It's such an experience with PUTRI ARIANI a 17years Old lady from Indonesia🇮🇩, She deserves the GOLDEN BUZZER because she is so passionate and confident about herself. She is truly endowed and she is a gifted Girl. She is definitely an Angel. Viral in youtube 32 M - 8 days ago
Firstly your cover of Wicked Games is pretty darn good! DOROTHY turned my Top 5 favorite female singers list to 6!! WHAT'S COMING TO ME unplugged is even higher beltyer!! You are the only Reaction person I know of that's viewed her⁉️ You should check out the Official video also! BETH Keep Roaring!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
Finally, Dorothy (Martin) is someone I haven't seen more reactions to. She has an incredible voice. There are some great live videos out there of her singing.
I disagree.... , there's plenty of listeners. If there wasn't, then the greater percentage of all newer rock/metal bands wouldn't be fronted by women. Not to mention the influx of the many "all female bands" that have come out in recent years and become successful. The majority of my favorite bands (at present) are all fronted by women. There are and will be plenty of listeners for the ladies of rock.
Now if Dorothy and TPR wore on tour together, 1. it be an awesome show and 2. on a personal note it would finish my top 5 must see bands already seen EV, Halestorm and New Years Day among others but those 2 have eluded me
I discovered Dorothy in 2016 - they opened for Halestorm. We were all “What’s a Dorothy???” A few minutes into their set, that changed to “OH. THAT’S DOROTHY!!! Got it.” Needless to say that voice blew me away! Not only does she have great range & resonance, make no mistake: that lady has some SERIOUS vocal stamina. BTW, I’m waiting for more covers or originals from you. I *loved* your Wicked Game!
Same. She came onto the stage with no shoes with a long black lacy flowing robe, her curls flying wildly behind her, and I had feelings. Lots of feelings. I was second from back row and I knew I had found another favorite.
I've been following Dorothy since just after their first album. Simply amazing. Extremely underrated and with exceptional skill and range. Going from clarity to clarity with each new song and album.
Dorothy is something else. Power personified. This song is about addiction, the cost she paid and taking back control of her own life. It is crime to music that she not a household name. Yet.
I’ve been following Dorothy for about five years now, and they never fail to amaze. Dorothy Martin’s voice is so unique and full, with such little effort. And her growl is so dirty, it still makes my skin crawl with excitement.
Ann Wilson of Heart. That was my first comparison the very first time I heard Dorothy. Which was this song on the radio last summer. Stopped me cold in my tracks to finish listening to it and wrote myself a note about who the artist was so I could check them out later. I know her voice is not the same at all really - but the fullness of it. The power. It's Ann.
So excited to see this! Dorothy is the best and it was great to see you rave about her voice. Please don't stop with this one song. There's another song from this same session, What's Coming to Me that I think is even better. Awesome reaction!
Dang wished I seen this when you posted! So in no order my top 5 favorite female singers are; Ann Wilson, Carly Simon, Linda Ronstadt, Barbara Streisand and Karen Carpenter AND this lady DOROTHY makes #6!! Been recommending her to other vocal coach reactors and I you are one of two I know of! Awesome!! Good job on your Chris Isaak cover BTW!!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
I texted in this request. I told her to check out Rest in Peace and What's Coming to Me. So many great songs to choose from. It was hard for me to narrow down my request list!
I knew this was going to be good when I saw it pop up. Different songs showcase different abilities so there is a lot more to discover. But this version of Rest in Peace is the best for a first vocal reaction IMO. Beth - you are right when you say her voice is unique and I get the "female Chris Cornell" analogy. This is a rabbit hole worth exploring.
Thank you, Beth, for posting this! I've been checking your channel every day in anticipation for my Dorothy request! Great reaction! You clearly feel the same way I do about her. I think she is SOOOO underrated! A powerhouse vocalist. Love her dark bluesy vibe. She has so many great songs! 😊
