Obsessed with moving. Recently looked at Europe. 2-3 hours online exploring options, here in the US and abroad. Then, my middle son tells me about his friend visiting his American grandmother in Prague, the one who left her son with schizophrenia behind in the US when she did that, leaving his friend's mother to be her brother's caretaker. I stopped looking at moving, I didn't want to be like the grandmother in Prague.
My youngest son has schizophrenia. So, now I'm quietly exploring what staying here looks like. Looking at my need to escape, as a need for a break. Taking care of him but also myself.
If possible move with the whole family? It might be hard, I don't know. There are lots of expats communities out there.
But what I can tell is that Europe in general has good and affordable healthcare. Just a thought. Wishing you and your Loved ones all the best
@joanmyron Therein lies the challenge. The city I live in is the one my son wants to stay in. We visited Scotland together in January as a "test run". While loving it there, he found himself homesick for the town where we both now live. He lives part-time with me, part-time with my ex. My son is 25.

Don't know if you've tried keto, but look up Dr Mark Palmer on RUclips. He's developed a dietary protocol which he thinks cures schizophrenia and bipolar. I have a partner with bipolar. but medication has made him worse.

Nailed it as always! I have been obsessed for justice in spite of it being against my own adult child that has done unspeakable acts. It’s hard. I’m her mother but her kids deserved better and it wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for PTSD issues that have been triggered.
