Looking forward to seeing the progress with the lathe, I’ve done some work on lathes, self taught, but I thoroughly enjoy trying to improve each time, very rewarding work.
Common for what I remember, TD5's suffered from ECU oil in the engine harness and then goes to the ECU under the driver seat, I've had to replace the fuel filter head assembly on mine as it was corroded and in danger of leaking in air.
Ooohhhhh....... that lathe's gonna give you a headache, you're a sucker for punishment.... Landrover & a dodgy lathe! Loving the longer vid Crawford. Up that Bandit, cannae wait!!! ATB
Crawford every time you play Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones I go to answer my mobile because that is the tune I have on it,it gets me every time 🤣
Toolpost sits on the compost slide which sits on your cross slide . Your gunge was your gib for taking up slack or backlash .you can make it out of different materials
Great vid. Great news on the lame cow. She looks much improved. Might need to eat for a little longer but better than the alternative of not eating at all.
Yeah those new tyres are a step forward. Those 385's are trucktyres (well mostly trailers of course) and designed for roadwork of course. You don't see those on grain or silage trailers here in the Netherlands. We use em on baletrailers, but compactionwise we shouldn't.. But that's one nice looking trailer 😊 (i use a dolly trailer for bales, as it's flat around here it's easier)
Fuel gauge looked to be showing empty Trailer spot on and like your thoughts on getting a second hand low loader for digger Don’t forget to take breaker / cup back
Look at Camley Kim she completely restored a lade a few months back and done a super job on it 👏 and as for the Land rover just get rid and bye a Toyota . I have a 2002 land cruiser with 320000 miles onit never let's me down 😅😅
No need for one after sheds up, also slaughter house is hour and a half with discovery so if we ever get to putting 20 away at a time for the butcher would pay someone else/get a wee lorry. Too far by tractor
I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure I've seen lathe's going for around £400 that actually work. Also your Celebrations order is not far off perfect, probably chuck Twix right at the bottom.
Don't waste too much money on a motor "specialist". It is a 3-phase induction motor (no brushes), there isn't much to them so there isn't much that could go wrong. If the bearings are worn out then they should be fairly straightforward to replace.
Gate lady is miles off the mark. You’re close but no cigar, galaxy caramel is mid table… bounty is Everton, in about a relegation battle season after season.
Congratulations 🎉 😊
Great video Crawford. Adrian (I farm we farm) definitely very handy at repairing everything! Enjoyed watching

Totally agree, he love giving himself a headache 😂
Great vid glad you have caught up on them. It's great taking things apart and seeing how they work etc love these vids.
Great video today, bit longer than usual 👏🏻👏🏻 the more the better
ur cattle look happy on there straw bedding shed Crawford
Having a nightmare, all respect for you gone, BOUNTY IN THIRD !!! You might as well start supporting England in the six nations! 😂

like an episode from my mechanics towards the end there, love it. I would rank bounty in the top 3 though.
restore the old flat bed, and put a tool box, redesign the bed and paint and is a good project

Great video Crawford hi you must have spent some money on that Defender I know what I would be doing with it 🤦♂️😜👌
Great video, you are very good at taking things apart, any time I do that I forget how it is supposed to go back together 😂😂
So do i 😁
just play the video backwards@@CrawfordsFarm1
Great video, instead of getting another trailer for the digger just do up the old flat bed trailer in a way that will take the digger??

Thats the same lathe we got at school in DT, tis a nice rig when its running
The thing you took off, the one that holds the toolpost , is the cross sled.
Thank you

At 11:00, you might want to have The Gate Lady check your spelling. I have my wife check mine.😂😂😂

Any reason why it has a smooth floor instead the checkerd plate .looks slippy great trailer though 👌
Defenders problem Could be the non return fuel valves on the filter .?
I think the "FT" on your trailer stands for fast tow...as in its got air brakes. I may be wrong though...I was once before!🤔
You could well be correct
“My mechanics” is the standard you need to me aiming for….. it’s a stretch as he repairs things better than the manufacturer made them.
Alec Steel likes machinery too
22:30 cross slide
Landrover. Reliable as always...
😁😁
A whining sound in the landie and it wasn't gate lady, sounds serious.@@CrawfordsFarm1
I had a very similar problem with my td5 after trying injector seals and fuel pump it turned out the fuel filter housing had gone faulty
How long b 4 u put the hole lot in the scrap bin 😅😅, cos u 4 got how it's goes back together 😮

Where have the sheep gone that just wonder about the yard ?
Look at your earth on or around the transfer/ gearbox. Mine does similar when lose and you have had yours out.
Cheers will have a look
Side lights may have been over tightened when fitted 🤷♂️
Check the tank filter for sludge ?
It ll be the two earth wires at transfer box drivers side
Will have a look cheers
Hi crawford will you be macking the old Trailer in to a box cow trailer ??
I'd doubt it considering the new shed would get rid of any need to move large numbers of cattle
it would be good if you have to send beef to slorter @@ThingyGoos

Right now 3 at a time is sufficient
I would suggest 2 gallon of Greece in a gallon. Couple of gallons of oil, good electrician, and try and find a manual.😅😅😅😅😅😊😊😊😊
I know it’s not local to you but home and workshop is good firm for lathes and tools
Cheers
would it not have been worth getting a back board on the trailer incase you wanted to stack them round ways?
Hmm could add at a later date but think be fine without
There's a gauze in the tank of your land rover granted it stuffed. Happens our all the time
Where did Kev take the trailer of feed to? Was it the newrow farm?
Yard 3 👍🏼
@@CrawfordsFarm1 I used to work at the newrow farm before Mr Niven bought it.
Think we bought in 99
@CrawfordsFarm1 you did indeed. That was my boss, Mr Macintosh, who owned that farm, and we also used to work Williamston farm.
You could make your old bale trailer into a lowloader ! Another project for the workshop
Can hardly fix my defender 🤣
@@CrawfordsFarm1 keep a eye out at euro auctions for a low loader
Drop off whiskey in that drink it's going to get alot of cold ❄️❄️ coming.

Good lathe. But all of the bolts will be imperial. Including the alenkeys. Watch out for asbestos on the lathe.
26ft trailer will take 6 long on the sheeting, youd need 30ft to comfortably take 7 long i think
I thought you were going to get one that could be low loader as well
Sorry was a bit keen w that comment 😂
😁 was cursing you till i read your second comment
@@CrawfordsFarm1 sorry these bloody teenagers ain’t patient enough these days are they
Gordon whiteford would supply eggs maybe he might buy old sheds he’s up in moray I worked for him 😂
Hi there I had one off these wee lathes I'm near sure I have service maintenance book If I have it's yours maintenance maintenance maintenance
Is it too late to say number the parts as you dismantle 😂 Serious trailer envy😢😂
Yes far too late :)
Crawford put your gloves 🧤 on pure gate lady will have you 😊

I think the capacitor is only needed if you're running it off a single-phase supply.
Its been converted to a single phase
Told ya before Toyota or Ford Ranger YEP YEP
Lol it's a land rover, you spend more time under bonnet than behind wheel
injector seals
Sell the lathe and buy a new fuel pump for the landie with the money😂

Will b full of gunk if its sat still for 2yrs lol
Refab your wonky trailer into a low loader
I would say super glue but why pay that much for a shiz job of it and couldnt they be bigger.