What an Absolutely Amazing Voice Dorothy has. If you think this is Amazing, check out Dorothy Unplugged singing “What’s Coming To Me”. Powerful Vocals is an “Understatement” Dorothy’s Voice on it is Legit Out of This World 💯🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for this video. I can’t believe I had never heard of this band. I listened to several of their songs after watching this video and now find myself wanting to go to one of their concerts.
Great to see Dorothy on here, just fantastic. Keep hoping they will come over to the UK (she did a track with Slash so hoping she would do a support slot for his upcoming tour........but alas, not) Some great tracks to check are Whats coming to me from this unplugged session, or flawless
Long time subscriber to dorothy, she has an amazing voice and I love all the tracks they have released. Hopefully more people get to see them they definitely deserve a hell of a lot more recognition Awesome band
I've seen Dorothy live twice now and will see them again the next time they are in the area. I've seen many bands where you can barely hear the singer but her voice just cuts through the music.
I have heard Dorothy compared to Janis Joplin and Grace Slick before… I’m not a vocal coach but is have ears and neither Joplin or Slick can hold a candle to Dorothy. I’m 64 and the history of Rock is the music of my life. Dorothy has the best voice in Rock (and other Genres) EVER. Her songs are from the heart and the band as a whole is just plain awesome
Beth…thank you for listening to Dorothy! She has incredible power. Yes….Adele and Janis are there. How about Etta James? Dorothy and Beth Hart are two of the most unique voices out there right now.
Love Dorothy! She is fantastic live and super cool. If you havent yet, you should really watch the Revolt live sessions here on YT. Starts right off with a song called "Woman" and she is fantastic to say the least.
It is Lzzy Hale and her band is Halestorm and Dorothy Martin has her own vocal capabilities and sings nothing like Lzzy, who, in her own right, has an amazing voice!
I was listening to this at work and my workmate thought it was Larkin Poe, I'd suggest giving them a listen if you like her voice as they're quite similar in a different genre
I'll tell you who she kinda reminds me of. Dio. That warm rich tone that never seems to leave no matter how high or low or how much distortion they apply. I don't mean to say that I think they sound alike, but I mean in sense of a distinct sound that is something that is unique to them.
Hi Beth! I would love to see your reaction to Laura Marling's hauntingly beautiful performance of, "What He Wrote" live from Union Chapel. Many thanks.
This song is about her father who abused her badly. I did some research and actually spoke to her off the record about what this song is about. I will respect her by not revealing the details but her father was an a---hole who did things to her that no one should ever endure. His death inspired this song.
Dorothy is great and deserves a lot more recognition. Another vocalist I'm surprised you haven't reacted to yet, and also deserves a lot more recognition, is Taylor Momsen: ruclips.net/video/HKhU-DdKhs0/видео.html
Hi Beth, love your reactions, and your input, my only issue is you are following the pop train, would you be interested reacting to something off the pop charts, maybe Tiger Lilies? Thank You in advance, cheers!
Please, react to Serenato, Kalafina, Live version in budokan, this band has the most beautiful trio voices I ever heard, I'm curious to see you reacting to this
I stumbled onto Dorthy from a video game. Gun In My Hand was the intro for The Walking Dead: Michonne. To this day, best music/intro combo for a video game. ruclips.net/video/zjhoQHULmQk/видео.html
Dorothy Martin's voice is comparable to a lot of the greats that you've mentioned. Let add one... If Cher did metal she might almost sound as good as Dorothy Martin.
You do hear an accent but its not the one I hear (as an American) when she is simply speaking. I would say that her accent is more Texas while her speaking is southern California. Compare her to Janis Joplin who grew up in Texas.

