In my opinion one of the best series I've ever seen, truly. And I've seen a lot. The performances and script are second to none. Thankfully the BBC woke up and decided to broadcast - almost 4 years late. It was premiered disastrously in the UK. Luckily Netflix showed it and now even here. I highly recommend it. Jared Harris is simply amazing. I've always loved his work, from The Crown, through Mad Men and Chernobyl. He is fantastic

It was! I wasn't going to watch it but my Mum was very interested in it as she knew about the mystery surrounding the ships. After the first episode I was hooked!
Probably one of the best actors working today. On a par with Mark Rylance. The Terror is a superb piece of work. Under-rated from an awards point 0f view.
Jared Harris has been absolutely brilliant in every role I have seen him play. In no particular order I remember Fringe, The Expanse, Chernobyl and the The Terror. These are just off the top of my head and I'm sure (without searching IMDB) there are many more. If he's in it, I'll make time to watch it.
yep i agree, at first i liked the supernatural stuff, very, very creepy at the start. the bit underneath the water, the dying boy hallucinating etc.. but in the end, they could have done without it, plenty of subject matter anyway
@@douglasparkinson4123 from what I’ve read the lead poisoning from the tinned food is questionable. I’m currently listening to ‘Erebus’ by Michael Palin and heard him on the Dan Snow podcast. From his research he’s found the lead poisoning aspect of the expedition to be negligible. They would’ve been ingesting a level of lead from the water pipes of the day and would’ve been for years.
I love this actor. Why? Because he's far from good looking, he has a sort of weird voice but... his outstanding talent is what really emerges and counts. His charisma is very attractive and so everything else instantly becomes unimportant.
Well said, Donnie! The only thing I have a different opinion about is his beauty. I think he's quite handsome and is better looking now than ever. He's almost 60 and that mix of white and red hair on his beard gives him a greater charm. The gap between his teeth is also charming (he's the only person I find attractive with that characteristic). His chin is also something that adds an extra sexiness to his beautiful face - although his beauty increases when he's bearded. And at last, but not least, his blue eyes... Oh, he's got perfect blue eyes, they're mesmerizing! He's handsome, talented, romantic... So, basically, he's the perfect man, in my opinion.
Unbelievably grim and gory but totally compelling. Amazing casting, script, props and special effects. Strangely like a metaphor for the pandemic lockdown.
Agreed. The bbc had the cheek to put their logo on the production while showing it , to give the impression they had produced it, like the charlatans they are. The bbc would never produce nor would be able to produce something of this quality and class, and if they had tried, it would have been riven with political correctness and left wing talking points. A pox on their house.
Excellent actor who has been under the radar for a long time but Chernobyl and The Terror have raised his profile although I liked him in Happiness many years ago. I do not binge watch and have watched less TV in lockdown due to poor quality but I watched this very quickly and enjoyed it.

Really really good series, hard to watch at times and I had to cover my eyes for some gorey scenes. But it was so well done and with the historical aspect to it. There is also the story of guys shipwrecked near Tierra del Fuego who built a ship from the shipwreck, then things went badly in terms of let's say human relations.

Agreed. Wonderfully produced.
Very enjoyable. Loved Jared Harris in Mad Men and he just gets better.
Everything Jared Harris is in is marvellous!
But ruined by the ''creature'' rubbish..
It was brilliant well made and well filmed great story..

He was superb in Chernobyl and even better in this. Huge fan. Tobias Menzies was great too.
Can't believe this has only just made its way onto the BBC. Incredible series.

He absolutely broke my heart as Frances Crozier, so did Paul Ready as Goodsir🌟🌟

A bloody good Moriarty as well!
A very good Anderson Dawes too, utterly menacing.

That's BBC's problem is, they are woke. They would never actually fund a show like this.
Unbelievably underrated actor
Incredible in the terror

100% agree
Best performance of his career imo. He is unbelievable in The Terror.
Watch Chernobyle, he’s great in that too

Honestly, I enjoyed the "supernatural element" the least. Everything else about that series was superb. I had to finish it all in one day!
