Freaking love this. 47... Two years ago hospitalized and spent two weeks in the CCU. The comeback has been a struggle for sure especially with my Sjögren's Disease. My choice guitar I've never had - PRS CE24 (and my wife complains constantly about my stuff all over the house) This is so great and it's awesome to feel like I'm 'with' others. Please do some more of these over 40 vids!

65 year old here. Took up guitar 2 years ago after bowel cancer to keep me occupied and busy during chemo. Never too late to learn and loving every minute of it. Great channel. Keep it up.
Thank you for the kind comments and high five to you for getting through that difficult time of your life by playing the guitar. That is very encouraging to all of us! We appreciate you and stay tuned for more!
Awesome and thanks for the guitar compliment, my friend! Glad to hear from you in the U.K., you are in the right place here at All About Guitar Academy. Stay tuned for more!
That is so encouraging! Thanks for sharing that and appreciate hearing that you just started guitar 5 months ago. Have fun and stay tuned for more guitar videos. Cheers!
Thank you and Congratulations! Great to hear that you picked up guitar and yes, it definitely takes self discipline to stay on track and focused on improving a little more, every week. Keep us posted on your guitar journey.
45 year old, finally picked up the guitar I always wanted, telecaster esquire with a humbucker(squier paranormal but I love it) one month in and progressing. Loving the journey
Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I’ve played a few Squire Telecasters, they are good guitars and fun to play 🎸👍🏼 cheers to you on your guitar journey and stay tuned for more!
The squier paranormal guitars are great. Im looking at one of their strat/tele hybrid type guitars just now. Although really i want both a strat and a tele so im more likely gonna get a squier classic vibe tele and cv strat.
New Year's Eve and New Year's Day in Japan they have a special music program on national TV. One year there was a group with about 12 guitar players. No virtuosos; just people playing together! They were all playing Gibson etc. full body Jazz guitars. Everyone in the band was over 80 years old! Those guys along with American blues & country guitar players encourage me to play for as long as I can! It is such a joy! (American in Japan).
I’m 52, and I have plenty of time, so I picked up the guitar to do something useful with my time. 5 months in so far and I’m having a great time learning to play.
64 and have recently ramped my game up despite some arthritis in finger joints which I have overcome with curcumin and cold exposure ( check Wim Hof out). I find I have to get out the house and play with other musicians of all levels to learn from better players and help up and coming ones. Enjoy the journey!
Thanks for sharing your guitar journey 🎸with us 👍🏼 awesome that you are still jamming and playing with other musicians in spite of arthritis. Sounds like you’ve got a great guitar plan!
Adapting to getting older can come with pleasant surprises. I'm 49 and have always played dreadnoughts exclusively, but I have started having pain in my right shoulder that makes it difficult to play a dreadnought seated, so I bought a travel sized guitar. I had always thought about learning fingerstyle, but never had, but something about that small bodied guitar just inspires me to fingerick, and I'm starting to get pretty good at it.
That's awesome that you found the right travel guitar to help you play, even with your shoulder pain. Glad to hear that you found the fix for your challenge. Soon after my injury, I also had to change to my smooth as silk Mexican Fender Strat electric guitar, playing only 1-2 finger chords to get back into playing again. Choosing the right guitar to play when challenged with pain, etc.. is crucial. Very encouraging, thank you!
I'm 67 and have been dibbling with a guitar off and on for a few years, night classes were fun but never really taught strumming patterns just cowboy chords which was fine initially but now I am wanting something a bit more.
At age 71 been at it for 5 years and loving the shit out of it. After a 50 hiatus it is great to be back ( not like I was ever there😂). The best part is that I have an instructor who challenges me and the guy can build them too and I have one of his Tone Pigs and it is incredible ! He has even taught me some bass guitar because my timing needs work. I have four guitars and feel some guilt because I don’t feel worthy to have that many. Been working on some standard tuning slide and a lot of hybrid picking. Just hoping it all comes together someday🤣
I'm 62 and I'm just a beginner. I don't feel my age holds me back. I am a person that just takes time to learn things but I have time because I'm retired.
Thanks for sharing! That is awesome that you are going after this goal 🎸 and you have the TIME to learn and practice. Keep us posted on your progress 👍🏼
Time is my biggest problem as well! After overcoming the injury challenges, I had to set a daily schedule for practice, etc.. and it's still hard to stick to it. Glad I'm not the only one. Thanks for watching the channel!
OK I subscribed. I’m a few weeks from 64 years old. I started at 16 and never stopped. I can honestly say when I was the best I’ve ever been it’s right now. I’ll be better tomorrow. I recently retired. I play every day. Guitar is one of the best things I ever did. Creative? I have a RUclips channel. Feel free to check it out.
@@WickedFesterBand thanks for subscribing 👍🏼🎸 I checked out your channel and decided to subscribe, good stuff there my friend! Welcome to our community and thanks for checking out the video 😃🎸🎸🎸