I loved it! So good.
She wrote this song as part of recovery from alcoholism

Finally, Dorothy (Martin) is someone I haven't seen more reactions to. She has an incredible voice. There are some great live videos out there of her singing.
You could pick any one of her songs. All amazing.
Dorothy Martin Valentine
Dorothy, Pretty Reckless etc. I feel sorry for this generation of lady rockers. Not nearly enough listeners. So much talent.
Also Blues Pills!
The Pretty Reckless
Dorothy's song Top of the World is one of the songs on the game MLB 22
Now if Dorothy and TPR wore on tour together, 1. it be an awesome show and 2. on a personal note it would finish my top 5 must see bands already seen EV, Halestorm and New Years Day among others but those 2 have eluded me
That vocal quality you were talking about that she has is soul. Pure soul.
I discovered Dorothy in 2016 - they opened for Halestorm. We were all “What’s a Dorothy???” A few minutes into their set, that changed to “OH. THAT’S DOROTHY!!! I saw her as an opener for another act and fell in LOVE with her voice! I cannot fathom why more people haven’t heard of them.
I've seen Dorothy live and it's an incredible show... she's got an awesome voice. Absolutely, loved it.
I've been following Dorothy since just after their first album. Simply amazing. Extremely underrated and with exceptional skill and range.
Going from clarity to clarity with each new song and album.
Dorothy is so underrated. Glad to see your reaction ;)
I saw them live, they were fantastic. Seriously one of the most underrated bands out right now. Perfect mix of rock and country
I have seen them twice now. Agree - they are fantastic live!
Dorothy is something else. Power personified. This song is about addiction, the cost she paid and taking back control of her own life. It is crime to music that she not a household name. Yet.
Dorothy is amazing. I think she soaks here vocal chords in Whiskey to get that amazing sound.
I’ve been following Dorothy for about five years now, and they never fail to amaze. Dorothy Martin’s voice is so unique and full, with such little effort. And her growl is so dirty, it still makes my skin crawl with excitement.
I'm a big, big fan of Dorothy! REST IN PEACE is her 5th orchestra. thanks for watching her performance.
I’m looking forward to watching Dorothy conquer the music world. You should listen to her song Beautiful Life.
Ann Wilson of Heart. That was my first comparison the very first time I heard Dorothy. Which was this song on the radio last summer. Stopped me cold in my tracks to finish listening to it and wrote myself a note about who the artist was so I could check them out later.

I’ve seen the band twice and they are just as great in person. Truly underrated.
WOW...GREAT GROUP! Gotta to do a dive here! Dorothy reminds me a bit of Ann Wilson. Love it! Thanks Beth!

Her cover of No Church in the Wild goes hard
Dorothy - After Midnight from Jam in the Van got me hooked on Dorothy. She's amazing.
Dorothy is incredible! I highly recommend "What's coming to me" and "Flawless", both excellent displays of her abilities.
I texted in this request. I told her to check out Rest in Peace and What's Coming to Me. So many great songs to choose from. It was hard for me to narrow down my request list!
Great song, great lyrics and great voice.
I knew this was going to be good when I saw it pop up. Different songs showcase different abilities so there is a lot more to discover. would be cool to see a follow up with the "plugged" version as well.
Loves me some Dorothy. Such an incredible voice, and super nice human being. 🤘❤🔥🤘
Yeah, Dorothy! They are one of my most favourite discoveries of last year.
Such interesting and powerful lyrics, music and performance. Thanks for reviewing this.
She gets the crowd behind her, sounds just great 😊live

Awesome band
a voice to sing the blues
I hear great power under practiced control. Dorothy will belt and when she does, fasten your seat belts cos it's gonna be a thrill ride!
I've seen Dorothy live twice now and will see them again the next time they are in the area. I've seen many bands where you can barely hear the singer but her voice just cuts through the music.
It cuts through your soul.
Wow...she's got power!

