This drive works amazing as a RAID 1 boot drive for esxi.
RAID 1 is not a backup ! it is for availability if a drive fails.
that being said, I need a RAID 1 enclosure.
did you test the enclosure in RAID 1 mode ?
I currently have a Delock enclosure where one drive regularly fails, I think it overheats.
Using c connectors on USB does not make things faster, they are convenience if the USB is the wrong level. You are still using SATA drives. They are the limiting factor. By the time you look at the SATA limits and the OS overheads then overall you have got reasonable speeds. Just try the same test SATA port to SATA port on your Motherboard, I'd be surprised if you got any better, in fact it may be slower.
did you not watch that he's tested the raid0?
Try higher speeds NVMe Gen3 from XPG/PNY/Samsung.
WD Blue SSD for APAC/Ocenic region is using subpar chips than thermal throttle quickly (thus lower speeds)
It's a SATA m.2 adaptor. Not a NVME adaptor. Different protocol
wd has pretty excellent warranty support on those sata drives. I did some not so honorable things and they totally honored all claims and sent new drives.
Thanks for the report.
Hi, there. Is it possible to install a WINDOWS TO GO Win10 in it?
It’s Apple. They don’t allow gen 2
what about sabrent?
I've got a video on a similar product from Sabrent, you should check it out!
I consider Orico a very mediocre brand. Some stuff is ok, some isn’t…
You said you’ve tried other cables; that would be my suspicion of the slow speeds…
It’s just a bad product, really disappointed because of all the promises made by Orico on their website.
not happy with the product too .. unreliable
