    He both taught me a course a couple years ago, and taught my dad a course almost 40 years ago! It's a pleasant surprise to see him here too :)

      In our university, Kruskal is notorious for failing a lot of CS students in algorithm classes.

    Dr. Kruskal taught me algorithms > 20 years ago while I was in UMCP. It sure brings back many fond memories. Thanks for the upload!

    Hey Back to Back SWE, nice upload. Prof. Kruskal is also a good lecturer. I am also from UMD (senior CS undergrad) and learned that in CMSC 351

    Look like a greedy algorithm, take the minimum cost path and make sure the path is not to be a cycle.

    For a moment I thought it was going to be a boring video, but it was actually a concise, practical and very interesting one. It was great to learn the story, and the algorithm itself, right from one of the creator's relatives.

      Nice - continue on and get really good really early at programming and this stuff. Your life will be 10x easier, you will be very valuable in the world, and you will live a good life economically.

      @@BackToBackSWE i know but you did the same for 351, like you put out videos as you learned the content(or maybe you knew it already). either way i understand the 451 content/proofs are harder and if you can't make videos on them due to complexity/time constraints i understand

    This is what the fuck I am talking about. To preserve history/narrative like this is one of the most important aspects to learning and to our greater society. I was able to adopt the intuitive nature of this algorithm much faster than any other algorithm because I made the human connection to Professor Clyde and the narrative that he and his family is part of. Thank you for posting!
