Morning Barbara, This was a most interesting video. What a unique way of binding, I loved it. Your little nature journal is super cute and such a calming one. Am missing the dailies though, and so, I am trying to catch up with your "history". I am watching Journal with me and I am on episode 82, and enjoying each and every one. Thank you for lovely chit chat and for your wonderful personality, you have become a welcome friend in our home. Blessings and hugs Diana
WOW this turned out remarkable!!! The awesome techniques were so inspiring. Cant wait till your next video. I enjoy spending time with you. Thank you for sharing and inspiring!
I absolutely adore your nature book!!! I’m so glad you added those last minute touches... I love all natural stuff as well. I’m getting ready to a Native American Journal. I made them authentic and natural. I love your work Barbara!!! 🥰❤️❤️❤️
Just so pretty! Loads of nature fun. I have never tried that particular binding but can see it does lay those pages flat. I have a binding method I use to lay my pages flat especially in my art journals. I will need to try out your way one day. Enjoyed the process and love the end results. Thank you for sharing with us.
Barbara, I just love this nature themed paper bag journal. It turned out great, and it was fun to watch you create it. So much I have learned from you! I love the binding, too. I will definitely try this. Thanks for sharing and inspiring us to create. Blessings ❤️🥰💕😘🤗😊
Barbara, love that binding. And the piece of wood is a perfect addition. I was torn too between the butterfly and dragon fly for the front but love where you ended up with the dragonfly inside and butterfly on the cover. Beautiful journal. TFS! ❤️
I've never been a fan of paper bag journals, but I think you've helped change my mind. I'm going to the California coast in a few months and there will be a multitude of nature items to try. You're a really good teacher. I'm definitely going to try this.
Thank you so much !!! Your book of nature is perfect ! I was looking for a kind of binding you showed us, so I am really happy that you did it with good explanations ;-) Thanks for sharing your talent ! Take care, Natalie
Fantastic video! I loved the binding method....I was curious as how you were going to put it together and that is some serious construction that works great with organic pages like the ones you put together. Once again, thank you for walking us through the process. This is something I must try. Stay well and be safe. Warmest wishes from Phoenix.
This journal is amazing. You do such great work. I hope to try this soon. Peacocks are my love. We actually have them come into our yard daily. Thank you for sharing this.
I love this little journal 😍 that stitching is almost identical to single page coptic just without the needles which I love. Opening pages flat is a must for me 💖
When I took the video off Full Screen, I saw 2 dislikes....WHAATT?? Dislikes??? Impossible. Your book is so gorgeous, I think I love it the best of everything you have done (and I love everything you have done)...I am in love with the bit of wrapped wood on the spine. IN LOVE I say!
Hi Barbara, that is a seeeeeriously cool binding method. I think I'm in love, hahahahah. Lately, I find it therapeutic to take nature photos and that wood brunch reminded me of the lavender brunches I collected last summer.....I should really put those to use. So paper bags, fabric, strings, wood, metal......can't get a more "nature-ish" journal than that. Wonderful, have a nice weekend.
This may be one of my very favorite journals ...I love every aspect about it and that binding technique works perfectly....lovely. The addition of the twig finishes the look and spirit of this journal. thank you
Your book is Fabulous!! I plan to try this new binding technique along with the wooden handle. The peacock cover is stunning! Thank you for sharing another great video tutorial.
I missed some of these somehow. I will go back and watch them. But I wanted to say I love the nature quotes. The Peacock page is my favorite. So pretty. I also love the simplicity of the pages.
Du machst mich wahnsinnig! Ich denke jetzt darüber nach, mein Pinguin Buch auseinander zu nehmen und auf diese Art zusammen zu binden, damit es nicht so fett aussieht....... Aaaargh! Love this!
This was a fun and gorgeous journal. Thank you so much for sharing your binding technique. I really like it and am so tired of alligator mouthed journals. This is right up my ally. TFS. I did. God bless and stay safe.
