We have had tons of datamined info come out regarding phase 3 of season of discovery which means we can start theorycrafting builds for our classes heading into this next phase.
Today ive picked out 5(ish) classes and specs which are due to recieve updates that I think are really going to help them power up.

Looking forward to level 60 phase. I quit after I hit 40 because of all the min maxing. Getting a raid spot as a fresh level 40 halfway through the phase is near impossible. The game meant for casuals turned out to be not so casual friendly. Thanks wow community, you’re the best.

The 2.6 modifier for warrior crits is incorrect. Impale adds a flat 20% to crits, bringing the modifier to 2.2, not 2.4. Likely the rune will work the same, bringing the modifier to 2.3 with impale, not 2.6. (It's a % of the 100% "bonus", not the 200% "total")
while i agree on impale, the wording seems to be different for the rune as it say critical damage, while impale clearly say critical strike dmage bonus. Would result to something like 2.42 ?
@@MilouBack Maybe, Blizzard is infamously bad with improperly worded or misleading tooltips, so it's hard to say which way it works for sure.
Pro tip for Ele shamans! Use Rank 1 Lightning bolt in pvp to stack up lightning shield charges as you kite with frost shock since it is a very very short cast time and basically free.

Based on current warrior sims, dualwield fury and gladiator stance are within a few percent of each other, with 2h arms way behind.
Was that before or after the buffs on shield slam?

@jamesn3122 you don't even cast shield slam. The current meta simming for Gladiator Stance consists of specing 13/28/0. Enough points in Arms for Deep Wounds and you'll spam devastate. Deep wounds carries your damage, and since you're in gladiator stance you can make use of improved execute.
2h arms is going to pump with the new set gear giving warrior a 5 percent chance to get another another attack with their weapon. Do sword spec. the epic sword with +8 sword skill. Taste for blood with overpower ever 6 seconds. swift hand.
I don’t think you understand how BUSTED this 2h sword set up is.
Honestly for warlock it looks like 6/30/5 is going to be best for “affliction” builds so you actually get damage bonuses on your Corruption. Master Channeler is going to be extremely shadowed by Demonic Tactics.
I think Gladiator Stance's best case is that it's useful for levelling (if it's accessible early) and maybe niche in PVP
For affliction: As long as you can't life tap during baseline drain life anymore it's hard to imagine not using master channeler over soul siphon.
You have to realize that rogues arent going to use these new poisons at all unless deadly brew gets reworked. Putting armor shred poison on your offhand gets rid of both instant poison AND a potential improvement like a sharpening stone or weapon oil. That dps sacrifice is so large that you legitimately take less of a hit from just manually applying Expose Armor. Blizz is gonna have to address this with a revamp to deadly brew...

@@caseybrown6813 nah u don't get the point. For example in a 10 man grp with 4 melees your poison Benefits those other 3 with maybe 2-3% more physical dmg as other armorepen abillitys. You self loose 15%dmg. So the Overall Benefits get dimished/ negated.

@@caseybrown6813 okay so you got 20 man. IEA was only viable with an uptime way above 90% in a 25 man raid without that hugh dmg loss. So my point still stands. Its just stupid to give a minor utillity with that Kind of drawbacks.
Glad stance offers 10% damage increase. Warriors have CBR, Flag for a total of 45% increase to dmg from all sources. Glad warriors will be stacking deep wounds and getting flat dmg increases on it.
Deep wounds is like 980 ticks 20 seconds into a boss fight.
Is retri with 18% holy crit on head and 7.5sec cd exorcism gonna be good ? Remember we got feet rune ,that resets our exorcism cd with each crit..
I see myself next phase spamming exorcism and boosting my spl dmg ( think u can call it Shockadin then )
Ret will loose as always... dont forget, we wont have a crowd pummler and will loose alot of exorcism dmg because of it, because they didnt make our shit stack with spell dmg. We gonna be behind as always.

