  • ADAMTS13, a protein, helps regulate clotting by cutting through von Willebrand factor, which catches platelets and helps them clot. Inhibiting ADAMTS13 can cause TTP (thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura), a blood condition in which excessive clotting occurs in the body.
