The Cross River Rail segment is wrong. CRR is the third rail crossing over the river. It's being built because one of those bridges is at capacity. And there is an existing rail and ferry network, not just buses.

Correction: the tunnel does NOT go under the bay. The only bay in the Sydney metropolitan area is Botany Bay. The Sydney Metro will tunnel under Sydney Harbour, which is part of the Parramatta River.

Не предполагал, что в Австралии такая обширная дорожно-транспортная инфраструктура. Мне чаще попадались видео с уходящими под горизонт грунтовыми дорогами и плетëными заборами... 😊

Brisbane has a massive suburban rail network even bigger then most of the networks in the US. We have busses and river ferries that are catamaran style boats we call the citycats and smaller free ferries we call kittycats

Also melbourne is the most populated city in australia

    • @vintageradio3404

Only because Chairman Dan stole a hick town called Melton and declared it a suburb of Melbourne, despite there only being one road between the two places and a fairly rough rail line served by small DMU trains. When Sydney does that at least there is a full electric train service with high frequency services and a supporting road network. As such, Greater Sydney's population is 5.4m.
Even the rail service between Sydney and Newcastle is far more frequent despite the distance between the two being greater.

Bruce highway is shit up north near where iam from like central qld rocky and Gladstone what they need to spend money on is a four lane highway from the bottom of Australia to the top it will make less crashes and have the speed limit 120 and in some small spots no speed limit like they have over in Northern Territory

These projects do not seem large but why are they so expensive?! $133 billion for 90 km of railway?? That's ridiculous. The newest underground line in Singapore cost $25 billion for about 45km of underground metro. Australia is shooting itself in the heart with such expensive infrastructure projects.
