I’m a brewers fan and think the same thing as soon as he released it I was like oh I think he’s got him kinda like when you know it’s going to be a home run as soon as you see the swing and hear that crack

As a Dodger fan, that’s why he has a slump sometimes. Every time I see him and Freddie at-bat, it’s like they want to bomb it every single time. Like chill 😂
@JayDee-w3d, first off, the money they paid for him has already been recouped by the city and team, so I'd say that part of the investment is solid. As for his numbers falling, so. This is baseball. All great players will slump at some point in the season. Just so long as Ohtani isn't slumping in the postseason, that's all that matters. Where his overall regular-season numbers end up is moot.
If he does that would be great! but he's looking for a homer in every at bat... (as a batter) if you see that defense is gonna shift you've got to play "smart" like bunting the ball against the shift or try to hit the ball to the opposite side. If the ball goes beyond the fence, nice! but you gotta play for the team, not your particular stats... just sayin'
@@ModoBelico nah freddie not like that. He plays small ball almost always. But this is exactly why Bellinger declined on the Dodgers because after that one year he went off but just missed the MLB HR leader, the following years he just swung for the fences.
I’m a Dodger fan but you sound idiotic asf. First off, the City of Los Angeles didn’t spend one cent on his contact besides Guggenheim Management. It hasn’t even been a full year that he landed as a Dodger and you’re saying the foundation has “recoup” that money yet the haven’t spent the full $700 million on him after the deferred years. Most of the money the team will make with be mostly by marketing Ohtani to the maximum. His not just a regular star, his an international star. His face is everywhere in Japan.
Absolutely massive win for the Crew. Able to show themselves they can compete with LA, even while playing sloppy. (Yes ik both teams did, but the Brewers coulda won this by 5) Yet again not allowing a losing streak to go past 3, only team in the MLB w/o a 4 game losing streak all year.

You have no clue what you're talking about. Any other team with that many key players out due to injury would be in the basement of their division.
Besides, most of the players on the Dodgers were either farm system callups or found on some other team's chopping block.

They have five large contract players on the team, and three out of those five are pitchers (which includes Ohtani), and they're worth every penny of that money paid to them, too.

its legal if the ball is coming at the same time as the runner.
Ball bounced 6ft in front of the catcher and he definitely blocked and impeded the runner from scoring! Ump didn’t call it!
Dodgers had that call against them just a game or two ago.
Yeah, I feel like it’s a missed call a lot. The ball did beat him up by like a step. But the plate was completely blocked anyway.
"The catcher is not permitted to block the runner's path to the plate unless he is in possession of the ball. The runner can be ruled safe if the umpire determines the catcher violated this rule. However, blocking the path of the runner in a legitimate attempt to receive a throw is not considered a violation."

when defense makes 3 errors in a game, I think it is hard to win the game. The loss was made by Dodgers' on hand.

So that dude hit 2nd, ran back towards 1st, then started to go to 3rd without touching 2nd again. But then is standing on 2nd, pitcher throws to 2nd for a pickoff and he beats the throw standing with his foot on the bag before the tag, but then gets called out?
The guy who missed the bag ended up on third. He never touched second base (the 2nd time) therefore he’s out

Freeman: king of always making contact. Dude hits anything near the strike zone. Consider this: Shohei has struck out 120 times this season. Freddie only 73. And they have almost identical batting averages (.295 vs .291)….
Had the strike zone been consistent for both teams the outcome may have been different

slow runner 28ft/sec like ohtani continuously steals bases when fast runner like Witt 30ft/sec can not.
Ohtani's strike zone is so tiny and no clutch hits when needed most but hits to improve his numbers when unnecessary like ichiro.
his personal records top notch but because he strikes out almost all on key moments Dodgers continuously has no advantage.

Question for the experts out there: the LA catcher was clearly blocking Turang when he was thrown out in the bottom of the 1st. Is the reason that wasn't called interference b/c the catcher was trying to field the ball so it's allowed?

Another throw away game with the utility lineup. Buehler seemed to be rushing between pitches, his arm looked good but struggled with command. The ump squeezed the strike zone. If they are gonna pinch hit for Lux in which Rojas got a hit then it’s time to sit a struggling Ohtani for a day or two.

Uneven effort by the Dodgers today...Walker Beuhler will never be the #1 starter the team had hoped for...Betts looked average out in right field...too many errors....Kevin Kiermaier has a cannon for an arm.
Not a good game for the Dodgers. Very disappointing. These games matter. This was a very poor showing.
But they won the series. It's not a big deal that they booted this game. So they didn't get the sweep against a very good team on the road. My goodness, people, they can't win _every_ game. That's just magical thinking. Even the best teams of all time lost games. Also, winning a series on the road, especially against a playoff contender only a handful of games below you, is a good thing.
