An absolutely beautiful film in every way. And the de-aging technology here is a million times better than anything new films have done the past 10 years. Truly unique and wonderful filmmaking here.
I wouldn't say a million times better. Kurt Russel in Guardians 2, Samuel L Jackson in Captain Marvel, Michael Douglas in Ant-Man, David Harbour in Black Widow, even Alfred Molina in Spider-Man: No Way Home. That type de-aging is considered to be the best in the industry.
This movie is unique for sure, but you can also call out something's uniqueness without shitting on something else ;)
@BlinkAChu okok I can't argue with that. I guess it's just my personal opinion. There's just something.. off to me about the de-aging work in films these days.
James Cameron: 👀
“We’re meant to lose the people we love. How else would we know how important they are to us?! this quote killed me when I saw this beautiful movie. It continues to find me, time n time again.
That quote makes no sense though. Every normal person already knows how important loved people are to them before they lose them already
@@jasonvoorheescampblood ya believe me I’ve contemplated this many a times, I always come back to do we though?? Idk we all live different lives.
@@jasonvoorheescampblood The quote makes no sense on the surface but I think it alludes to the acceptance of life, death and loss.
This movie was probably one of the most memorable movies I've ever watched. I first watched it when I was 13 or 14 more than 10 years ago and I still remember it.
It's a movie that'll definitely stay in your head for the rest of your life, at least for me.
🤌
Im so glad you brought up this movie, it really deserves more recognition. It gets compared to Forrest Gump a lot, and I see it, but this is more about the limited time we have, how temporary everything is, and how our paths will cross but we all have our own journey
Losing a child is traumatizing. I was just crying about my daughter having died earlier today and it happened more than 10 years ago. It never fully goes away, it stays with you. Always.
So sorry to hear!
@@ItsAPrimatee thanks man
I’m so sorry. My heart is with you.
@@correypeta that is sweet of you to say, thank you. I feel a lot better now. It hits at random. I don’t think anyone could survive losing a child if the peak of pain was constant
my aunt always said "money is time and time is money." I always took that that to mean that time is the only thing in life that is truly valuable because no matter what you do, you can never get it back. great reaction ❤️
26:33 *Or Daisy could've just NOT pirouette down the road lol*
This film has always been in my top 5. Thank you for reminding me of this absolute gem x
This is one of my all time favorite movies. It's really nice to see it get recognized every once in a while.
"Meet Joe Black" is a good one too if you like Pitt / this movie
This movie is like a dry pain. You don't actually cry, but it just hits you so hard the whole way though and even when its over, you just feel emptied of all of your emotion as if you had cried it all out.
Yes! This is a rollercoster of stories, i'm ready for this reaction 🤗
This movie, The Green Mile and a few others always gets me man. Love the reaction
Perfect Sunday morning movie to watch when you have peace and quiet in the house. Great movie.
We all need to watch movies like this every year or so to remind us of our mortality and to value every single day we have.
Great reaction and i THOROUGHLY enjoyed your "rambling"! This is a top 20 movie for me.
I just had a relationship end with someone that was 15 years younger than myself and the initial pain of the break-up stung...but you are 100% correct, she needed to be selfish and take advantage of the amazing career opportunities that she worked hard for and i needed to accept that it wasn't anything that i did...it just wasn't meant to be.
Your message came at a perfect time and resonated deeply with me!
I've been binging your GoT reactions over the last week and i think you're doing a great job and you are highly entertaining and good at this! Keep it up yo!!
Thanks man, sorry to hear about your relationship! Time heals all :)
This movie breaks me every time its such a beautiful movie...I watched it in the cinema when I was 19
Thank you for your content, my g. It’s about time that someone else besides me enjoy the message of this film and be able to analyse everything in regards to the film and world around us.
🙏
The great playwright, George Bernard Shaw, once wrote, "It's such a pity that youth is wasted on the young." The quote seems appropriate with the theme of this movie. Wisdom with aging. Naivety with the young. Wisdom from experiences.
In a way, maybe the bright side of experiencing tragedy and hardship early in life and learning from it, we become a "Benjamin Button". You figure out early in life what's important and what's not. Wisdom gained and still with youth on your side. You have the eyes of what some people call, but not in the negative sense that most people see it (pun), of an "old man" but in a young body.
