I started the trail today with my fj cruiser.2.5 inch lift on 33s. The first part felt if I was going to tip over and the first hill made me pretty nervous. I end up turning around because of my alucab rtt. On the way down, my fj was mostly on 2 to 3 wheels. I need to try it again without the rtt because it makes the fj too top heavy.
@@Mitch_C740 Was there just today. Alot more rutted now but managed to get up it without my lockers. THe first right hand turn is definitely off cambered but we got through it fine.
Where does that come out at ? I've been up the beginning at Francisquito Cyn.. We just went to the little look out point to the left. We didn't go further than that because we didn't know where it ended up at...
I think there's a few outlets but the route taken that day, it dropped us off on to Bouquet Canyon.. from there, we traveled north to the backside of Rower flats and aired back up on Sierra hwy.
It's not too far. On this day, we ran Drinkwater and Rower but the video is only for Drinkwater. Starting point is: 30773-, 30781 San Francisquito Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91390
love the video i just bought a jeep and i really want to try this place out. I'm just a bet nervous because most likey I'm going to be traveling by myself. I'm going to set up my cb radio first on the jeep before i head out just in case i run into any problems. from the looks of this video look like the first couple of turns are the worst and after that its all open road
Never go solo!! I suggest signing up for runs on NotARubicon. He does about 1 easy run a month. facebook.com/NotARubicon/ also, check out www.wranglerforum.com/f55/ - the organizer of most runs will say the minimum requirements of the Jeep for the trails they're going to run. Jeepers are extremely friendly. You'll make new friends and they'll spot you through the worst sections.
But with that said, Drinkwater and Rowher flats are both fairly easy and is moderately busy so if you get stuck, there's always someone that'll come along to help. The area isn't so large that you'll die alone unlike out in the middle of Death Valley. If you do get stuck, join this group with your location and someone will come help. facebook.com/groups/scor.sos/
That looks like mighty fun... Nice scenery... Is there any way that I could join y'all on y'alls next run? I'm new to this Jeep world and I want to learn from the senpai(s)...
You should keep an eye on NotARubicon's facebook page. He does runs very regularly. And about once a month, it's a newbie run and they're great. Lots of great folks attends them. facebook.com/NotARubicon/ and another place you should look at is www.wranglerforum.com/f55/ - which is also a great resource for upcoming events, upgrades, jeep issues, and general discussions. Most trail leaders will tell you the minimum requirements of the vehicle for the trails they'll be running.
If you've done Rowher, Drinkwater is a nice compliment. The day this video was taken, we did both trails. I think the only difficult part is the start of Drinkwater which you gain some altitude real quick right off the bat. Nothing too technical. You'll be fine in 4Low.
Not in a club but I do run with some clubs.. Mainly, I find runs from either the wrangler CA forum: www.wranglerforum.com/f55/ and the Notarubicon runs: facebook.com/NotARubicon/ and neither is required to be a wrangler. Just need to pay attention to the organizer and its requirements (i.e. tire size, lift, and locker needed or not)
To use the trail, it's free. But if you stop at the OHV areas, you need the adventure pass. And they're only $30/yr and useful in many of the parks in CA.

DJ Shadow... awesome! Found this trail on a roadtrip down through the states. Very cool.
I went to this trail today and that first hill climb is nothing like in this video! Lol it was freaking nuts!
is this first hill a difficult climb for a stock Jeep?
@@jeffbaranda7572 Got a lot worse during the 2018-19 winter, but a stock Jeep ought to handle it.

I have a 2019 TY 4 runner, but it is rwd only. Could I take it on this trail?

Yeah I would love to go with a group but I’m sure those groups are more of a weekend thing and I’m only available to go on Tuesday unfortunately
@@georgelias91 I'm off Tuesdays if you want to wheel. I'm stock wrangler so I dont do crazy rock crawling, mostly trails and some mud holes.

Yasu Yamamoto thank you kindly... I'll do just that...
Anything as tough as some of the hard stuff at Rowher, like Rowher Trail or Lookout Mountain?

I want to go next time! haha
