- Today I check out the liquid transfer pump sold at Harbor Freight. Is it any good at the price point and could they improve on the build??

It did well for what I needed and saved me money. The package claims 6 quarts of fluid pumped a minute and performed exactly what it claimed with gas. Even after paying the price for the pump and batteries, I saved money.

It's done everything I wanted it to do so far. Fingers crossed it lasts a few years🤞
I bought one Jan 2024, cheap as china itself but it works fine. I have a gravity hand pump but on occasion I need to pump uphill so this little pump does the trick. Mostly use it to fill my motorcycle tank from a military style 5 gal can sitting on the floor, no lifting = great!
I bought mine to pump gas into our van. It works like a charm. I don't have to worry about losing any gas on the ground when refilling our tank with a can. For the price, I couldn't beat it at all.

I used one of these fro years when I had kerosene heaters. It finally craps out after a couple of years. Good Pump for the money.
Kinda wished it was still the $5, but I guess life goes on. I got a good friend that's gonna use it to pump out his 30 gallon fuel cell on his bass boat soon. I'm very curious if it's gonna last after that.

My time spent at Harbor Freight has went downhill a lot recently. They just don't have what I need and their prices are higher than what name brand items are so I stopped going as often. You are right that they do have some decent items along with some downright junk. I actually made a video on what to avoid at the store, but never released it. Life of a RUclips creator🤣

I have heard that many people consider Harbor Freight a lending library when it comes to tools. They buy them just to use them one time and then return the tools for no good reason. I have bought some nice tools for 50% off retail price due to these sorts of actions. Their loss is my gain I guess🤷♂️

That one looks much better than the hand pump one I have. Think it was called a siphon pump. Mine is much slower.
The pump I have has been a champ so far. It has pumped at least 50 gallons of gas without issue.

No, I missed out on that promotion. I heard that there were some places that ran out of gas early in the day. I wouldn't have minded a few cans of 93 octane for my truck😂
Have you dissembled one of these to see what pump it has and also try to unclog it? I have one now that won't work.
No, but that would be a great idea when this one goes bad. I would be afraid that after I tore mine apart right now, I wouldn't be able to reassemble it to use it again.
They were recently on sale at the store for like $8 each. That's still not a bad price for a transfer pump as long as it works.
I bought two of them and neither one worked. The motor propeller turned but no fluid. Trashed both of them.
That's a bummer. The only issue I had with mine so far was that it went through a set of batteries. I'm guessing this is like most Harbor Freight items of the past, sometimes you get a good one and sometimes you get crap.
it wont transfer 15w30 oil though

3 volt power supply is really Stupid !
For a small pump, it impressed me. It doesn't claim big power, but does exactly what it claims.
