only true masters have this humble down to earth attitude.

The more I see of Sensei Seki, the more impressed I am. So humble, full of knowledge, willing to share and explain, and pure controlled technique. He is truly a Master.

I have seen a lot of Battojutsu on RUclips but nothing even comes close to this Sensei's techniques. He draws his sword like water.

This is very inspiring and enlightening. I am always amazed how Japanese, especially, optimize movement. Balance and fluidity are amazing.

I’ve never seen a Japanese swordsman as fluid as this master. NEVER in 30+ years.

This. All his motions are so fluent, continuous, everything seems so precise and smooth. I could just watch him draw for an hour in repeat

When you walking, you hold your catana, but not wakatsasi. Is it seal in the shield more strong? How to drow wakidsasi quick? Is it different techniques?

How do you draw both the katana and the wakizashi at the same time if you intend to fight in a two sword style like Niten Ichi ryu?

Seki Sensei said that cutting mats was "a different kind of test" "separate from sword techniques". That was super nice of him. He's right, it was to test the Katana at the shop. A Samurai would never cut mats. That was left to the working class, below Samurai. Literally 2 tiers beneath him, in the class hierarchy.

Iv always heard that cutting tatami came from testing the blade was suitable for cutting, (hence it being called test cutting duh) and that they used to use it on human limbs of prisoners/criminals, there’s more to it than that but that’s as iv heard it, iv never heard this version and not to like, discredit the idea but I also always heard that to carry and own katana u would have to be a samurai, and that it was a privilege of being one.
