महाराष्ट्र के जलगांव जिले में पुष्पक एक्सप्रेस के कम से कम 12 यात्रियों की मौत कर्नाटक एक्सप्रेस की चपेट में आने से हो गयी है. आयुष प्रसाद (डीएम, जलगांव) ने बताया कि घटनास्थल से अस्पतालो की दूरी कम से कम 10 किमी है.

Ayush Prasad (DM, Jalgaon) said that the distance of hospitals from the accident site is at least 10 km. Whereas the distance of specialist hospitals is at least 70 km. He said that 10 ambulances have been deployed. Local police and administration are engaged in relief and rescue work. Jalgaon DM said that initially at least 12 passengers have been reported dead, but the death toll will be confirmed only after doing Panchnama. The injured have been admitted to the hospital.
According to the information received regarding the accident, Pushpak Express applied slow brakes due to which sparks came out. This spread the rumor of fire in the train. According to information received from some other sources, some passengers also pulled the chain. The accident took place at Pargade railway station. When the rumor of fire spread, the passengers of coach B4 got down from the train and went to the adjacent track. Then they came under the grip of Karnataka Express which was passing at a high speed. The number of passengers who became victims of the accident is being reported to be around 40. So far, information has come about the death of 12 people. It is being said that Pargade is a small station. There is a lack of resources here.
It is being said that Pushpak Express was going from Lucknow to Mumbai. Central Railway CPRO Swapnil Neela said that this is not a train accident. There was no collision between two trains, rather the passengers jumped on the rumor of fire in the Pushpak train and came under the grip of Karnataka Express coming on the adjacent track. He said that the death toll is not clear at the moment. He said that help is being taken from private hospitals located near the incident spot.