Shockadins also get something VERY interesting. Especially the Spellpower variant. Not because of runes, but rather: Items.
Because that one wants to equip a caster weapon with high attack speed. Which does not exist in P2, except for the Glimmering Gizmoblade, which is a dagger. Paladins can not wear daggers.
With the new STV weapon that changes. A holy-damage buffing caster sword with 1.5 attack speed. This in addition to the new PvP Set will likely result in IOF-Shockadins becomming a playable spec for raids (Not the best in terms of DPS, but reasonable in terms of DMG with the option to switch to healing for emergencies).
Probably will be a fun spec for PvP too.

I feel like if arms only stays in battle stance flaggelation is a bit if a weird pick, im curious to see how arms shakes up for what exact runes they end up on
I might be missing something but for rogues, is never gauge not better with ss > saber? assuming u went full combat.
Also why are you comparing the poisons with Humi when its 1 button vs 3 poison slots on a 2 weapon class which will probably prio WF over anything

Lightning shield "never loses charges" doesn't mean that it won't still last only ten minutes though.

I think if you can get this aoe rune early or get ur guild to help you , with all the other aoe stuff, molten blast, enchant body, oil of immolation, will make it one of the best tanks to farm dungeons with right ? 🤷🏻
did Blizzard forget they added tanking rogues? they havent sorted any of its issues, and they have added a rune, which will be useless, if its 1s icd on ANY target instead of 1s icd PER target.

I think affliction warlocks will run SM/Imp SB+Bane. 0,5 sec cast time reduce on shadow bolt is still going to be the best. It will be similar than affliction in TBC.
Your right i have already been testing and preping and my filler will be SB and i will run Master Channler because that makes drain life do massive damage every second! People seem to overlook how good Master Channler really is and it will just be rolling while you cast Shadow bolts. Having both at the same time is definitely better than choosing one or the other rofl. The only problem I see is how low of a Crit percent chance I have even with BIS. We might have to use demonic tactics on chest but I really really hope not.
Thus…removing master channeler?

Just an fyi, the ranged hunter is going to be trash still. The steady shot buff was already live, and its still bad. And the 75 bonus rap on trueshot only adds about 15 dps. Because still hunters don't scale for crap.
If they want to fix ranged hunters for pve without breaking rhem in pvp its actually VERY simple.
Put rap scaling on serpent sting and fire traps, reduce damage chimera shot gets from serpent sting to 15-20%. Scaling issue fixed.
Ya I don’t know how you can think ranged hunter isn’t getting a massive boost. Trap launcher with lock and load gives you 6 chimera shots instead of a normal 2 paired with the tier set that will be up constantly because exploding trap lasts for 20 seconds with a 15 sec cooldown so the buff will be a free 70 ap and the new true shot is wilddd. Gives me 200 ranged ap base. I’m already hitting much harder and I don’t even have tier or lock and load. I’m very excited for phase 3 and beyond
paladin with hammer (aoe and the st one) seems pretty nice
Hunter trueshot aura add 150AP+150ranged AP at lvl 50 (they increased numbers on it too)
I’m most looking forward to my shaman and warrior, for sure. Ecstatic is the best word.

Protection warrior seems super bugged.
1) No threat compared to Shaman/Rogue/Warlock tanks, both single target and aoe is a huge problem!
2) No dps compared to Shaman/Rogue/Warlock tanks, again both on single target and aoe.
3) Strength doesn't seem to give proper block value (You get like 1 block value from 21 Strength?)
Threat/Damage on Shield Slam/Thunder Clap and Devastate definitely needs to be buffed, especially on Thunder Clap to make prot war somewhat viable for tanking more than one mob.

