Lets break it down. 1. Ruto as a DP is not a private citizen . Just like the President is not a Private citizen. Meaning every trip he makes outside Kenya should be known and purpose of the trip due to their elected positions and since they are travelling on tax payers funded money. As Dp, travelling outside the country as a private citizen is out of the question unless you are doing so because you do not want anyone to know what your purpose of your trip is. 2.. As Dp you are not supposed to travel outside the country to do private business as this is clearly a conflict of interest. "Using your office to conduct your own business on tax funded resources." 3. You only travel outside the country as Dp to represent Kenya interests and not your own personal interests using govt resources. So the govt was absolutely correct to stop Ruto's travel since the govt did not authoirize him to leave the country to represent the govt on "official duties", anything other than that is Private business and the only way ruto would have made that trip is if he resigns as DP and he can travel to whatever country he wishes since he is now a private citizen as long as the trips do not have a clandestine motive. 4. What was the purpose of the trip according to Ruto and his aides. We have heard different conflciting statements. According to Sudi the trip was meant to Bench Mark NRM political party. According to Ruto the trip to Uganda was a business trip which was part of openning a Pharmacuetical firm in Uganda in which he helped the firm get a 15b loan from equity. If this is true, the question now raises issues. 5. Why would Ruto help Ugandan firm get a 15b loan from Equity bank in Uganda, to help build a company in Uganda. One would think he would use his influence to at least get such a loan to build a factory in any place in Kenya as we do have so many needs. Of what interest was it for him to get Equity to loan such a colossal anount of money to a foreign entity and why not Kenya? These are questions that need to be asked. 6. Does Ruto have any financial insterests in the company? Was his support and campaign for Museveni during Museveni's reelection campaign now paying dividends for Ruto? Was Equity Bank Uganda squeezed by Ruto to give a loan to this company knowing the closeness Ruto and Museveni have? Which bank would give such a colossal amount of money on the basis of a DP requesting such a huge amount of loan? Was due deligence followed? Was Ruto in violation of conflict of interest using his postion as DP to get a loan for a favored company. 7.What if the business defaults on the loan meaning Ruto has put equity bank at a huge risk of insolvency, once again destroying a major bank akin to the Moi days of doing business where many institutions collapsed due to poltical influence, making decisions for selfish interests and not sound business practices. Now think if Ruto becomes President. Do we want to revert back to those days where businesses survived at the whims of the President? 8. Finally, this brings to question Rutos unsunctioned trips to Zanzibar and Congo. His relationship with questionable foreign characters like Aydin and one aspect thats been missed is the private jet he uses which is owned by another questionable and dubious American known as "Erik Prince" who has a very checkered past. Basically he is dangerous known to hire mercenaries to over throw govts and associates and does business with dicators. Just wikepedia or google him. " Erik Prince". In life you are known by the company you keep.
