Guido, what I like about your videos and your photography is you don't feel to need to go to well known photography locations to be inspired - you are happy to shoot in your local woodlands - and at the same time get great results. This time you seem to have found a lovely locality for woodland photography in the south of France. It is not unlike the woodlands I photograph here in South-east Australia. With respect to aspect ratios, I shoot both JPEG and RAW. I like to have the JPEGs to remind me of what my intention was when I took the image, not only in regards to the aspect ratio but also whether I saw the image in monochrome, partial colour or full colour. On the matter of partial colour, I absolutely love these pictures modes in the Olympus and OM system cameras. Essentially they allow you to limit what part of the colour spectrum will be seen. They work beautifully in my local woodlands when the light is soft and diffuse. Some how partial colour in these conditions just seems to capture the feeling of the woods (or bush as we call it here in Australia) better than either the full-colour or monochrome modes.
Thanks a lot Dane i really apreciate this comment 🙂 I used to go out for photography and get back home disappointed to many times. So about 2 years ago I decided that I wanted to be able to take a picture In any condition or environment that I come across. So far this is really working out for me prety good I guess. Now days I have the feeling that there is bag full of ideas on my shoulders. If this doesn't work I get another one out. So you saying that it looks like I can find shots anywhere Is a huge compliment and it tells me that I'm going in the right direction. I think that is so the message that I want to give with my channel. We can take images everywhere we just need the ideas to be creative. I love playing with colours but I usualy just do it in lost processing. Did you know that you can even adjust the white ballance colour ij a raw files? Learned that a while ago and realy helps. I can see much better what I want to photograph. Thanks again for your comment and followong the channel. Its a huge support 🙂. Grt guido
Love to see your predictions were right. What a beautiful photos and the area is stunning. Love it Guido, and soo nice you got these treasures on your holidays!
Thanks a lot huub. Yeah sometimes I feel like a fog whisperer 🤣 there is much more of that stuff comming in a few weeks. I'm pretty happy with this holiday spend most of my time with the family and only went out when everyone was sleeping so didn't miss much family time and still had time to take some great images along the way. Next week the last episode of the roadtrip series... Grt guido
Great foggy atmosphere dude. Need to improve my prediction skills but you are nailing it with fog haha nice depth at 6:30 on yellow foreground with mysterious background of the trees. Loved the shot at 14:25 and 15:06!
Thanks a lot. I realy had my doubts about the shot at 6:30 with the yellow flower. It felt a little out of ballance due to everything in the midground being concentrated on the left side. Yeah I don't know what it is but I have a nose for foggy conditions I guess. There is much more fog comming in videos over 2 weeks or so. Had a couple of awsome mornings here in the netherlands 🤣 but maybe i will make a video about that. grt guido
Thank you very much. Did you also see the video I shot the night before this one? Same area and some stunning light conditions during sunset. Were are you from? Grt guido
hello thanks for your reply. i will go through all the past videos asap as i think i will learn so much form them. i am from Jeddah on the red sea west in Saudi Arabia. not much landscape here unless i go towards the east where the mountains are. when it rains things change so much. but also our deserts and the long aged acacia trees makes beautiful landscapes.
I always ask were people are from and every time im surprised again. Do much fun when reading people are from all over the world. Jeddah wow... the only l know is from the f1 race there. I always believe that there are shots everywhere but I have never photographed in a desert so no idea about that. I gues you don't have any atmospheric conditions like fog do that must be challenging. But who knows if this channel keeps growing I will travel to a desert some time 🙂 thanks so much for watching and your support realt appreciate it 😀 grt guido
yeah that F1 was made over my favorite birding shore 😡. anyway no here in Jeddah no fog but we have dust 🤣 during sand storms. btw olympus cameras are the best to have during such harsh conditions even for non weather sealed bodies like the pen f. wonder why they are not marketed here or in other Arab counties, that is a strong selling point. i know many photographers who spend hours on there belly in sands to get those tiny desert birds then they must send there most expensive bodies for service to remove the dust. i never had this issue. but there are places one can see fog on those little towns on the high mountains just 80 km away form Jeddah, nice pleasant weather at summer. and now i know what to do will try some landscape shots when i go.
@@ammadoux yeah its amazing how good the weather sealing is. I once saw a video of one of the Dutch ambassadors. He fell in the ocean waves woth his camera while shooting in iceland. Then god back to hotel and just out the camera under the tap to wash of the salt. No problem at all. I almost never have any dustspots. Knowing how much lenses i change during a shoot it surprises me every time. Didn't even know there were mountains in saudi arabia. The only thing we learn is desert, desert and more desert.who knows would love to photograph a proper desert once. Grt guido
Hello Guido Amazing landscape and great images. The last one is realy the best :-). In another comment I told you from my foggy boat trip last year. If you are intressted to see some pictures, the slideshow is named "Misty morning". Will see you in another video :-).
Thanks for watching. Will have a look at your video. That last shot is the best isn't it. Funny I didn't see it when I shot it. Inrember taking it and thinking hmm this isn't working so no need to record video 🤣 so I guess this is qhy I never erase images on location... thanks doe watching again realy appreciate it 🙏 grt guido
Hi Guido. You seemed to like my detailed comments in some past video so in the same spirit here goes: 3:58 b&w nice I so seldom think to switch to that. Or perhaps the picture just looks b&w because of the light (?) 6:30 great idea of timer and bending the foilage back, should add to my small arsenal of tricks 7:55 you in the picture made it a different result! While you did not bring it up, the orange brown soil on the center left makes a LL towards you as do the yellow and non yellow bushes on the right converging on you... However it might still have been a good, but different, picture without you in the frame. 11:10 like it and I understand what you are going for..but for me the yellow flowers feel pushed up against the left edge of the image. Since you edit (?) in post suppose you had taken a slightly wider shot or a composition that would have given the flowers room to the left and then clone out the unwanted shrubs to the left? 11:30 I prefer this shot to the one at 11:00. Lots of colors with a warm and distinct foreground juxtaposed with a cooler and fuzzy background which makes a dynamic in an otherwise motionless but beautiful shot 15:25 good composition including balance and sort of rule of odds. However, personally I am not so much into fog photography when the fog is the subject so to speak. Perhaps others are better positioned to comment. Seeing Nigel Danson in ruclips.net/video/xrBM4j13c-Y/видео.html chasing fog all day, while an entertaining and educational video gave me a mild allergy to PURPOSEFULLY planning on a day of fog photography. Not that I never take shots with fog as the idea, instead for me it can be a happy coincidence that it turned out. But hey different photographers, different interests, different styles, eh?
Thanks a lot Joe. Another great comment the reason why I put those flowers on the left side was because the other side of the flowers bush was completely burned of and black and just didn't look great. So i tried to positioned it on the left and hoped it would balance with the colours but I agree that it wasn't the best shot. The shot with myself in it actualy had some additional video footage of me talking about those leading lines you mentioned but somehow my microphone didn't work there so had to leave it out. I actualy realy like images with fog as subject. Love nigel he is amazing in woodlands. The black and white images were all turned in post processing. I never shoot bw on location. Always do it in post but I rarely do it. I just love colours I guess. That's for watching and your great comment. I really think they will make the channel better when I know what thoughts of people watching are 🙂 grt guido
Great Fun Video. Trees and foggy atmosphere.
Thnx
Wow, what a morning! Those trees and that fog! To die for! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching and the kind words. Yeah this was an epic morning. I'm having a lot of those lately but that's for the next few weeks 🤣 grt guido
