i have GB455PL.. please let me know if you needed a special bottom-hinge for reversing (as the vid shows)? I think on this model you can reuse the original hinge? thank you
What a great video and instructions! Thank you. This is very clear. I think I need to get the tools from someone before attempting it. But it's good to have this option to chagne your door over if needed. 😃
I used this video to reverse the doors on an LG GBB72PZEFN, which is slightly different to the model demonstrated. It can be done by one person, the doors aren't as heavy as they look, but two people would be better. (In the UK, it is misleading to say that the doors are reversable without pointing out that a further purchase is required.)
@@LGSAE the further purchase is the hinge and also paying for the preferred service provider to do the job so you don't void your warranty (as stated in the manual). That's why there are not instructions in the manual on how to change the doors.
@@celineos8639 You don't need to purchase the hinge, it is included with the fridge. In case you throw it out, you need to purchase it again, but that's your fault, not LG's.
@@celineos8639 *WHAT?* I am helping an old friend change her doors so I haven't read her manual about the warranty being voided if the change is not done by an Authorised/preferred Service Provider. I would imagine she will not have understood that the warranty would be null and void as like all legal stuff it will be obfuscated in their usual mumbo jumbo fine print. It looks like LG are or have descended to the bottom of the pile with all the rest of the get out of -jail- warranty free legal trickery. Their products used to be really quite good. *Thank You* for bringing the warranty voiding to my attention. I am most appreciative of this and will pass it on to my pensioner friend. 👍
@josephking6515 the warranty voided by the DIY door reversal is only to do with any issues regarding the door reversal. If done correctly there should be no issues. Now if someone starts the door reversal and finds it too difficult and then have to call out an Enginner, OR they misaligned the doors and the doors don't seal properly and then have to call an engineer, this is when someone will have to pay an engineer to fix the issue, that is not covered by the 24 month warranty. Basically and rightly so, they won't cover damage done by a person who shouldn't have attempted something beyond their measure. A qualified engineer who comes out to check for example the compressor and sees the door reversed correctly and there's no sealing issues etc... the warranty is still covered.
They added different sentence to they manual :) "Only qualified service personnel from LG Electronics service centre should disassemble, repair, or modify the appliance. Contact an LG Electronics customer information centre if you move and install the appliance in a different location." "Reversing the doors must be performed by the qualified personnel of LG Electronics. If not, the doors will not be covered by the warranty" This is from LG Fridge&Freezer owner's manual. So, even if you want to move your fridge to different corner you need to call LG Electronics service centre. :) So here are no talk about reversing doors by yourself or you may loose your warranty. Next fun sentence: "To remove frost from the appliance, contact an LG Electronics customer information centre." Do I need to call customer center to remove frost from inside of freezer?
To do it properly you have to pay the LG service provider - this is not made clear in any of the specifications on the LG websites and the retailers website, and you can spend as I did hours on the ph trying to get someone to have the decency to acknowledge that this information should be provided up front. Basically, you are not told which side the doors are hinged on and you cannot request a fridge with the doors aligned the way you need them to be. And then if you are in your 80s and living alone, you have to pay $200 to change the doors. And LG does not seem to realise that paying that additional amount should not be required of the customer who has specifically researched to find a fridge on which the doors can be reveresed. LG should indicate clearly that an additional amount will need to be paid to change the doors without voiding the warranty.
very helpful thank you, my model didn't have the electrical connections to move but the rest was the same and I live in a remote area with no service people around
Glad it helped. Yes that can be difficult. And indeed, some of our models do not have electrical connections, as they do not have a integrated door display.
Glad to be of help, we do not have all models, and we mainly try to work on EU products. But again, we do not get all the samples we would like to have.

I have an lbnc15251v right hand open currently. Do you have the part number for the bottom hinge so i can flip to left hand open please? Meaning opens from the left side. The reversal kit part number too please if you have it. thanks!
Very well noted Dan. It is marked in the notes, but indeed not specified in the video itself. This is an extension cable for models with an integrated display (not shown in this video)
What size ratchet part is being used in this video? It'd be really helpful to have a written list provided here as the manual has absolutely no information in it.

