Someone requested this on Tik Tok and I am OBSESSED! I recorded this beautiful Viking Anthem with 3 part harmony in my stairwell for the great acoustics and just used my Iphone headphone mic for the clean sound.
Thank you guys for your continued support of my little stairwell covers.

Hello! Do you think you could look at my comment from Prince of Egypt? I’d love it if you could do that.. thank you!
*DO "MEMORIES OF MOTHER" FROM GOD OF WAR!*
Have you seen this version? ruclips.net/video/m9HNIHp6q9M/видео.html You can make a duet =)
I have no right to ask you, but can you sing "leave her jonny leaver her" ?
I didn’t know that was on assassins creed, I heard it from Vikings, the story of Ragnar Lothbrok
Don't know if it really is but in did it comes from Vikings...
One of the best television shows ever created
@@findme7585 have you watched last kingdom? Is it better than vikings?
@@findme7585 the quality of the story went down significantly in recent seasons
@@lcr5910 I have not watched it, so I can’t say, sorry! If you ever get around to it let me know!
The song is older than both Vikings and Assassins creed Valhalla, it’s a Norse folk song, and you sung it beautiful
It's not even in AC, someone just took the version in Vikings and just put Valhalla on the thumbnail, and got a ton of views.
The song is new but the lyrics are a translated poem by Egill Skallagrímsson originally in old Icelandic. We don't have any information about music from that period in Iceland so we don't really know what type of songs they sang
Didn’t know that song before but damn I’m shivering
You should listen Harald and Halfdan sing this song
you should also listen to Natidred's(if u haven't already)
same tho, this vid is amazinggg
Every other rendition is better.. she's messes up the lyrics several times
Repent
Some music studio SERIOUSLY needs to put this beautiful ladies voice in a sound booth and release it upon the world...we should set up a GoFundMe for some studio time for this awesome lady...get some original music and put it out there...I'd be 100% sure to buy it!! What you think RUclips Universe???
Yes! Disney princess voice right here.
They'd ruin it somehow.
Good idea!!!
Don’t need it... sounds great now =]
Nah she’d first have to sell herself and sell her soul and they’d use that voice in the grossest possible manner and butcher it with bad hip crap
Lyrics:
My mother told me
Someday I would buy
Galleys with good oars
Sails to distant shores
Stand up on the prow
Noble barque I steer
Steady course to the haven
Hew many foe-man
Hew many foe-man
And by the way, this song isn't from AC, it is from Vikings. It was sang by king Harald and his brother Halfdan and their men.
It is a norse folk song sung by Anglo-Saxon and norse men. Viking is a word similar to Skirmish.
Norse men went on Vikings to get riches and supplies.
This was so beautiful!! Lyrics if anyone went searching for them like I did:
My mother told me Someday I would buy Galley with good oars Sail to distant shores.
My mother told me Someday I would buy Galley with good oars Sail to distant shores.
Stand up in the prow Noble barque I steer.
Steady course for the haven Hew many foe-men, hew many foe-men.
My mother told me Someday I would buy Galley with good oars Sail to distant shores Stand up in the prow Noble barque I steer Steady course for the haven Hew many foe-men, hew many foe-men.
Stand up on the prow
@@skankhunt-eb7jc I agree
@@skankhunt-eb7jc You would typically stand on the stem in the prow. Standing on the prow is when there is a deck there. In case of viking longboats; they had no deck and standing on the prow meant you would be standing on the prow-side-planking. One slip of a foot (to the outside) would mean a terrible feeling between the legs of any male viking and probably an involuntary swimming adventure. Never-mind the ridicule from the rest of the crew.
So, I guess, what ever sounds best in a song is what you sing.
You don't steer a boat while standing in/on the prow; you are guiding the helmsman who does the steering.
Poetic license is warranted and used here.
Just saying, you forgot the echo parts.
Terminology of the song.
1. Galley - A Ship
2. Prow - The front portion of the ship
3. Barque - A ship
4. Haven - A safe place or a harbour
5. Hew - Cut or chop with an axe or a sword
6. Foe - Enemy
Very interesting thanks!
Little correction: A galley is a type of ship that is propelled mainly by oars. The galley is characterized by its long, slender hull, shallow draft, and low freeboard (clearance between sea and gunwale). Virtually all types of galleys had sails that could be used in favourable winds, but human effort was always the primary method of propulsion.
@@Gabor.P.thanks for picking up on that, I’m not the only one who noticed.
@@countrylegobuilder134 I had to look it up. But this is how we learn the correct data. 👍
Heaven is the abode of god...or in this case its talking abt Valhalla
NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT US NATIVE NORSE⚔⚔⚔🪓 SING THAT ANCIENT SONG. This song always gives me chills, my ancestors were amazing.
You’re incredible!! 💕

I would never believe you if you ever told me that this song could sound even better, but she SLAYS it! Damn, she is an elf, she a siren, she is viking and an ice queen all combined!
Her+Rachel hardy+Colm mguiness=heaven? Vallhalla? Undying lands?
The Outlander opening song would be incredible. It's already so haunting. The reverb would make it timeless.
The Skye Boat song! :D
Yes please!
She did it! 💖💖
Can you teach us how to sing or teach us some vocal warm ups, challenges, and tips? I would love to learn from one of the most angelic voices in the world!
Yes please
That would be amazing!
PLEASE i would love to see this!
YES
Yes i would love for lauren to do that
I have a song suggestion: “Dance to the Day” from the Prince of Egypt. It’s from the new London Musical version. It’s one of those “mysterious Egyptian songs,” and I think you’d be really good at it! :)
THERE’S A MUSICAL?!?!?!
@@kendrahein45 Yep :D
I definitely was hoping you’d do a cover for this ❤️❤️❤️

