Late 40s or very early fifties as I see TV antennas on houses.

Found the key to locate the night-time railway footage! "Only" took me 45 minutes to "discover" that 9:17 indicates 5846 San Fernando Rd, Glendale! So the moving camera (on the train) is moving northwest.

That address is now Angelus Pet Hospital, and the building is mostly intact almost 80 years later. Pretty cool.

Night-time railway footage: The moving camera (on the train) starts at Colorado Street and moves northwest, under the (future) 134 Freeway.

The first part of the drive starts at the corner of Magnolia and California street. Then it drives south on California Street, makes a right on Clark Street (west), then a left (south) on Lima Street, and ends with a right (west) on Verdugo. Repeats this twice. Can't tell where the other videos come from.

nice, peaceful neighborhood, nearby shopping, minimal traffic, individualized homes, distinctive designs, deep set front lawns, ample parking for guests, shade trees, driveway to back garage and storage, unseen, but rear access road (alley) for garbage, trash pickup, and deliveries. AMERICAN middle class at it's finest.

Beautifully clean, well manicured lawns, shrubs, trees and hedges. Also no junked out cars marring the curbs and tennis shoes hanging from overhead wires.
    Must be a White neighborhood.

I think the right hand turn the driver makes at 4:56 is going north on N. Lomita St. and turning right on W. Chandler. I used to live on N. Orchard
and I remember seeing that 4-unit walkup apt building on Chandler right after the turn.

Upon further research, Google Street view does not support my conjecture
