    Thanks for the informative video! Its heartening to see barriers are being broken down regarding prestige / pedigree of colleges. Two questions though:
    1.If where you get your degree is not as important these days, then is it OK if you don't have a CS-related degree at all but have the experience/skills through stuff like FOSS contributions and competitions as you said?
    2.Could you give us a roadmap to utilizing online resources with the intention of eventually becoming a developer?

    There is no one without a degree that has ever gotten a job at FAANG in India as a fresher. They have straightaway listed a bachelor's degree as a requirement. Forget a degree, you need a tier 1 degree to get in as a fresher.

      ​@@oofydoofy because Indian kids run after degrees but it's not a criteria since software development is not actually "Engineering". Engineering is just core branches like civil, mechanical.

    Make a video on some doubts where amateurs get stuck. Like while learning on our own how to move on beyond java and create working useful project with frontend and backend. For backend devs how much frontend needed to create such first project. Same for frontend also. How to learn about deployment. How to learn different types of software other than web

    hey Harkirat nice video, My QUESTION is related to open source contribution. I do want to get start into opensource but I get stuck at, 1) on which opensource project I should start with? If I have to specifically want to contribute into web dev how many projects should I start to contribute to initially in 3 months? 2) Should I contribute to few projects simultaneously or just contribute in 1 or two . 3) How and which opensource project I should select and on which basis I should select it. 4) how can I network while doing open source contribution.

      bro i am in 11th at the end of my year...i worked bit more than average kid but at the end of my year i feel like i have achieved nothing in 11th and hence i am worried about my jee prep. in 12th. What do you think a student like me should do? should he learn coding right from 12th and focus on programming and web designing or should the student study equal to more than 10 hours and get a descent college in cs branch

    I'm currently a web developer with 1 year experience with react, but i feel like web development won't be a good pay job in future. It makes me anxious and feels like i should learn more things or i would be obsolete. Btw I keep upscaling myself learning new frameworks

      Embrace the uncertainty mate. Like many have said, this is a field where you're never not learning new things. You've got to keep learning the latest tech to stay ahead/ stand out. If shit hits the fan we've all got to adapt and pivot or we're all screwed.
      Someone once told me to always assess the credentials for your role in general ( so you're always up to date and ready for job hunts post lay off) and assess the market trends( as in what framework/ technology/ skill is in demand so you learn those )

    Sir, I & many other students are facing problems regarding backend setup in codespace. It is easy to make a new express mongodb project on codespace but how to setup an open source express repo on codespace is very hard & i am facing many issues which are not there in local setup like 502 gateway nginx.

    Can you make videos on finding big and impactful open source work ? I have made multiple bug fixes and feature improvements to many 10k+ star repos but I have no clue how to actually dive deep into a tech problem/major milestone and resolve it with the team members.. I try talking to community members but there seems to a high wall of entry to contribute to major milestones in the project's timeline.. and sometimes these major milestones are being worked on by actual employees lol ... I would love to do some major work on some impactful repo, as seeing your work in production used my many people is just the sweetest :) Any communities/project/repo you would suggest ? the one that come to mind are CNCF, Apache, rust/go based projects or some js full stack ecosystem projects etc etc.. would love a video on searching and analyzing open source projects!

    It matters ,if u r from iit ,Harvard and mit (Massachusetts institute of technology ) then you have job security (college tag)
    Many employees from common colleges with best skills are thrown out due to fact of their background and college so yeah they do matter . I will name this as college casteism in big mncs. Besides iitians are only in managerable role due to their leadership (I presume) and intelligence.