Honor Among Thieves for Rogues with an Elemental Shaman would mean a guaranteed 1 CP every time Fire Shock + Lava Burst is cast.
Really hope the change to Sniper Training is enough to make it viable! Seems like a good solution to a class fantasy that's hard to balance with the movement mechanics that usually follow pve combat, one that no other class has (using ranged weapons I mean) and an addition that might surpass even "future" iterations of MM
Also, since you called this video "biggest winners" do you intend to make a "biggest losers"? Are there any classes and playstyles that became less viable with the changes in p3? Is it too early or too nonsensical to talk about it before playing it?

He was mistaken. Lightning shield never loses charges. But will still only last for ten minutes. So, you can only snap-shot every ten minutes. Unless you keep a priest in your pocket and ready supply of other short-term spellpower buffs. You're going to run out. It's still amazing. Just doesn't last indefinitely like he stated.
Played MM hunter all through classic and was top five on the DPS chart. Unless your racing for server first it doesn’t mean a damn thing as MM hunter will do plenty of damage to progress through anything.

Yes you're definitely right, I don't think he's tried Nightfall with Master Channler because the proc rate is insane. I was actually raiding as nightfall/grim reach and shadowburn and I couldn't beat good Destro locks but I could hold my own, so I've been waiting for this. My only fear is that when they introduced Crits to dots in Wrath they gave us pandemic a talent for a 9% increase chance and we have nothing like that in sod. I only have 7% crit in bis so hopefully the new gear will help or worst case we might have to use demonic tactics on chest. It's going to require a lot of testing because I have tons of different ideas
Ima go flameshock three targets lightning shield them all and molten blast + magma and nova. Sheeeeesh!
If you read online you would think rogues have this awful time finding raid spots. All 3 of my friends and I have rogues and haven't experienced this at all.
I had to learn rogue tank this season just to get invited to groups :(

@@rashninja3941 Basically, certain abilities can keep buffs after the buffs have faded from the player. So for instance, you power word fusion a Shaman, they lightning shield. The power word infusion buff fades from the character but because lightning shield was affected by it and lasts 10 minutes, the power word infusion would still be active on the shield.

Approx. Values mean nothing if the poison requires level 60 to use as the tool tip clearly says. They may give it to us at 50 but that would be speculation against the only evidence we have on data mined info.

Honestly I’m kind of disappointed that Glad Stance requires you to have a shield. I’ve been looking forward this especially in pvp but needing to have a shield kind of ruins it for me

Yea shaman tank single target dmg while using shield was never an issue, did like 150dps, and now their mandatory wep enhancement is guttet because dps shaman and dual wield tanks we're abusing it. makes no sense.
@@guggen1412 the damage loss is not even the issue. i don't mind a setup where tanking specs do literally no damage. however they massively fucked up the ability for ST threat generation. nerfed rockbiter, scaled down molten blast. p3 for shaman tanks looks like auto attacks and lightning shield procs. rivetting gameplay and rng threat generation/damage mitigation - blizzard tuning in action
@lsdap1969 it gets worse, I'm afraid. As all the dragons and dragonkin in ST (new raid) have high nature resistance. So, there goes a lot of your lightning shield and maelstrom+chain lightning threat. Same thing with elemental shaman dps outside of flame shock and lava burst.
This is why I've gone back to old-school 2h enhancement for the next phase. It's going to be all about those auto's and windfury procs hitting as hard as possible.
@@keldor8302 I'm not gonna start super dooming until live patch lands and most things are set in stone, but yea that's one of the issues that will arise. Let's not forget that diabling DW tanking they're ridding us of 10% chance to hit with spells or melee attacks. Kinda hilarious when they nerfed all the threat generators and you end up with earth shock resisting every 3rd cast or so and auto attacks that are basically 1-1 ratio with threat they generate. Literally shaman tanks will require the whole raid to "wait 5 sunders" before they can start blasting. Pugging will be fun
From what i read tho dw enh dps isnt doing as bas as other specs so i guess that's what ill do this phase. Maybe p4 will have some more shammytank love

