E71 was not my favourite device as I preferred either to go with N95 for its camera or later on - for E7 for even better keyboard experience, but this is definitely outstanding device, same as all Nokia's from late 00'tees. However, my friend is turning 30 next month and you just gave me a brilliant gift idea (the frame). I think it is coolest thing I have seen in a long time! Cheers! Tom
Damn the feeling of getting a new Nokia was unparalled. Graphical boxes, cool accessories, cool system tones, new ringtones with new generations, Latest Asphalt and bounce. Small feature upgrades created waves all because of focus on innovative designs. Currently companies are focussing on minimalism, its how generation has changed. But Id if Nokia somehow is able to pull a comeback not just like anyother droid but with its OG identity. Surely many would line up. I loved my E71. It's a shame your battery door is stuck - the clean click of the mechanism is really satisfying. I loved how fast and reliable that phone was. It was a rare day when it did something wrong. You're spot on about 2.5mm too. That, and the inability to charge via USB were the two biggest misses. A few years in, I decided to "upgrade" to the XpressMusic 5800, and it was terrible, with things not working, slow fixes and updates, and regular crashes. Nokia was struggling to stay relevant with changing consumer expectations in the face of dwindling revenue and market share.

Hi ... I'm VERY curious if you still have this for review, I know in particular that Nokia's Ovi Store for apps is now long defunct just shortly after it launched. Nokia had a beta program in which there was a blogger style app that ran locally on S60 3rd Edition device, and I believe was pre-loaded on the E-71i that just needed to be installed (I used to own one for 1.8yrs back in 2008 when it launched. The app would run with a UI, act has a server in the traditional sense of SOAP on a home PC complete with auto created HTML link, webpages you load text and basic media into, sourced by typing or media taken from the E71 or loaded via MicroSD card. The app could be 'turned off' or 'disabled' with/without closing and this would CEASE the blog you created to be unreachable and unsearchable - yet this was ONLY to other Nokia or other licensed S60 2nd or 3rd edition device users. I'm looking for the name of the app.
