Don’t listen to the haters about inflating game prices by just talking about games becoming rare. Your community looks for these as mainly recommended games to play and the way not only Nintendo but also Sony are not doing reprints and even limiting prints of majority of games so keep em coming. Physical media is coming to an end as we know it. The hay days of NES days all the way to PS4/Xbox One days are gone. Retailers brick/ mortar and online are not carrying as much inventory as they used to and from what I have been told by some retailers that I talk to, most games they get don’t get reordered once they sell out of their initial order is sold out. It used to be the retailers had agreements that they had stock so many games at a given time and if don’t sell retailers would either discount them and recoup some of that back from publishers/distributors or just destroy and write off the loss. They are now pretty much ordering minimum and then heavily discounting within 3 months after release to get rid of them. Xbox is dead for physical as MS will no longer sell physical 1st party games and 3rd parties are scaling back their print runs on Series X. Nintendo is pretty much last hope for physical media and even they are not printing as many games as they used to.
Yea it's definitely a shame that physical media is dying but, at least Nintendo has a good incentive to keep going strong with it based on Switch lifetime software sales. RGT85 also posted a video talking about how one of the major video game distributors here in the US went out of business and since then not as many games are being put out there.
It really is a great game. I need to go back and beat it because I got distracted with an RPG so I'm just gonna restart the whole game since it isn't that long.
There are so many retro collections out there for modern systems but the Switch physical versions tend to keep their value more. I think the ability to play these games in handheld mode keeps the value high.
What is really hard to find are the limited run games like Persona 4 and 3, the Valkyria Remastered even Astral Chain and Xenoblade Torna are hard to find nowadays😢
Ya know, I wonder if publishers know that collectors are willing to double dip, and thus will continue producing physical media to sell the same game twice.
I wouldn't worry too much yet, except for with limited releases. The tip of the iceberg won't really be passed for another decade or so. Right now, there's little incentive to make the games become too expensive. Because if you go too overboard with the prices, then people will just download the games instead, because those prices don't change. But therein lies the problem. Once you can no longer download these games, then it'll be all the more difficult for collectors of the future to get a hold of them. Because the number of copies that are in circulation will be limited by how many people instead downloaded the games initially.
Love the vid man. I bit the bullet and grabbed a non esrb copy of Final Fantasy earlier this year. Didn’t pay much more than retail but it is what it is lol part of me wants to grab this version too but I don’t think I actually will with Balatro and Romancing Saga coming out 😊
I just bought my copy of FF 1-6 pixel remaster collection on release day last week! I was so happy that Square Enix reprinted more of this collection. Fun Fact: This collection has the only 2D version to play FF 3 because the one that came out for the Nintendo DS is a 3D version of the game. So it's another reason to pick up this collection.
Thank you for including the info about TMNT Shredder's Revenge. I've been meaning to pick it up for a while now, and this is perfect. I just went over and placed my preorder at LRG. :)

I know LRG games aren’t normally mentioned but Castlevania Dominus Collection is only getting a physical run through them and today is the last day to get in. I just put mine in as I love Castlevania Series on DS but never got to play them all. I get all 3 on cart mollusk a remaster of an Arcade version of Castlevania as bonus 4th game. Normally LRG would do these Castlevania collections through partnership with Best Buy so you could get these as well through retail stores but with a cover variant for BB. LRG and BB partnership ended so this will be first Castlevania collection that you can t get without ordering direct from LRG
@@90shandheldgamer yeah it got good reviews for the digital and Konami partners with LRG to release physical of the Castlevania collections. Normally you could order through LRG or get the BB version in store but that is no longer option moving forward so LRG it is. All 4 games are complete on cart

Ninja turtles is an example of games no longer being rare on the switch. Three different versions of the game and counting. Limited run should change their name to limited reprints, super rare should be super rare reprints etc. final fantasy with the rating getting a reprint. I use to think switch games were great for finding rares. But these days standard switch games are dropping in price to an average of 20 to 30 dollars and games that reach the 100 dollar mark are getting reprints left and right or getting variants with DLC included, most games have at least three different versions from retro, limited edition, Best Buy, pax con versions and counting. It’s just getting stupid at this point. I think there’s some truth to the rumor that games companies not only don’t want you to own your games but don’t want your physicals to be too valuable as well. I was an avid switch collector. I quit collecting switch because it’s gotten to the point where I started to feel like a fool every time I proudly got a percieved rare to only find it reprinted and its value decimated. Iam done with these companies playing with my wallet.
@@90shandheldgamer I don’t see where games are not affordable 99.9% of games can be had for under 20 or 10 dollars. Every console has about a 1 to 5% amount of games that are expensive due to true rarity unlike the switch. You say you don’t care about a value of a game but if you’re holding on to those games after you post your videos than you actually do.