How lovely your nature journal is, really enjoyed your tutorial and know my next journal will be on nature and adding my sewing pages….. Sincere thanks Barbara you inspire me every day with your tutorials young and old xxxxx 💜🧚🏿♂️🌷💙🦋🌸💚💐🌻🌼💖
Barbara, I’m loving this project. I have started with mine and am enjoying it so much. To strengthen the pages for the binding, I took the handles of the grocery bag and ironed it which allowed me to open the folded edge. It melted the glue just enough so that I could open it . I cut apiece the length of the height of my pages and I put a it on the edge and sewed it on with zigzag. I love how it looks and can’t wait to finish all my pages so that I can try out the binding meth you showed the so much detail. Thanks again for you inspiration and sharing these projects! 😷❤️🤗🥰😍
What a gorgeous journal Barbara i love to follow you on youtube you give me so much inspiration !!!!! Greetings from Holland and see you soon ............
I loved this project!! it is such a departure from others, simple and natural and so fun!! This binding almost reminded me of crochet but with your hands. many of us who Bible journal use round clips through punched holes but I think this is soo much sweeter and I love the simplicity of it, and the natural texture to this journal is perfect!! THANKS so much for teaching us something new!
Hi Barbara, I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I think the final journal is fantastic. This binding is new to me and I will give it a try with my next single-page project. Thanks for sharing this with us. Sending lots of good energy to you 😊❤
Hello Barbara, what a lovely journal, turned out so pretty. I'd like to see you do more of this kind of work. My fave page is the lone tree on the right side of the page with the set of rectangle design at the top, from your hand made stamps. I do like the organic look of your entire journal. I'll have to revisit and create more of them myself. All this brings back my art studio days in college, lol, thanks for that memory. That bind stitching is one I haven't tried. I'll have to give it a try. Once again thanks for sharing.
There is a product called Fray Check. It’s a little bottle of liquid stiffener. You could use that on your fabric pages where the holds are so they wouldn’t fray or stretch when you put your binding threads through them. You could probably use glue that dries clear instead. I love this binding method. Ive never seen it before. I think I will use it for a sketch journal or watercolor book. I am in love with this journal. The cover is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
I have been watching you for a few months now and was missing you after Dephemerember so When I found this tutorial I was thrilled! I love this journal idea and the binding is lovely. Going to make one 🤗
Thank you for this! It's so simple compared to other videos I've watched on Coptic binding. It's the way you explain things so clearly and patiently! Now I've lost all my anxiety about binding my book tomorrow morning. Sweet dreams!
PS next day--this worked like a charm! anyone who's ever put a tag onto luggage will have no problem at all! Also Barbara your instincts were right...better to make the strands a little longer than too short.
Barbara - this binding is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I have some loose pages and I had no idea how to bind them together. You are a life saver! Thank you for sharing this process!
Superbe astuce de reliure !! Merci Barbara !! Très joli résultat ! C’est bien filmé, créatif, montage vidéo intelligent et le processus très compréhensible ! Bravo ! Bonjour de France 🥰 🌸🌸🌸
I’ve just done this binding and it worked! I was in the process of making an index card ‘journal’ and planned to use ring binder rings to put it together, but I saw your video and this method looks so much better. Good timing for me. Many thanks for your clear instructions and generosity in sharing your skill. I love your pages , they’re beautiful.
Diese Bindung ist echt cool und das gesamte Journal wirklich was ganz besonderes 💗🌿💗 finde ich super schön, da jede Seite etwas ganz Besonders geworden ist 🌿
I just love how your Paper Bag Junk Journal turned out. So organic and I love your binding technique! I may have to look into Roxy’s class too! I took several Art Journaling Classes last year from Laly Mille and loved them and This is making me very excited! I wasn’t sure about the paper bag, but I love how it turned out! Thank you for sharing!💓
Love...Love...Love it! I especially like the binding method, but I’m not sure I’d have the patience for it; it’d definitely take more than 30 minutes! 💕

Beautiful 😍
On the fabric pages you can paint a line of glue down the side and let it dry to stiffen it.
Just so pretty! Loads of nature fun. I have never tried that particular binding but can see it does lay those pages flat. I have a binding method I use to lay my pages flat especially in my art journals. I will need to try out your way one day. Enjoyed the process and love the end results. Thank you for sharing with us.
