I literally cannot stop listening to this song. It came on my daily mix yesterday and has been playing in my brain at max volume ever since. Whenever it comes on, I break out into funky little dance moves. I am physically incapable of listening to it less than five times in a row. Whenever I see a worm, I am PHYSICALLY FORCED to sing this song as loud as I can. Me and my mom were watching the third hobbit movie and the orcs came in on those ground worms and I VOMITED "BORN A WORM!!!". I had no choice in the matter. I have been possessed
I was born inside of an earthworm. A man stepped on the earthworm. The earthworm split into two halves. One half wriggled toward the mountains. The other half wormed toward the sea. I crawled away and began my life as a baby. The first earthworm grew six feet long. It tied itself into knots, bows, pictograms; increasingly complex configurations. Linguists, artists and semioticians studied the earthworm closely, but no one knew what it was trying to say. The second earthworm grew just large enough to wear a tiny suit and tie. It learned to speak English. Very concise and direct, the earthworm could argue in favor of almost anything. It would have made a very successful lawyer if it wasn't an earthworm. I grew up to adulthood in the meantime. I united the earthworms when I felt they were ready. Now they own and operate a world famous ice cream parlor in North Dakota. I would have visited them on my bike tour, but the worms want to take me back. They want union -- to be whole again. And I'm not ready to die. Now I cry whenever I eat ice cream. Anyway. I just thought you should know that before I marry your daughter.
I cant exactly put my finger on why, but I simply adore this simple song. Something about that metanorphasis is so compelling. And in a weird way it gives me hope. Sometimes I feel like I'm the butterfly and sometimes I feel like I'm in the cocoon, and sometimes I feel like the Caterpillar, but it's all part of the process, and this song reminds me of that.
Any time i listen to this song, i can't help but smile so much my face hurts. I've been having a lot of struggles lately, lots of medical issues and pain and such, and this song so reliably helps boost my spirirt. Thank you so much for making it and sharing it. My life is so much brighter for getting to hear this song.
Carsie Blanton sang this for us tonight at Berkeley’s Freight & Salvage. She declared it the most perfect song ever written. You have a growing fan base in Berkeley.
A pure genious song condensed to beauty and the wonder of life itself. And still, mankind tries flying to the mars whereas not knowing what happens when the wurm turns to a butterfly. Thanks a lot for this song Dan.
Please make this stong stop going on repeat in my head. It's been like two weeks now. Listening to it doesn't fix make it go away either. Agggggghhhhhh....
We have thousands of milkweed plants around my property, and adjacent areas, and we are seeing dozens of Monarchs in the last few days. Greetings from Michigan.
I spend my free time pretending I've just discovered you with each and every song I get addicted to. You're exactly everything I've always been looking for. Still over here tripping smooth out that you f'ed my face. So much gratitude for you.
Sorry I'm so late, I just got here. It's in Bb major (but has a couple chords in it that use chromatics- notes outside of the Bb major scale) Bb Cm F7 Bb D/F# Gm C/E F7 The D major triad over F# and C major triad over E are optional and so is playing the F major triad with a dominant 7th instead of just an F major triad

I've often mused on the worm soup hatching out as a butterfly.
I've had this stuck in my head for days, ever since I saw those pictures of Heidi Klum's Halloween costume

If a butterfly lays an egg and a caterpillar hatches from it, is it a butterfly egg or a caterpillar egg?
Hallo! I'd like to get the chords for ukulele. Anyone could help me? :)
Aina Manyà Bb F F Bb D Gb C F
nice! I think that should be a G minor, though, not a Gb (G-flat). what an amazing song.

OK I don't know how the heck you came up with this song, but there's a lady on TikTok that gave me a false sense of hope that it was a kids song.