Doing charges on those poisons is a big design mistake.
I can see honor among thieves either being nerfed at launch or within the 1st few weeks or so. 1 cp basically every second is too strong

feral druid (cat) runes are actually so bad its insulting. might still have a spot on alliance. good luck on horde though. no way feral is brought over shaman

3% crit is valuable. And WS is better than windfury.
Runes are really bad but they are buffing us in other areas with the introduction of the druid specifik head enchantment (wolfhead effect), catnip and the set bonus for making shapeshift 30% cheaper. All togeher you can do some really impressive stuff as cat if you like power shifting.
Personally I HATE power shifting and I am sad that Blizzard are supporting this janky, band aid mechanic, but it is what it is. I will probably go resto this phase, but if you are into power shifting and like managing a lot of CDs/energy ticks this is the phase for you.
@@MrNotesofmusic I don’t think the overall dps output of the crit buff plus the small ap bonus will make up for the difference of shaman dps. Each shaman does 30-40% more dps than a feral
Rogues just have to take a 10% damage reduction to bring utility poisons. Why do the SoD devs hate rogues?
Cause rogues been griefin an queefin so long that… even their mommas think that their minds are gone!!!
Deadly brew is the only thing that makes rogue do a bit of dmg and be able to utelize wf and the only think they come up with is new poisons. We don't even use all of the old ones in pve. Just hate how skuffed some classes feel

Enhance main since vanilla here. Tank shaman will be nerfed within the first week that much passive aoe is insane when combined with fire nova rune. So will melee DPS shaman. The new ap to sp stuff is too strong for classic.

Glad warrior is looking to be top dps, you get deep wounds then put the rest in fury for death wish and 3 in flurry. you basically just spam devastate and do 2k dps

i see you spent 0 time actually looking at the Warrior Discord. If you literally just looked at the pinned comments in Fight Club youd see Glad Warr and DW are unfortunately crapping all over 2H Arms.
All melee classes will be better in ST just cuz of less armor on the mobs in that dungeon.
Warlock actually was a MASSIVE loser this phase.
Lost access to lake of fire for firelock and an entire section of runes became unusable
Lost access to soul link which invalidates the demonology tree for tanks (the only ones who used it)
Further buffs to the shadow playstyle that was already going to out-perform fire this cycle anyway
Tanks now are required to go destruction warlock
Two out of the 4 playstyles have been removed from the game. Warlock used to have a fair bit of actual customization but unfortunately blizzard decided that they were having fun the wrong ways.

I'm afraid you might be right. However the last 2 weeks because I was pvping so much I raided as Nightfall/Shadowburn and I definitely see some possibilities simply because the Nightfall/Master Channler proc rate is insane! It's going to take a lot of testing tho
idk about that now. the LOF nerf is going to be a massive change. because its not worth the 8 seconds in a fight to even get 15 seconds of it. and it would be a straight up 40% dmg nerf in pve. With the other changes to affliction i am of the mindset that it will totally flip the meta and destro just wont be played.
@@malgeo318we also get conflag giving use a blood lust amount of haste every time we conflag, so destro will stay superior. also 40% lof damage is not 40% of your overall damage there is a lot of modifiers for damage coming from the class that its probably more like 20%, but the best destros will still run it and probably only use it before the pull for some big initial damage and have tanks pull boss into it
@@seanpaterson6592 true we will see how it all shakes out in the end. I do think though that my uptime on is was like 98-99% and all my incinerate damage and chaos bolts will do 40% less now so not really sure but at the very least the specs will be much much closer this patch

The hunter runes are..... disappointing to say the least. I'm so frustrated that they are adding the stupid stacking buff to raptor strike (Assuming that rune is one of the real ones), was having so much fun with Melee hunter but now its gonna feel like a slot machine where your dmg will be determined by your raptor strike CD resets, really wish they made Focus Fire apply melee attack speed at reduced effectiveness as an alternative for people who don't like the raptor fury one. Ranged also got some extremely boring runes too, which is again, frustrating. There's so many interesting and cool things they could do but it feels like they are scared to take the chance there. I would love to see a rune that makes mongoose bite usable, something that turns Rapid fire into melee haste at reduced effectiveness, maybe something like wildfire bomb, Killshot, or Beast Within. Just more interesting things then 20% dodge and CDR on two abilities, one of which is completely useless. Would also like to see some better scaling for ranged hunters too. Hopefully there is some better stuff at 60 with some reworks to existing runes that are completely useless.