Excelente video. He podido invertir la puerta sin mayores problemas. Se debe tener cuidado con el cable en la zona de bisagra, esa parte no está muy clara en el video. Excellent video. I was able to reverse the door without problems. You must be careful with the cable in the top hinge zone, this part is not very clear in the video.
Thats a pity the additional aprts are not supplied with the fridge (like in the case ov every other brand) and you have to buy them separately.... This made sure my next fridge won't be LG.
Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, this video is meant for authorized SVC staff; the required cable extension is not an orderable part for consumers.
As shown, checking for alignment is important. I accidentally mixed up the old lower hinge with the new one, and got my bottom freezer door misaligned, keeping the door at a slight angle. It still would close and seal off though, hope this helps someone
Hi! I have this model: gbp61dspfn. Do I need any accessories to reverse my doors? I haven't nothing because I bought my house "with this fridge inside". Thank you for your answer.
At first delivery, there is always a left side bottom hinge included. If that is not available anymore, contact your local LG Service partner for this spare part.
The video is very explanatory. I would like to ask a question. After changing the way the door opens, the refrigerator door does not come face to face with the freezer door, it protrudes 5mm from the side of the opening and from the side of the hinges. This is ok. it is acceptable. Model GBB 72MCDMN.
thank you for your positive feedback, that's why we make such videos. Not sure how it exactly appears now in your situation. Did you rotate the door rubber as well?
@@LGSAE Thank you for your respond! Yes, we did. Actually the LG technician did it and he insists that the difference is normal for a LG Refrigerator. I do not think that this is true for your products though.
Thank you for the comment Otakar. Well, door reversing done by the customer will void warranty, because a lot can go wrong, mainly the wiring is sensitive to getting damaged if not guided correctly. This is why we typically recommend to let this be done by qualified service center staff.
@@LGSAE Reversing door is actually very simple but very difficult to do if you don't know exactly how. There are a lot of plastic parts that are very easy to break if you don't know exactly whether they should slide out or just forcefully put it out. And I dare to say that the law in the Czech Republic does not allow to invalidate the warranty of the whole product if the person himself reverse the door (assuming, of course, that reversing does not destroy anything)
Thank you. Well this video applies to most of the bottom freezer models sold in Europe. However, you are right that some models require you to swap the leveling feet as well, well noted!
Yesterday, I bought LG in Spain ... Model: GBB72NSUCN1 and would like to switch the doors but my LG Official Service in Spain told me that I may lose the warranty of my doors/refrigerator.Their Professional costs 100 euros to do this job!Wondering what to do now as it's expensive :-)
It is indeed a paid service if you request it to be done be a professional. If you take the steps as mentioned in the video it should work. One of the most important steps is to guide the wiring correctly and make sure it does not get stuck, for example at the hinge side. Good luck!
I've just got a LG-GBM22HSADH fridge freezer. The door reversal is startightforward until you get to the bottom hinge. A) it's not clear that the hinge is reversible B) there are no pre drilled bold holes on the underside as there are on the side where the door currently sits. The vendor - Hughes, who have been useless, advised contacting you. Please can you help? Thanks.
First, apologies for the late reply, we monitor these comments but not on daily basis. You are absolutely right, door reversal on the GBM models is indeed a bit different from the model presented in the video. Please take into consideration that you only require the supplied accesories. Since there is no bottom hinge in the package, this should give an indication that the current one can be reversed (unlike the 1 shown in this video). Actually the holes ARE pre-drilled, but it may seem they are not as there is a small bit of PUR in there. Just reverse the bottom bracket and the holes that it covers, you can turn in the leg at that point (it may require you to put some force when turning it in.) Let us know how it worked out please by replying to this post.
This seems to be a model with an internal display at that location, right? The procedure should be similar. Can you gently pull the fridge door towards you? Note that after taking out the bolts, the hinge is still hooked into the chassis, so wiggle it a little. The hinge must be getting loose from the chassis.
Thank you for this super instructive video! One question: I have a GBP62PZNCC1 model, which has buttons for setting the temperature within the top panel that you remove at 3:55 and I wasn’t able to pry it loose after removing the 2 screws. Do you know of any additional clips/screws that I need to remove for this model?
Not really but because it has in integrated display you should indeed be carefull and perhaps look for an owners manul via your local LG support office, where door reversal instructions should be provided.
I hope you managed to figure it out in the end, but for anyone else with the same model as you and me: there's no other screws, it'll come off with some careful wriggling. I think there's some clips on the left and right. I didn't have a plastic prying tool, so I used a credit card instead. It's a great video even if the fridge is slightly different. Just be sure to follow all the steps, don't be like me and miss the parts on the bottom of the doors that need to be moved as well... which I didn't realize until putting the entire fridge back together.
Im about to try this tomorrow - do i need to go out and buy a new hinge piece and wire piece as shown at 0:07? Or are those parts I will take out of my fridge and re-use? Cheers!

