      It looks superb, and probably much nicer on a strap than bracelet. I've just bough my first Grand Seiko - an SBGA407. Love it.

    Strictly speaking Daini and Suwa were not quite clear cut as dedicated KS and GS factories Both factories at the time had produced watches for both lines. The famed 44GS has the mark of Daini, similarly the 45KS and 45GS were made in Daini and shared the legendary 45 series caliber. Similarly the 56KS and 56GS were made by Suwa. Post 80’s Seiko reorganizations make it a little tougher to track, but its regarded that the Daini calibers, particularly the 52 caliber that was housed in the 52KS was what played a huge part in the current high end mechanical Seiko (I believe that was the basis of the modern day 4S and 6L movements).
    Anyways, I absolutely adore the modern reinterpretation of the 62GS case! Have the Seiko branded SBGA125, and see a lot of what you’ve said in the video. Wear it in good health!

  • @leyay7540
    @leyay7540 4 года назад +5

    Honestly the 62GS has never been my favorite design so far, but seems you start to change my mind...
    As a Spring Drive owner for more than three years, I can confidently agree that Spring Drive is the best daily watch because of its super high performance in every way. So you just need to choose a design you love then boom... your long time keeper has come.

    Hi I’m on the fence on getting the 415. How’s the ziratsu finish holding up on your daily wear? Does it get scratched up easily? Thanks for the awesome cinematography keep up the great work!

    • @watchcollectingstrategy
      @watchcollectingstrategy  4 года назад +5

      It does scratch very easily, unfortunately the downfall of mirror like polishing

    • @dwillia6351
      @dwillia6351 3 года назад

      @@watchcollectingstrategy should I be deterred from buying it because of the easily scratched titanium? I have a Rolex date just 41 and the spiderweb scratches on the polished parts don’t bother me very much.

      @Eli-pf4qb 2 года назад

      For what it's worth, I owned the SBGA413 (spring version of this watch) for about a year, and with regular, but careful, wear, the only scratches I had were on the lugs and bracelet. And I changed the bracelet for a strap pretty frequently, which is what I'm guessing caused them.
      You've got to be a little careful about it (it's a huge investment, that goes without saying), but I found it to hold up pretty well.

    It’s not quartz and mechanical movement, which is known as Kinetic movement. Spring drive is just that - a clutch regulates how fast main spring can unwind. Clutch decides how fast or slow to unwind based on electric current unwinding generates against quartz oscillator, but unlike kinetic, where self winding rotor generates current and stores it in capacitor that powers traditional quarts movement, in spring drive it’s magnetic pressure system to slow or speed down the unwind, and time movement is actually mechanical

    The bad thing about GS is that they often produce some of their good watches only for specific region and/or produce way too many limited editions. GS should stop this annoying practices and focus on making fewer models that are refined in design over the years and be made available for anyone globally.

      I'm not sure if that's a bad thing for me. At least it's not like Omega where their limited editions are produced in the several thousands. I also think most of their limited editions are priced well. I like the idea of being able to wear a watch that you won't likely run into someone else wearing. If you want that then there's Rolex for that.

    • @poibbn
      @poibbn 4 года назад +1

      I think their limited editions are pretty much all stunners, in reasonable quantities, at reasonable prices, and not just extremely similar to others like Panerai. The constant variety hasn't resulted them in producing subpar pieces, they're always incredible

    For a long term review I feel this is way, emphasize, way too short....so much detail in terms of technical elements (lug to lug, height, lug length, water resistance, etc etc) as well as servicing costs, or purchase price. Also wrist shots. I could just keep naming things. Love your channel and this piece, just giving an opinion on content!