At 11, I experienced death of a parent and sickness of the other. I raised my younger siblings. Saw what was important in life. The "trials" of adolescence and high school, the Rat Race of competition of college, career/financial climbing, etc. Was never really stressed about any of it. Saw it more as a circus. Fun but not the end all.
Wisdom of the mind but coupled with the Wonderment of a youthful heart and Mind's Eye.
Love this movie and love that it makes you think of life as you venture through it. Almost a grittier Forrest Gump.
Most if not all of David Fincher's theatrical films are fantastic. So far you've done Alien 3, Seven, Fight Club, Zodiac, and now The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Hopefully in time you can check out the rest of his theatrical releases, The Game (1997), Panic Room (2002), The Social Network (2010), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), and Gone Girl (2014).
Saw this film with my father in the movie theatres down in Florida years ago and we both were pretty well entertained. Feeling a little nostalgic at the moment about that fact because it was always a great Father/Son bonding experience despite any and all differences we may have had in the past. But the Scott's and the Ferrante's are back in action and I'm thrilled that we have come together through a "meeting of our minds. Looking forward to the day where we can all get our crazy family together and enjoy the presence and support we can give to one another. I still have a lot to learn and am open to new ideas and working towards furthering that goal. Love you buddy...😊😊😊
I really love this movie. Life is crazy and if you don’t know what you want when you want it, it can and will leave you behind.
I was seriously holding back the tears there by the end lmao
Cate and Brad did what needed to be done. I can't see this movie casted any other way
“My name is Benjamin Button... and I was born under... unusual circumstances... while everyone else was aging...
I was getting younger... all alone.”
I remember seeing this in the theater with my friend and our moms
This movie more than any other help me refocus my priorities in life. Truly impactful for me.
you should definately react to the butterfly effect, i personally think it is severely underrated.
This is one of those films that everyone should just watch.
Poignant beautiful movie incredibly depicted in a wonderfully bittersweet way with amazing characters and perfectly convincing visual effects.
Oh man. I know what I'm watching tonight. I love this movie. I still remember the date I was on when I went to see this in theaters. My absolute favorite.
Butterfly Effect is sad, but has a cheesy, fun flip-around ending
Its weird how they dropped the whole queenie is pregnant subplot it was only mentioned once and we never see if she had the baby and never see Benjamin interact with him or her
Please watch Death on the Nile. It’s a mystery drama just like murder on the orient express with the same detective trying to solve a murder. It’s really good!
This is a great and sentimental movie.
Beautiful movie, I remember watching in theaters with my mom.
Awesome film. It ranks right up there with Forrest Gump and Secondhand Lions for me.
I remember this movie. Time for a recap.
I think there's not much difference between an old person with dementia and a young child, so both ends of life balance out. I think aging in reverse would be worse because aging the normal way you never really know when you're gonna die, but in reverse when you age down to about 10, you'd know you only had 10 years left
This one made my eyes sweat a lil🤣🤣
Darn sad movie, but so well made. Reminds me of Forrest Gump actually, though this has a generally heavier tone about it.
You would like Big Fish directed by Tim Burton with Ewan McGregor.
Thank YOU for doing a fun watchalong!
And THANK YOU, gordoman for suggesting this gem!
I just wished the daughter had a chance to be with her aged dad after the mom passed away :/
🤙
This movie grabs you and never lets go. It's a great movie that open up your heart and cries into it. It reminds you that things need to be seized and never taken for granted. =) It's beautifully sad.
Thanks I’m crying now lol
:)
Captain Mike is one of my all time favorite side characters
Yea this one was great
u should definitely watch The Butterfly Effect. The question is which version? Theatrical or Director's cut. They have different endings but the Director's cut has more scenes.
I love this movie. Makes me reflect on how short and precious life is
Quick suggestion for a movie (Public Enemies). Johnny Depp plays John Dillinger. Got an epic cast. Christian Bale Channing Tatum. Anyways stoner to stoner…the shit is epic.
One of my favorite movies ever. So glad you're watching. Love this for you and us!
Fincher’s most underrated movie. A masterpiece.
Always loved this film. So sad and yet so beautifl, just like life.
Whoa! Did not see this coming. Welcome surprise. I'm here for it.
Gran película
Great movie
This film is so beautiful, and enjoyed watching your reaction dude
Glad you enjoyed it!
DO BUTTERFLY EFFECT
You should definitely watch Moneyball next, it's one of my personal favorite Brad Pitt films and performances.
