  • In this installation video we show you how quickly and easily you can set up and install our insect screen for your door.
Suitable for the following Windhager products: 03954, 03955
Required tools: rolling metre, scissors, rubber mallet, pencil, hacksaw, file, screwdriver, cutting bowl, cordless screwdriver.
Step by step to the perfect insect screen:
    00:00 Unboxing
00:13 Measure the width dimension B of the reveal by finding the horizontal wall to wall distance.
00:17 Measure the height dimension H of the reveal by finding the vertical wall-to-wall distance.
00:24 Calculate the appropriate shortening dimension for your door.
00:28 To do this, subtract the measured height dimension H from the total dimension of the pleated blind (2402 mm) and divide the result by 2.
00:59 Subtract 31 mm from the measured width.
01:08 Mark the calculated dimension H on both sides of the pleated cassette.
01:17 Mark the calculated dimension B on both sides of the guide rails.
01:30 Shorten the pleated cassette at the marked point with a hacksaw.
01:35 Shorten both guide rails at the marked point with a hacksaw.
01:50 File off the intersections on the pleated cassette and the guide rails.
01:59 Place the cassette as shown. The handle rail is on the right-hand side of the cassette. Carefully unwind the cords from the red holder.
02:10 Slide the handle rail on the cassette along the fabric strip to the back until the groove is visible through which the cords are guided out to the side.
02:16 Reposition the cords by placing them down through the groove and guiding them to the end of the cassette. The groove is 40 cm from the ends when untrimmed.
02:24 Push the handle rail back to its original position. Repeat this process on the opposite side.
02:32 Slide the handle into the handle rail. This can be adjusted to the correct height later.
02:41 Put the screw on the recess on the handle. Fix it only at the end of the assembly after adjusting the handle height.
02:48 Place the end caps on both sides of the cassette and fix them in the handle rail. Use a rubber mallet if necessary.
02:56 Remove the two red assembly aids.
03:10 Pull out the pleated profile at the back of the cassette completely.
03:17 Connect the frame profiles and to each other using the corner connectors. Put the top and bottom cover caps on the corner connectors.
03:21 Insert the two clamping elements into the upper and lower guide profiles. Fix them with one screw each.
04:28 Place the connected frame in the door reveal. Mark the nine drilling points through the already existing recesses in the profiles.
04:43 Drill the marked holes with a ø 6 mm drill bit.
04:51 Screw the frame together by screwing in the nine screws with a screwdriver.
04:58 Place the pleated cassette in the screwed frame. The handle rail is located on the side facing away from the pleated blind holder profile.
05:03 Push the pleated cassette, fabric first, into the pleated profile until it clicks into place under pressure. Use a rubber mallet to do this.
05:09 Fix the handle at the desired height.
05:21 Tension the cords on the pleated cassette through the upper and lower guide rails. To do this, pull on the clamping elements and fix them at the top and bottom of the clamping elements in the profiles with one screw each.
05:28 Pull the cords hand-tight and fix the screws.
05:35 If the pleated blind works properly after it has been opened and closed several times, knot the cords and shorten them with scissors.