Hi, I reversed my fridge’s door yesterday and followed exactly every steps from this vdo. Apparently after reversing, the upper door isn’t aligned properly. It seems to tilt more to the upper left corner which I assume it affects the suction of the door when it’s close as the door suction doesn’t feel as strong as before reversion. Please advise, I really couldn’t figure out how to adjust the door alignment. Also, the bottom door isn’t seal properly. Do I also need to reverse the seal of the bottom door so it close properly? Thank you very much.
Thanks for your feedback. It is advised to reverse the seal of both the freezer AND the fridge door. If this does not solve the problems with the suction please contact your local LG support channels.
Hi there, as with a few other people, I'm having problems with the fridge door seemingly being higher than it should be - I've tightened and readjusted everything and still can't get it down, which means when I put the plastic cover on the top hinge, it won't go on properly. I also have a seal that's compressed too much, and it doesn't seal the fridge door?
Thanks for sharing. depending on your model it might be the middle hinge, is it level (before putting on the door)? As for the seal, please take it off completely, rotate it 180 degrees and put it back on, then the sealing will be as it was. At the hinge side there is always a bit more compression, so when you reverse the door it will automatically be a bit more compressed that side, so rotate it with the door opening should solve this.
@@LGSAE hej LG, having the very same issue. After switching the doors, the main door is 'too high' (2mm) so that I can indeed mount the door but the plastic cover does not fit and you can see when you're in front of the freezer that the door is 'hanging' to the right side a little bit.

Thank you very much and glad it's solved in your case! Yes it's known that warranty may be void when doing it yourself. Too bad you did not have a pleasant experience with the LG contact center though. We will pass on your feedback to them.
Hello, I have a problem with the plastic part from 10:32 it doesn't fit properly as the door itself is a bit higher than normal. I would highly appreciate it, if you share your experience with solving this issue.
Apologies for the late reply, I do not know why your door is higher, could it be a leveling issue? Or please check the fixing pin of the fridge door; is this mounted correctly? Otherwise contact your local helpdesk and check what could cause this.
After completing all steps and placing the upper door on the hinge pin, and attaching the upper hinge, the door is slightly misaligned as it now is shifted a little left leaving 1/4" of the fridge body exposed on the right. Is there any way to adjust the alignment of the door?
After changing the door opening in a Model GBB 72MCDMN refrigerator, the distance of the door from the body of the refrigerator on the upper side is 10 mm, while on the lower side it is 14 mm, this is within the permissible limits. If not, what could be wrong? Thank you
I'm not sure which distance you've measured. Does the door seal close the door well? We always advise to reverse the door seal 180 degrees after changing door direction, especially when you have been using it for a while.
@@LGSAE The distance I measured is the distance between the door and the frame of the refrigerator at the point where the rubber goes around. It seems that the rubber presses with different pressure. Thank you. We used this as a guide on our LG GB455PL model and it was very helpful. It was lucky that no one was paying us by the hour but we did it.
Dear Cherie, thank you for your comment and glad to read that it helped.
i have GB455PL.. please let me know if you needed a special bottom-hinge for reversing (as the vid shows)? I think on this model you can reuse the original hinge? thank you
What a great video and instructions! Thank you. This is very clear. I think I need to get the tools from someone before attempting it. But it's good to have this option to chagne your door over if needed. 😃
Thank you for the positive feedback. And enjoy your LG refrigerator.
Just used this to reverse the doors on my brand new GBB72PZEFN, very clear video, thanks!
Great to hear! Good luck with your new refrigerator.
Managed to do it successfully, even though my fridge version is slightly different. Thank you.
Amazingly good video - just followed it step by step and it has all worked out beautifully.
Great to hear!
Thanks for the video, the step-by-step was really helpful to successfully change the door of our brand new LG fridge
Great to hear! Enjoy your new fridge.
Thank you for using the video. When purchasing the appliance, the bottom bracket should be supplied. Which "further purchase" are you referring to?
Das Video ist perfekt um die Tür zu wechseln, grade erledigt funktioniert 1a😊
Good to hear, enjoy your refrigerator.
All of the time invested in the comments by LG could have been used to actually include this process in the manual.
Super video and very helpful, but you could have included some info in the user manual. For example a link to this youtube video.
Thanks for the tip!
They added different sentence to they manual :)
"Only qualified service personnel from LG Electronics service centre should disassemble, repair, or modify the appliance. Contact an LG Electronics customer information centre if you
move and install the appliance in a different location."
"Reversing the doors must be performed by the qualified personnel of LG Electronics. If not, the doors will not be covered by the warranty"
This is from LG Fridge&Freezer owner's manual.
5d d ed e÷ew.
Thanks i did it exactly as seen here and it wasnt as hard as i thought
very helpful thank you, my model didn't have the electrical connections to move but the rest was the same and I live in a remote area with no service people around