Okay I'm not a big bad Brad Pitt fan but I agree with you those movies are very good some other ones I've never really watched them but I know that the oceans 11 movies are very popular and he's in them and at least one of them he might be in the whole series I don't know but he's also in Mr and Mrs Smith with Angelina Jolie where they play a couple of Hitmen who were sent to kill each other
you are such a great reactor!!! LOVE ya man.....can't wait for more
Thanks!
I have a great fondness for this movie. Very underrated!
Thanks, great reaction. Legends of the Fall is a fantastic Brad Pitt movie also.
This movie is soo heartbreaking 😢
Love this movie. It's such a complex story. Very emotional. Another Brad Pitt movie I would highly recommend to you is "the legends of the fall". It's also an emotional roller-coaster and fun fact Julia Ormond who played benjamin and daisy daughter also plays in this film. You should really check it out sometime
This is a movie that you feel terrible after watching, even though it is so good
I just finished this movie Its just beautiful and touching, it gave us the glance of what life is really about. Love your thoughts about the movie at the end!
Also 44:56 I don't think it was a reference to Daisy just being selfish, but it was meant to show that Daisy was never like that and she just felt something towards Benjamin and thats why she left cuz Benjamin didin't feel the same at first.
There's something slightly off about this movie regarding the math. I think Benjamin aged backwards too quickly. By the time Daisy was 12 Benjamin was still in a 80+ year old body. It should've been the same the other way around. Benjamin should've visited Daisy in the hospital at the end of the move as an adolescent still remembering who she was. Daisy should've died first this would makes sense since she witnessed him in a state of vulnerability during their childhood years so it's fair he witnesses the same. Then Caroline the daughter should've been the one looking after Benjamin to make up for the bond she never had with her father. I think this would've added more balance and the ending would've been conceptually ironic.
Beautiful complex movie
All I see is Daisy doing all the hard work
primate, watch a whole string of Johnny Depp movies to support him! Sweeny Todd, Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Rango, etc.
you should react to the notebook (2004)
Saw this movie in a theater right after it was released. The good: I’ll give credit for an original storyline. The bad: I thought it received too much hype (see: overrated) and it was WAY TOO LONG. (That’s not just my opinion. Here’s an excerpt from a movie critic’s review: “It just goes on and on and on and on and on and on. And on.”). This movie clocks in at almost three hours! Two and a half hours in, I began to look at my watch…every five minutes…praying for the marathon to end. When the credits started rolling I was so stiff I could barely stand. Needless to say, I have no desire to watch it again. Even if I’m at home lying on my couch.
SAD MOVIES? ..... THE ONLY MOVIE TO EVER MAKE ME CRY WAS REIGN OVER ME.
Time is how the world works it IS the system, but, don't worry about time. What you need to worry about is your life and who you are and, are you here to make changes? Being a teacher, doctor, dentist etc is meaningless it's who you are as a spiritual creature eg are you a good person or not? That's what this experience is about do you care about being either of the two? We are told that if you are good time will never be an issue ever again and will pass effortlessly for you because you will be happy But, if you are evil time will move slowly! remember time is how this system works but it's Not About TIME!
You have to watch “High Life” with Robert Pattinson, you’ll definitely get blown away lol
2:49 Strap in! 😩
Please review Cloud Atlas with Hallie berrie and Tom Hanks
Thank you for this awsome reactiom
You should check out Sleepers also with Brad Pit , amazing movie, but a real tear jerker.
Glad you got around to this
Appreciated your point of view on the film....spitting facts....you get it.
Thanks man ✊
yep i love it too and glad u too now... :)
Woman have such double standards it's ridiculous. I've been in the same situation. Woman throws themselves at you and you reject it, they get pissed and leave.
If men do it, we're pigs, scum, only thing we wanted.
This movie if I saw the full thing I don't really remember it I just remember that it was a movie about reverse aging and how I thought the concept was so ridiculous but the movie was trying to take itself serious it sounded like it should have been a comedy but it was a f****** drama and I'm not here for that I mean not saying Brad Pitt can't do comedy I mean I mean he was in Deadpool 2 but he was only visible for like a second before he died he was part of the X-Force the invisible guy who got fried hitting the electrical wires and turn visible for a second when he died
There are lots of typos on your patreon page (mainly within the tier descriptions) that I really wish I could fix for you lol
I’ll look at it haha sorry!
You're the man, man!!
You should check out mr.church (2016) if you haven’t seen it
