The changes I made to my 2015 YZ250F for trails were a throttle tamer, FMF Q4 pipe, trail tires, and gearing the bike up from stock (to 14/48). The pipe and tamer made the biggest difference in smoothing out the initial throttle. Stock I found the throttle to be very jerky and hard to use on the trail. Takes some work but the YZ250F can be a pretty good trail bike. The close ratio transmission is limiting and stiff suspension needs to be reworked as well, so it may be worth to just get the FX if you can find one used at a good price. Personally I found the FX bikes to be way overpriced on the used market so went with the F.
Nice video make sure you post more of your changes. I’ve got a 2018 250f and only ride single track with it. It can be a bear to handle sometimes but it looks like you’ve got that one to act like a tractor through the woods
I have a yz250f also with lower gearing and revalves suspension Its good on the trails but not great. A recluse clutch will be the best modification to make it a great trail bike

Thanks! Getting the suspension revalved at the moment on it. Anxious to get it out again soon.

Yes the rekluse worked great on my 250f!
@@whiskeythrottledave Sometimes I ride my son's kx250f that has a recluse and it's great the tight trails
nice
I have to ask out of curiosity why not just get a 250 FX or a WR250?
Good question. With the money I saved buying the 250F I was able to personalize the bike to my preference. Thanks for asking!
@@whiskeythrottledave you must have gotten a smokin deal on the YZ!
@@Dashriprock4 Yes I did!
