I would maybe choose hunter instead, just because of the extra damage, slight increase of speed (so it's less likely for them to get separated but can still outrun a lot of things) and nothing really complex to figure out. But I also cant fully remember if the hunter's rep follows
I play rain world with my mother too! she's glad she's not alone. the only areas she doesn't like is the exterior and and sky islands. We are getting close to the end tho, good luck for you guys if you are trying to beat the game!
"other people will laugh", no, not at all. this warms my heart. ive played rainworld with my mom, too, and it's a hard game!! what matters is that our parents are spending the time getting into our lives and interests.
Personally I think rivulet is the best one for beginners because it's able to fight back when needed and can eat batflies while still being able to escape predators easily, but Saint is also good... then again I'm not sure if someone who probably hasn't played games before could successfully learn to even stun a lizard let alone kill one lol
I did this with my mother and my brother once, my brother was gourmand, I was spearmater, and she was survivor. It was basically about 30 minutes of pure insanity whilst we try to get into our first 2 shelters.

This seems like a terrible idea haha. Fr though, I've been playing quite a bit of Rain World with my little sister and she absolutely loves it (except the spiders). It seems like the hardest part of Rain World is the learning process and the need to experiment. When you have someone guiding you, it becomes quite a lot easier. The beautiful artstyle and gameplay of running away from enemies instead of fighting them almost makes this a good game for gamers with less experience when guided by a more experienced player. Of course, it's still rain world though lmao.
Ive been trying ti teach my mom rainworld too but i dont have jolly coop and were on oc so its hard and shes the kind of person who needs a set goal but also doesnt want me interfering by telling her what shes met to do like shell go 'i dont get what im supposed to be doing' and ill say 'well rn try to get to lttm' and shell be loke 'no spoilers' so now all i say is 'follow iggy' lol
how did you get your splitscreen to work? i tried using the splitscreen mod but its weirdly glitchy, doesnt work half the time, and constantly flips who is who..

I think the best slugcat for a mum (or a pap) is the rivulet! Quicker movement, less worry about drowning, and no difficult mechanics to think about.