What is the wire harness in the 7 second mark? I don’t see it again in the video?
Very well noted Dan. It is marked in the notes, but indeed not specified in the video itself. This is an extension cable for models with an integrated display (not shown in this video)

When purchasing a Model GB-455WL Fridge, is the bottom silver bracket, that in the Video you say can't be reused, supplied in the box at purchase..
Thank you very much for this! It was of great help! 👍🏻
Wea are glad it was helpful :-)
Where was the left hand bottom hinge located when the fridge was unpacked. I cannot find mine.
What size ratchet part is being used in this video? It'd be really helpful to have a written list provided here as the manual has absolutely no information in it.
10mm and 6mm. You likely need to order a mini ratchet set if you don't have one. Also, to pry the top freezer mount from the door I used a wood chisel with a flat side and a bevelled side - worked MUCH more easily than the screwdriver example given here and I think if done carefully will cause less plastic damage too.
@@user-by8wb5gc3p thanks. in the end we got someone LG recommended to reverse it for us (didn't like the disclaimer that you void your guarantee if you do it yourself). Fortunately the cost was covered by John Lewis!

Could you tell me where to buy special hinge cover for reverse door opening, it does not come with my refrigerator ?
It should be in either the topcover or in a bag that was in the drawer. Otherwise contact your local LG customer center.
Thank you for this information. I had no wiring harness on my GB-335wl model but all else matched up. was the same
that could be possible, yours has an internal display (searched and found it is an Australian model) We choose to use the external display unit to be as complete as possible

You're welcome!
Hi! Are the hinges designed for opposite mounting included when you purchase the fridge? Or do you need to buy them additionally? if so, from where?
Hi... they are included when you buy the fridge :)
This is different per country. For more details you can contact the LG Contact Center in your country
Thanks.
Thats a pity the additional aprts are not supplied with the fridge (like in the case ov every other brand) and you have to buy them separately.... This made sure my next fridge won't be LG.
Actually all parts you need for reversal are supplied. In case you miss any part I would advise you to contact your local LG service center.
Which separate video explains the additional step for fridges with an integrated display? Why not include a link to this in the above description?
Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, this video is meant for authorized SVC staff; the required cable extension is not an orderable part for consumers.
As shown, checking for alignment is important. I accidentally mixed up the old lower hinge with the new one, and got my bottom freezer door misaligned, keeping the door at a slight angle. It still would close and seal off though, hope this helps someone
Thank you for mentioning this Jort. Indeed we do not show a 'bad example' so this type of feedback is welcome.
Just perfect instructions.
Thanks a lot !
You are very welcome, glad to be of service
Great video!
thank you, spread the word
Video is OK, but whoever decided not to put paper instructions in the fridge manual should burn in hell.
@@LGSAE I don't think you fully understand the EU legislation on warranty. You don't seriously believe that will hold up in court, do you?
Thank you 10/10
Nice Video. Just wondering why you don't have instructions on flipping the leveling feet?
Should this apply for LG GBP31SWLZN?
I can't get the fridge door lifted off after opening the 2 top bolts holding the hinge in place in 2:30.
It says in the manual that if you flip the doors yourself they will not be covered by warranty.
Im about to try this tomorrow - do i need to go out and buy a new hinge piece and wire piece as shown at 0:07? Or are those parts I will take out of my fridge and re-use? Cheers!

Nope, it should open normally, however sometimes there is tape used to hold the doors.
@@LGSAE Thank you for your reply. I will try reverse the seals first and see if it’s better.
@@LGSAE hej LG,
having the very same issue. After switching the doors, the main door is 'too high' (2mm) so that I can indeed mount the door but the plastic cover does not fit and you can see when you're in front of the freezer that the door is 'hanging' to the right side a little bit.
Hello mate nice video , i have the LG GBP62DSNFN, i do everything as you describe but i cant put the last plastic cover top left side, it just doesnt fit.any advice?
There should be a spare for the other side in the unit. depends on the models, some in the top cover, some in the bag with the lower hinge.

Hello, did you ever find a fix for this?
After completing all steps and placing the upper door on the hinge pin, and attaching the upper hinge, the door is slightly misaligned as it now is shifted a little left leaving 1/4" of the fridge body exposed on the right. Is there any way to adjust the alignment of the door?
normally that should not happen. ensure the center hinge is not off and the top hinge well bolted.
I am having the same problem
Door seal reversed 180 degrees and the door almost did not press on the bottom side. It was much worse.

There is no option but to put a magnet at the position where the door detection is done. However, the alarm soudns for a reason, which is probably something you ned to get solved. Did you recently have the door open direction reversed? This might have caused the issue.
