Gheorghe was a foot taller and 80 pounds more than Dennis and Dennis still guarded and battled it out with him. Its amazing that Dennis could guard powerful centers like Shaq and guards like Magic Johnson. Dennis was a special player.
Yea Dennis Rodman was a beast on the boards
Low center of gravity & his thighs/hips look how well he guards them & denies them their spots especially Shaq
I love Gheorghe. Played him a lot in NBA Live 96, alongside CWebb, Juwan Howard, Calbert Cheaney and Robert Pack. Good times, lovely guy.
Wasnt it rod strickland on poing guard?
You are right. I just played with Pack because of his super dunking rating. Also often i played Legler instead of Cheaney.
Retire # 91 in Chicago now!
And 73 in LA!
Just reminds you how tough and physical 90s NBA was compared to today.......especially after the recent all-star game
Oh so very true!
😂😂😂😂
This is neither tough or physical.
Racking up technical fouls/ejections against a player that’s a foot taller is ridiculous
awesome to see Gheorghe Muresan get some attention. Rodman doing Rodman things allowing Bulls to attain legendary status.
Great clips of how body banging the NBA was back then
I remember vividly when I used to live in Chicago, we used to go watch games because of MJ but as time went on we were all there to see DENNIS!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
These clips are great...everyone under 40 ears old should be required to watch 80's and 90's before the go on and on about how physical the NBA is today...the offensive stats today be cut by 10-15% they had to play back then
Big George was my favorite player back in the day! He was one of the few players in the NBA who looked like he was having fun out there. (In general anyway, maybe not so much when Rodman was throwing those cheap shots at him.). He was just having a blast. His joy playing the game was so obvious that I always wore #77 in his honor.
The first game I ever saw in person was a Bullets home game and Big George was playing. When the teams came out onto the court, he was walking with one of his teammates. He was towering over the other guy, a full head taller. I pointed them out to my wife and said, "See the guy he's standing next to? That guy is 7' tall." (The other guy was Jim McIlvaine for those who remember him.)
Rodman giving justice to his nickname “the worm”.Muresan couldn’t get rid of him 😉
No one harrasses big's like Rodman.. unfortunately still never did get to seeing a Muresan game.. we only got 1 game a week in my country back then, you just inspired me to go see how he plays.. Do remember through highlight reels and how Goerghe barely needed to even jump to dunk.. Good thing he grew up in Ukraine.. gotta be tough to keep Rodman out of your head.
Great episode, I liked it!
Loved it!! Highlighting the Bullets, have you done a video on Mitch Richmond?
Crazy that Rodman was even guarding Gheorghe, that's got to be taxing.
Taking the high road and spelling his name correctly. Cheers
I appreciate you making a video about the big fellas, you gotta make one about the dunkin Dutchman Smits
Back when grown men played the game like their living depended on it.
Love the throwback BTM
Rodman's take on Larry Legend is dogshit but I love the dude regardless. He's fearless.
When Shaq gives props to a player, you know that player was somebody!! Great episode about George Muresan, that guy was the definition of hard work back then. Rodman just being Rodman, which is great, but he really had some cheap shots against George, who only played the game. Thank you for this episode, it really brought back some memories about the game back then! ❤️
you knew i would be here
Love Rodman 😂
8:38 Why Dennis stifled bigger/stronger centers his low center of gravity, hips, powerful thighs/legs with his motor he refused to give up anything on D. Muresean takes 3 power dribbles inside & don't move Dennis a inch & settles for a highly contested low pct 15-20 ft hook shot.
Great video!
Great Vid and interesting story line as I do not remember him. See ya next time BTM and look forward to the next vid production
I wunda how long has Chris been waiting to ask Shaq that question lol
Awesome video! He had some funny commercials and a men's cologne if I remember correctly.
I just watched The Suns vs Sonics Game 7 from 1993 on Hardwood Classics. You should do a video on Richard Dumas
Smells like cabbage George
That was cool I didnt remembered him anymore
DENNIS, THE NBA GOD...
Only 2 people i remember giving Shaq any kinda trouble and that was Dennis Rodman and Ben Wallace
And that chunky white boy Big Country Bryant Reeves (Grizzlies)
I wish the rules were still like the late 90s early 00s, yea they didn't score as much but to me it was better basketball it felt like every possession truly mattered and 3s meant more.
George Muresan damn it
Gheorghe, DAMNT!
8:50 Dat's Right...
I kept waiting for that Ivica Zubac forearm shiver, but alas..
When the NBA was tough.
Statistically it would not make sense for Rodman to throw himself out of the game together with Gheorghe, but seeing the videos it looks like he did it out of frustration which is really a rare thing. Mind game didn't seem to work well on Gheorghe and being a technical rebounder, he needs to be given chance to box, push, pull, move around to get rebounds but Gheorghe kept putting his giant arm on top of Rodman every time making him ineffective.
Wow, Rodman showed desperation
@BTM basketball time machine what team or teams have you coached for
Dennis Rodman a legend 🏀🏀
Do ya'll remember when Shaq smacked big country Reeves b4 the game even started it was outrageous and Shaq knows he was wrong fo that
Do an episode on Dave Corzine
Rodman was not master of game psyhology, he was just crazy 🤣
Manute bol was listed 7-7 as well
I know in the NBA you gotta be ready for everything, but Rodman was a jerk for messing with a nice guy like Muresan
Gheorghe Muresan cologne…hungry? why wait
Well, we definitely dodged a bullet there no pun attend it lol but yeah those tech should’ve been on Rodman, poor gheoge got the-raw deal there. What can you say the NBA is fixed 😅
All fishes go fo the bait lol
Muresan def had some dog in him. He jus needed weight on him as well
Who do ya'll think was better George or Shawn Bradley in my opinion I know that George is a better player than Shawn was and is
George Karl?
Who came up with the name Washington bullets?
What's wrong with the name?
@@Gergerpatpat not the Washington part. The "Bullets" part. That's wild.
Either it's about bullet news points or bullet trains I could imagine.
The name came when the team was still in Baltimore and were known as The Baltimore Bullets. My recollection is that there was a famous train on the old Baltimore and Ohio Railroad that was very streamlined for the day and looked a bit like a bullet.
@@GrantChina that makes sense. Thanks.
This is nothing btm u should've seen the all star game 😂😅😂😂😂 lol
Say George correctly. JORHE
Today's NBA is weak af
