  • Today we've got MORE geodes to smash... except this time they're TINY little cuties full of crystals. They might be small, but don't underestimate them. They've still got some pretty cool stuff inside.
    Shoutout to my husband for being my resident geode smasher!
    All of these geodes came from Rough Stone Rocks. Check out my crazy $200 unboxing!

    Oh gosh, can unbroken geodes be tumbled? Would they survive that so they're polished on the outside and glittery inside once cracked?

    I just stuck my little geodes inside a sock and smacked them with a hammer.One was crammed full of very dull dirty white agate-y stuff,but the others were full of glittery quartz druzy.I was thrilled! Just found one of your videos in my feed,what,fifteen minutes ago? So I'm here checking out more and enjoying what I'm seeing.Rock on!

    I still remember that one time I found a geode in the wild. I was like: "Wtf is this? Why does this rock have white crystals poking out of it?".

    You might need a slightly smaller chisel for these ones. 😆

    Can you tumble the full ones to make them into smooth quartz? 😮

    Do shelled geodes exist? Like geodes with the rock (idk geology terms sorry) part taken off?

    • @moonriserocks
      @moonriserocks  Год назад +13

      I want to experiment with tumbling geodes, which would remove the “shell,” but I think what you’re talking about is quartz. Most geodes have quartz crystals inside them.

    How do you identify geodes? Also, where can you find them??

    • @moonriserocks
      @moonriserocks  Год назад +4

      I’ve never found them myself, but from what I’ve read you can ID them by the distinct bumpy texture and by the fact that they’ll be lighter than a normal rock of the same size would be. The good ones rattle when you shake them. I bought these from Rough Stone Rocks!
