I love how truly joyous X-Japan's version of "Ode to Joy" is.
Michael Pena hide is the best aswell as sugizo since he join in 2008
My Mom and I always shared a deep affection for Ode to Joy and whenever I miss her, sometimes I listen to it. Though I miss her more often than I listen to it. ♥️ Love this version too!
one of the most memorable guitars in history
I love how they all look like they're actually having so much fun with it too
Was looking for a good, metal OtJ. This is the best I've found so far.
this footage is literally joyfull.
I have this DVD. I bought it while I was in Japan a couple of weeks ago.
Watched it yesterday for the first time, and recognised it, I was like, awesome.
I love classical music pieces that are turned into rock versions. They always sound good.
Of all of the covers of ode to joy, Beethoven would love this best, he was the first rock star.
Daaaaaaaamn! Ode To Joy is a special song to me, the first real one I learned on saxophone but played by X? Hell yes \m/!
rock meets classico.... this is what you get people, AWESOME MUSIC.

Freude, schöner Götterfunken
Tochter aus Elysium,
Wir betreten feuertrunken,
Himmlische, dein Heiligtum!
Deine Zauber binden wieder
Was die Mode streng geteilt;
Alle Menschen werden Brüder,
Wo dein sanfter Flügel weilt.
And the European Anthem. Salutations to the late Hideto Matsumoto (Hide). Never forget. Rah!

Wait... Why haven't I heard this before?
this is a part of the greatest symphony from Beethoven, Ode To Joy from Symphony no 9
Muhammad Soffan Wachidin I know that :D I just haven't heard this version before
Strange, the bootleg of this same show (1993.12.31) was on the internet , and the oficial dvd was launched in 2007 i think, so this is a very old video xd
Realy awesome
Das ist ja MEGA COOL! !!!!!
I totally agree with you. It's a little hard to imagine a Japanese vocalist, specially Toshi, doing nothing in the stage.
Это самый лучший вариант рок-версии что я слышал.
BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Хотя самому Бетховену могло бы не понравится ....
the hair is best... nippon rocks...great :-)

This has made my day!
@werewollz It's he. He gets so into the music, he started to shout and run and jump almost nonstop hehe. He has a good stage presence, in short.
They played this song in the middle of another. What do you expected?

AWESOME!!! 5*****
niiiiiiiice!
Where can we apply a demand in order to use an extract of this video in a cultural context (audio editing for an art exhibition devoted to Beethoven)?
excuse me,
did not know them!
Yes, it is ^_^
Genial. 💯👍👍👍
最高!さいこう♡
@JulianPheaz Julian, X Japan were the innovators of the subgenre "Visual Kei" which is popular in Japan, and growing in popularity around the world. Have a look at WIKIPEDIA's entry on Visual Kei as well X Japan. Don't mistake the androgynous costumes with similar charactersitics in EMO, which has its roots in Goth.
if germans and japanese work together :-)
Is there tabs for this?
@JulianPheaz Where are you seeing emo in this video? There's nothing emo here.
ur right
When the evangelions have been launched and are kicking arse

Did you know that at this performance there was an an attempted terrorist attack? It was thwarted by a vacationing NYPD detective.
I didn’t. Do you have any sources so I can read about it?
@@TimePinkRanger Sure. ;) ruclips.net/video/jGs72rQVGic/видео.html
"Their pop culture is just a few decades behind the US, that's all."

The original rock version is 3:20 into this: watch?v=7pqKKxijKNA
Get me that all these fat humbuckers and 'big' amps still sound thin next to Ritchie's MagnaFlux pickups and 3x Marshall Major 300w heads! :o)
i wonder if beethoven had a mohawk and played ode to joy like this... :D
hahaha....
ode to joy visual kei style.....
This song makes me want to split open and spew forth tiny versions of myself, all playing this on various instruments. This is the sort of epic that is infectious and will make everything you do more interesting. The singer should've just sat this out though. The "C'MON" got kinda annoying after the second time.
