end of the nineties with my SAAB 9000 Aero (4 liga engine, 16 Valve, Mitsubishi fresh air water cooler, cermaic turbo, 1,5 bar air pressure, 225 hp). All was original. I did a compitation with a Porsche 911 turbo 3.6 (6 Zylinder, Boxereninge, fresh air front turbo, 360 hp)on the german highway from Munich to Stuttgart. My SAAB was in all speed situations faster than the Porsche. Outtaked was the highest car speed. Max. 255 kilometer in a hour drove my SAAB, until the electronic limiter stopped the top speed.
Heya, I've got two questions: 1) How do you mount your camera? 2) How come your throttle position maxes out at 87%? Also, great vids. Looks like real fun. :)
Excellent video, enjoyed every minute of it. I've got 2008 Hirsched 9-3 SC with 2.0T engine, and really dreaming about going to Nurburgring some day. Love my Sport Combi and not going to change it to another car in the future.
In the summer of 2013, it is my turn to spank saab 9-3 on the ring. Will be hard driving hope I get the car home in one piece. ;-) Mine is not original ... Driving much race track before but the ring is the dream.
the best saab engine is the 2.3T that comes in the 9-5 aero from 1999-2009, the viggen has it too but detuned in comparisson, especially the 06-09 9-5s
Me like :) I have a Saab 9-3 Aero 2.8T V6 2006, Maptune stage 1 (290hp 460nm) Now when i seen your vidz i wanna out on that track :D Really good vidz and driving :)
The map is wonderful, i have a maptuner box. So i can install stage 1 or original, it takes 1-2 min :) No problem with the clutch. Here in sweden i paid 6400:- (Around 900-1000 dollars) Easy worth the money :D
I like the aero it's just very dull to drive, the engine is especially dull and just seems uninterested to rev. still it's a lovely comfortable car to drive and feels very safe.
A tune sorts that nicely - mine was remapped with a JZW Stage 1 tune, bringing the power up to 330bhp/550nm and it was a beast after. Much more enjoyable to drive. I really recommend a remap for this engine because it makes it completely different.
+Jaco2k thank you for your message. it was something I was considering so now I think I'll go for it as you recommend makes it so much better. which company did you use? thanks
+snouty “the snout” snouterson I used JZW tunning. there is also vTuner and then a few more established companies like BSR and Maptune. I don't know about BCM since they are newer on the market. Most seem to be divided between JZW and vTuner ;) - it seems both are great.
perhaps you are right i was thinking of the 2.0t aero(i happen to own one);p in my car its faster to go to about 6400 rpm i assumed that you had a full pressure turbo excuse me for my ignorance!!!!
I agree with you I really WISH I could do that South Africa has no tracks that you can go race on it sucks....I have no place to push my Saab without endangering public or getting arrested....
I live in Finland (where there are also tracks) and I drove to Germany just for the experience. You can also just fly there, rent a car at the track and enjoy the experience - look for Apex Nürburgring, for instance - even if not with the Saab, you can still know what it feels like. No video makes justice to the actual experience ;) ...it is like a 22km rollercoaster :)
You say "Continental SportContact 5 225/45/18 tires (What a crap tire... will never buy Continental again!)" Can you tell me what you will buy in the future pls????
When I wrote that I didn't realize you had passengers in the car, I was alone. It was a sunny day, the 416 to Ottawa and we we're just having a little fun. When the traffic got over and we had clear lane, he'd go and I sometimes had to check up coming out third and several times we made it 238kph before traffic again. I loved that 9000, she died of old age, just too many little things, too many times. Sad face. Cheers bud good drive btw.
i dont understand why you keep changing gears at 5500 rpm its faster if you change gears around 6300 to 6700 because you have a high pressure turbo that works better at higher rpm
Cóż to za jazda? W trakcie wyścigów na zakręcie 50, a na prostej ledwie 140/150..? Przecież ja bym Cie tu zwyczajną Astrą z silnikiem 1.6 wyprzedził! Pozdrawiam
yeah just looked on torque stats dot com and compared the two, both 2006 saab beats it to 100 mph by 2 secs in a not alf bad 16 secs clio is lighter at 1240kg
The Clio would have been passed on the fly, it has much less hp, I think you should stop using the arrow continuously and press more on the accelerator
@@Jaco2k I have the same car and a clio has no chance, so you weren't driving your best. I know the rules of the ring but on the track I look first of all in front and I only think about setting my trajectories, whoever comes from behind can pass if they have space but I certainly don't spend time slowing down and moving by putting the arrow, I enter the track to run not to give way to others, it is not a criticism of you but of how everything is handled by everyone in the ring, if I pay I think first of all about driving and not letting others pass, if they can they pass otherwise they are behind and wait .
@@andreasimonepiazza4313 the ring is not your average track, hence "track rules" don't really apply there. Using blinkers is.for your own safety and for others too. The particular car was the wagon version and it was quite heavy with fairly crap tires - racing for a corner on the inside to reach it at speed and pose a risk for me and for the Clio driver would have 0 value for anyone involved. Could I have been much faster? You bet I could - but my objective was to come back home with me and the car in one piece ;) Fair play on the comments, but honestly, pushing too far and taking that type of risks is only sooner or later gonna get you into an expensive crash.
@@Jaco2k In fact, I said you could have done better, but I understand what you mean, I had those tires as original equipment and I confirm they are not the best. The standard set-up is certainly not on the track but there are many fast sections where you can still push. On the contrary, I find it less safe to continue driving looking behind instead of concentrating in front, it is up to those coming from behind to behave accordingly, it is not a race and if there is traffic they have to slow down, everyone pays to turn and cannot have fun only some thinking that everyone else must give way. If there is space I can also give way but if I am setting a curve I honestly don't care who is behind, I focus on my driving and who is behind stays behind.
I was mostly interested in making it back in one piece - one of the advices I read was to be realistic about where my limits were and then drive about 20% under those limits, which is what I did. I am pretty sure I could have been faster, but the risk and potential consequences are just not worth it ;)

saab is a life style
Also, I'm here because of your awesome review!
I've heard that a lot of 'ring cars are using Federal 595RS-Rs for their time on the inedible track.
MAPTUN MAPTUN :) My 9 K 2,3 T Aero Maptun st 7 would love it there :)
Superb 👍🏽
Well then! Thank you very much for the review, video and advice!
I want it to be summer now! I want track days!
Yep, I would prefer to have a V6 too, but don't want to sell my car and find another used SC. I like the Ice Blue color and option set too much.

well, that clio was quite fast ;) how many horsepower do they have? :)
Exactly what I was thinking. 😉
Continental SportContact 5 a crappy tire?!!! why?
Just 12 seconds slower than a ford transit diesel van 😁

Goodyear Eagle F1... that's what I have and they are great, very good grip
Hmm, IDK dude I had a stock 1990 9000 and did 240kph in short bursts racing a BMW roadster. You're at Nurburgring man , use it!
Mike kirock great for you :)

i got the 9-3 i wish i got the aero 😔
I loved my Aero - it is long gone, but it is a car I still love.
Mind you, it was the V6, so a bit different experience from the 2.0 Aero.

✌️👏👏👏
Stock 250 Bhp?? Not 250 HP? just curious
250hp stock, 254ish bhp,
the 2.3T on the cars like the 9-5 aero and viggen makes the same power, but has a much better power and torque curve
Full throttle only 87%
It is a problem with the ECU in the car - it reports wrongly via OBD.
You can be sure it was 100% ;)
Driver scared push it dude.......But at least you are there and I'm not...You do drive well just go little faster

Полное разочарование. Даже за 200 на прямой не уехал.