And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one
zašto ne shvatam šta si napisala :/
Please tell me you've all also heard this on 'Vikings' before AC... The brothers Harald and Halfdan's armies are closing on each other, and they start singing this. Chills every time.
And this cover is amazing!
omg! I heard this song for the first time last night and here you are singing it!!! you are a literal angel
The fact the person asked for the " asassin creed song pisses me off.. first of all, people know it mainly beceause of vikings, 2e its an actual song dating back from viking times..
But to the point, beatifully sang.
You literally can’t rightly expect somebody who only knows about the existence of a song because of it being used in a game video to know it’s historically true. I know it dates to the Vikings because I learned the song while I was learning about my Norwegian Viking ancestors, but honest; maybe only a whole thousand people know that. Save your pisses off for things that matter, song history from the culture that was unappreciated for a thousand years until only a decade ago and slowly more since then, ain’t one of the things that matter.
@@cameronf3343 it wasn't even in ac valhalla though
@@cameronf3343 But it's not a song though.
It's an adaptation of a short piece of prose from Egils Saga.

Never heard this song before but you did beautifully. Now everyone will have to live up to you. 👍🏽
I was just listening to viking music when this notification came. This was perfect as usual. I loved the different layers it was stunning. Well done.😁
Bad times create strong men.. That's why the sea shanty and viking songs are on the rise.
I guess it falls on our generation to create good times in the hope that one day this seemingly endless cycle might be broken.
Zeldas lullaby!!! Please 😊

Oh my lord, this is the most angel like version of this song I have ever heard. So awesome.
its not an assassin's creed song. its centuries-old and written by a dude who's little brother was killed in a raid.
I was about to sleep in stress, now i shall fall asleep in peace.
Your voice is so calming. Thank you.
Kids know the song from assassin's creed
Real men know it from Vikings
I’m confused, the TV show or the actual Vikings? Because it is a real Viking song that many warbands used to sing especially the Norwegian Vikings
@@cameronf3343 Oh well for me I was just talking about the tv show
@@cameronf3343 Where are you getting this from?
It's originally from Egils Saga which was Icelandic, not Norwegian.
She’s got one of the best voices around wow.
"what if we multiplied perfection three times?" = 1:14 🤯
What if there was a 4th vocal
Funny I was just just listening to this a while ago
On the behalf of all of us danes we thank you 😊🇩🇰
Great tune!
Awesome!
and here, ladies and gentlemen, we have a Siren in her natural modern setting of a stairwell- ah, shit Billy's being lured in again. Get the lasso.
I ALWAYS get chills when i listen to this
Amazing song for all the Vikings here on earth. May there be peace in Valhalla for us.
Soo pretty I lover your vocie soo much!
That was sweet. I like the duet and triplette (don't know if thats a word but sounded good in my head) parts of the song. Another awesome song. ❤❤❤
I'd love to see you the theme song for outlander, i think it would really suit your voice. Or continuing the theme the Vikings theme is also really good.
Whaaaaaat?!! Three stairwell sirens in perfect harmony?!! 🤯 Don’t let the other two steal any of your subscribers!
Loved this! You know you are good when people are just requesting whatever their favorite tune is just to hear your take on it. =) I really enjoyed the Vikings show. Would you consider doing a cover of the theme of it? "If I had a heart"? I would love to hear the stairwell cover! =P
Seconded! I'd love to hear a stairwell cover of If I Had a Heart
I CLICKED SO FASTTTTT♥️🔥
The future is pretty great in some ways. 15-20 years ago, we very likely never, ever, ever, ever would have heard this woman's voice because she would've had to have gotten a record deal or a spot on Letterman. Now she just records it real quick, uploads it probably even quicker than that, and here we all are.
it was my job in the Marines for most of a decade to conduct amphibious raids. in other words, the modern equal to a Viking. i was to land, assemble with my men under cover of night and attack an objective. for nearly ten years i did this.
Not even remotely close to a modern day Viking buddy. The comparison is laughable

I have got to say: “HEWN MANY FOE MEN” is seriously quite a Beautiful sounding & Non-gruesome way to say; “SLAUGHTER MANY ENEMIES AND CUT THEM IN HALF“. “Hewn many foe men” just has a much nicer ring to it! IMO
Maaaybe “Mercedes’ Lullaby” from Pan’s Labyrinth too.
Could you do "All is found" from Frozen 2? I think you'd sound beautiful doing it. ^_^

The smile of the Sun, the gentleness of a Dove, and the voice of a Angel. The Stairwell Nightingale.
Wow, why haven't I been that big in the Assassin's Creed franchise?!

Such a beautiful cover!
Quick note though: This song isn't actually used in AC Valhalla, someone just posted it on youtube saying that it should be added to the game. The song is from Vikings.
I’ve realized that! The person that requested it said AC Valhalla so that’s the only reason why it says that :)
It blows my mind how she's singing this without growing a beard! Respect ✊
Such shame that people know this from AC Vikings instead of Vikings TV Show..