Lol, everyone is crapping on rogues, hunters and warriors ... as a druid main, we are holding everyone else up at the bottom as we are the forgotten. Feral dps needs to get some love..

Meanwhile mage heal is still pointless in PvP because our HoT is dispellable, and will continute to play the exakt same it has up until now in PvE with 3 buttons to press. Really wish they went a bit harder on the new specs that are possible now, not just focus on making old vanilla builds stronger..
I don't even give a fuck about temporal being dispellable. 0 pushback protection with 2.5 cast is horrible at 30 yards... your best way to heal in pvp is spamming preservation(which can also be dispelled btw...) which is like why not just play priest. the 2.5s cast is also horrible in pve, as arcane is haste based spec that we get 0 haste... Like at least give us reverse cata version, starts at 1.6s and goes up 0.2 after every cast dosen't even need a damage nerf, cause look at druids spriest direct damage at longer range and faster casting. And add on top of 100% missile pushback protection 70% to all other spells.
This would make arcane feel a lot nicer in both pvp and pve, only real downside 30y range which sucks in pvp as everyone is 36-41y...
My other thought was each element has a different way to heal, Arcane Direct healing, Fire HoT healing, and Frost Absorption, would open up more interesting ways to heal.
@@sciencethygod You've hit the nail on the head with this one. I didn't mention the spam healing pres because as you say, why not just play a priest in that case.. It's not a viable healing tactic for a spec. Look at what Ascension has done with chronomancy on it's own, there's SOOO much potential and cool things you can do.
I like your idea of the spell schools having different styles of healing but we gotta be somewhat realistic, the 3 devs working on SoD don't have the time to spend on making anything but the bare minimum to please a stagnating consumer base desperately trying to relive past memories through a new lens.

For warlocks AOE: destro will straight up beat affliction with backdraft(+30% haste) into shadowbolt volleys. Affliction will take too long to set up dots and then slow shadowbolt volleys. Not to mention trash will die too fast.
yea it feels like we will have to go destro for trash and affliction for bosses. with the LOF nerf it wont even be worth taking ever (maybe for trash with shadowflame) but affliction will just be more consistent dmg on bosses.

Dont know why rogues would run these different poisons when its a dps loss and a shadow priest can push 1 button and have all 3 debuffs up for 2 minutes? Pvp sure can mess with plate users but pve not really.

speaking as a shaman main who just played the STV event after the nerf, let me put it this way: im down from casual 1400 coins to scraping by with 700... dunno if this was because i was in a warrior group but this wasn't a problem before the patch where i was also in a lot of warrior groups.
blizzard have literally nerfed my AP from 1400 (with beta + double rockbiter) to 400 (with WF+Flametongue which is what they want us to run).
my health is down from 3.4k to 1.9k...
now i too can hit like a noodle and die in a single cheap shot, so i want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the community, this is the experience i was looking for. this reminds me of vanilla enhancement so vividly and im getting so nostalgic so thanks, i love having my entire spec destroyed.

@@henkzzt currently it's 3 button rotation, when raptor and flanking is on cd you will use wingclip for wf chance. And then you'll have your cds
I really do hope overcharged for shaman tanks is a thing and does well for aoe threat help too, because unlike paladin tanks that can drop concentration with unlimited targets, shaman tanks molten blast only hits up to 4 targets. I'm hoping overcharge does well for helping with more target threat as we tab molten blast, especially by end game 5mans that have more mobs in pulls at times.
We were already great at aoe with magma/fire nova rune.