Wow I'm a big fan of Dorothy, really enjoyed this video thank you
Yeah...pretty much what I thought when I first heard her (the same day they were playing about 30 minutes away and couldn't get away!!) Love it
I hope modern country music discovers her. Maybe they have.
Not so sure I hear much Adele or Janis either. The voice compare I hear the most is Lzzy Hale!! Power for days!!!!
Thank you, Beth!!! 💚💜
"Dorathy" is the full package... she is beautiful, sexy, and has the vocals to make my heart skip, just like our lovely beth!
She's tied with Maria Catharina as my top discoveries of 2023 so far. Song is a masterpiece.
I hear a lot of Lizzie Hair from Halestirm in her vocals.
This is simply magnificent!!!
Bravo Dorothy!!!
It is Lzzy Hale and her band is Halestorm and Dorothy Martin has her own vocal capabilities and sings nothing like Lzzy, who, in her own right, has an amazing voice!
She has just the slightest rasp to her delivery which feels perfect for rock
I was listening to this at work and my workmate thought it was Larkin Poe, I'd suggest giving them a listen if you like her voice as they're quite similar in a different genre
4:50 rip earbud users. Someone always remember us.
LOL That threw me for a second! I'm sitting here thinking Accent? WHAT accent? Cheerio!
Since finding her, I've felt like Dorothy is a direct successor to Allanah Myles. That sound is just so iconic.
Check out her jam in the van 🔥🔥🔥 raw talent 👌👍.
✌️♥️🏴.
Dorothy and Lzzy Hale.
I love dorothy she is the best I love her so much
She does have quite the voice and obviously knows how to use it to max effect!
Amazing, brilliant!
God sings from the soul beautiful 😍
I'll tell you who she kinda reminds me of. Dio. That warm rich tone that never seems to leave no matter how high or low or how much distortion they apply. I don't mean to say that I think they sound alike, but I mean in sense of a distinct sound that is something that is unique to them.
Una voz demasiado potente una canción muy emotiva 🆗 Beth 👏👏🍀🍀
if you did a Chris Issac cover than damn. Look forward to this
Could you react to more by Halestorm and talk about Lzzy's INCREDIBLE voice technique? Looking forward to it
You should do one on Victorious, a song she did on Nita Strauss's album. Also, on the same album Alissa White with Nita. "The wolf you feed".
AMAZING!!
You definitely should do the song "Bottom Of The River" by Delta Rae. An amazing voice from the lead female along with, great backup vocals too.
So underrated
Hi Beth! I would love to see your reaction to Laura Marling's hauntingly beautiful performance of, "What He Wrote" live from Union Chapel. Many thanks.

really like Dorothy's cover of No Church in the Wild
This song is about her father who abused her badly. I did some research and actually spoke to her off the record about what this song is about. Dorothy is great and deserves a lot more recognition. Another vocalist I'm surprised you haven't reacted to yet, and also deserves a lot more recognition, is Taylor Momsen: ruclips.net/video/HKhU-DdKhs0/видео.html
Beth, did you learn Mongolian Throat singing? I felt the same as you when I watched The Hu.!!!

I stumbled onto Dorthy from a video game. Gun In My Hand was the intro for The Walking Dead: Michonne.
To this day, best music/intro combo for a video game.

Who does she sound like, Cher!
In this song, she reminds me of Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless.
Please consider reviewing NIN featuring Nata-In this Twilight.
Please please please react 🙂↔️🥲 Dead Sara - “Blue was the beautiful you”. She’s so powerful …socks will be 💨💨💨away I swear
Please, give you reaction to "Disfruto" by Carla Morrison
When I first heard her,I thought she sounds a little like Ann Wilson in her prime.

Dorothy Martin's voice is comparable to a lot of the greats that you've mentioned. Let add one... If Cher did metal she might almost sound as good as Dorothy Martin.
React to Elis Regina and Tom Jobim singing Águas de Março
Can you react to Wipe Your Ass With Sandpaper by Bounding Innards
You should check out some Bishop Briggs
These would be my two recommendations.

Rock version of Cher? Maybe a litle bit.
You do hear an accent but its not the one I hear (as an American) when she is simply speaking. I would say that her accent is more Texas while her speaking is southern California. Compare her to Janis Joplin who grew up in Texas.
I think I prefer the unplugged.
Check out stephen mchirter

Come Jesus come
I got early Cher vibes from her 🤔
You may have heard gypsies tramps and thevies from Cher if not you should react to it
This is acoustic! Listen to the LP version. WOW!
