I have an old 336 in 35Rem. I use see through scope mounts with an old Kmart scope. Irons for fast target acquisition then transition up for a precision shot with the scope. Works beautifully! When my sons hunt with it they are the third generation generation to use it.
Just dragged my 336C out to clean it up a bit. Haven't shot it in quite awhile. Bought it when I was 19. 1979 to be exact. Black walnut. Fit and finish are fantastic. Going to look at those Skinner sights. They look great. Thanks for the vid!
Glad you enjoyed the video. I love the Skinner sights and personally I just shoot peep sights better. The guys at Skinner also impressed me with their customer service. Thanks for supporting our channel and let us know what you think of those sights once you get em :)
I agree Eric, iron sights forever! Well, almost forever anyway. Hopefully you too will live a lot of years and reach the age where your eyes won't focus on distant targets and the front sight blade like they used to. That's when a scope on your favorite 30-30 suddenly becomes cool and your new best friend. I can see the day may come when I install a RED Dot sight on my everyday conceal carry Glock 30S and that really sucks.
Great video! I’m thinking of getting the same combination. Can you tell me which height front sight you ended up getting? How much did you have to file it down? Thanks again!
You should check out the xs sights. I know you said you like open sights. well it gives you that plus more options if you decide to change it up a bit.
I have tge ss model that came with the skinner sights on back, has a focusable halo too? And has front Bear Buster off a .450 that finishes it off nice... It’s the crown jewel of my little armory
your skills at shooting off hand are way better than most. Did you have any trouble initially with your buckhorn sight shooting high with the original front post? I always had to buy a taller post and do some filing down for final sight in.
I have a 2017 Marlin 336C ..great rifle. I was thinking about ordering a Skinner peep (the brass and black combo). Any issues with shipping from US into Canada?
I indeed am Canadian. The previous bans in 2020 cost a lot of law abiding firearms owners a lot of their legally obtained property. With their proposed new bans, he will destroy competitive shooting, businesses and a large portion of hunting. All for no gain in public safety. I am firmly opposed to any and all bans. Criminals shooting people with illegal guns know that murder is already against the law.
Good work. My brother advised me to put peep sights in my 94’s and the .336. Boy was i glad i took that advice!!

Good deal Michael. Get that bugger out and make some noise!!
I have the 336C in Curly Maple. Just got it. I hope to shoot it tomorrow.
They are great looking rifles! Let us know how it shoots. Thanks for supporting our channel :)
Looks cold up there! I think the lever action looks better with the iron sights than a scope. A scope just feels wrong on a lever. Great video!
I personally just like the look and feel of the irons of this rifle. Its just a great shooting rifle :) Thanks for your support!
Yep I was having a hard time holding the rifle on target due to the cold haha. They are great fun to shoot though. Thanks for your support :)

I have 1978 336C, I’ve been thinking of putting the Skinner sights on it. Thanks for the video.
You are most welcome. I totally love the Alaskans on mine. Thanks for supporting our channel :)
Simple + effective = win!
For sure
Great video! I’m thinking of getting the same combination. Can you tell me which height front sight you ended up getting? How much did you have to file it down? Thanks again!
The front sights were 3/8-.650 and I did do a bit of filing on it to get it just right ;) Thanks for supporting our channel!
What height front sight did you go with?
Amazing my dude!
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for supporting our channel :)

Shot mine yesterday for the first time. Love shooting 30-30. Just need to sight it in better with my scope.
They are great fun to shoot! And that curley maple is a beaut! Thanks for supporting our channel :)
The bluing was for refinishing the top of the front sight if you had to file it down.
Yep I used it for just that purpose. Thanks for supporting our channel!
I love them peep sights on a marlin and a Winchester rifle lets go hunting 🍺🥃👍🇺🇸❤️
amen brother.

That sounds like a great setup! Thanks for supporting our channel :)
I hear Walter barking after each shot 😂😂
Yep that is an issue shooting out in the field :)

Yep. I got the taller one also and filed it down to the right elevation .
@@BlackBearOutdoors Never understood why rifle mfg's cannot install the correct front post height to begin with is beyond my understanding.

It and finish is way better.

Hi. What height front sight you went for? Thanks
@@Daniel-xq7ny Seriously can’t remember but the guys at Skinner will be able to advise you on which height to get for your specific rifle.
