Thank you for the help! I couldn't access Guest Team "Files" with the new version of MS Teams, but by reverting to the old look, I was able to... you've provided me with a solution until the next time Microsoft rams through another disappointing and unwanted (by me) GUI and layout change.
When I read about this change I was a bit negative. After testing it out I can never go back. It’s really good! Creating sections is a game changer. The team itself is less important now. The content is. In chats group chats channels and meetings. As I often train customers in using M365 apps I got worried but I feel that this will actually be simpler for users and more intuitive.
Your thoughts certainly mirror mine too - at first I didn’t like the idea of it, but when you spend ten minutes setting it up for your own use, then it makes more sense and I feel gives you a focus on the right content - rather than thousands of Channels and Teams 😃
Not convinced that having Chat and Teams in one Tab. Too much to have in one page. What would be useful is to be able to open Teams channel pages in a additional windows to make it easier to move between them.
Hmm, I'm not a fan of those changes, I don't see why you'd want them combined to then have to filter them to get the view you want. As long as the option remains to keep chat and teams separated I'll be using that. Rubbish idea, but a great demo, thanks
When it’s available, a dialog appears in Teams when you start up Teams saying ‘A simplified experience for Chats, Channels and Teams is here and then to activate, choose “Get started” when you see the welcome screen for the new chat and channels experience. Also, this has just started rolling out - so if you haven’t seen it yet, it will be further rolled out soon 😃
This just doesn't make sense. Teams themselves dont have chats, it's not a single view since you can still only view what you've selected, they could add the filters without this confusion, using sections to add chats to a team is only for you, etc.
Quite possibly they could make further improvements in the future but for now, it’s a single view across all your Teams and Chats - under the single ‘Chat’ button - I’d have preferred a different button named like ‘Teams & Chats’ but I have no say on that 😄

When are they going to let you collapse that vertical menu? Thats a change i would like to see. It takes up far too much screen space.
I’d love to see that one too! 😃
