I mixed a Zeon MS with a Kaiju. Design/one-off sculpture experiment.

- This was a four-weeks fun crazy project I really wanted to try to sculpt longtime.
One day I had this crazy idea of Mixing a sort of Zeon (something like a Zufock in Kondo style) Mobile Suit and a Kaiju.
Even if at the beginning I did couple of sketches colored in orange and red but i started to feel trivial, so during the process I progressively shifted to a more grayish color scheme. Even if mostly gray, it lights up thanks to 11 LED system, glow in the dark paint and fluorescent strokes which light up once caught by UV torch.
Other inspirations were also Kobayashi, Mamoru Nagano and Takeyuki Takeya
The inner frame is mostly done by scrap resin parts (lots of bubbles), leftovers of Kallamity productions and all the useless stuff I found around.
Epoxy putty I used: AVES APOXIE SCULPT ORANGE
Paints: Tamiya and Fluorescent Mr.Color series.

This gives off the vibes where zeon out of resources and for making mobile suits use crustation shells and parts to create a semiorganic mobile suit
This really reminds me of old school anime/manga bio armor, or just organic armor in general. Stuff like Guiver or Dragon's Heaven

Many crab mecha and armor exists out there but the feet on this one is a true original idea.

I really like the use of the Exceed Head packaging. The muted red under the panels feels very organic.

I discovered that chucking a bit of clear rod into a dill or lathe and then heating it a bit resulted in some great clear domes & lenses.

The expression of painting and decals is also natural and reminiscent of the real thing. The production of light by LEDs must have been difficult. However, the scene is very interesting. I love organic mecha - it's just such a striking and disturbing combination and the level of detail you put on here is incredible! Man, I can draw this stuff and get those textures and details down, but if I try to turn it into anything 3-D it looks like utter shite - this is amazing! Heh, it does kinda make me fear the revenge of crustaceans armed with boiling butter blasters....they waded up on land, saw one Red Lobster, and now humanity will end....LOL!
