We may, might, could, possibly, be having a development drive on InvMark soon with a view to improving it. If you have any thoughts on what you would want it to do, please comment. Particularly interested in feature level stuff i.e. specific logging types, graphs, comparison tools, user interface suggestions, stuff like that. If you have any new test suggestions, feel free, but it's not currently a priority to do that as it'll make future versions of InvMark differ from older results on the table.

Hi Neil! Long time follower of your channel and appreciator of your content!
I think InvMark is a fantastic tool and source of information for buying a computer for Inventor..but! The site and filtering options really leaves a lot to be desired. You kind of hint at it in your comment but I'd love to see graphs and other filtering options to look at results of a particular brand of laptop or model. Currently these types of queries doesn't seem to work very well when searching. I even considered scraping the website myself to get the results in excel to make my own conclusions😅.. Would be so beneficial when picking a laptop for myself or my colleagues!

@@fredform Yea I had all these ambitions when we started InvMark but we all kinda had to stop at some point, the developer is a CAD supplier so it's basically a side project for them and one which offers zero return on any investment so we did good just to get what we've got! But I hear you, I wanted sensor logging charts on the website and comparison tables but the web development was the resource which was most scarce out of everything. With re to collating data on a particular model, I can see the use case for that, but I can also see multiple issues to having it. E.g. we can't list them all as there's millions of models and new ones coming out all the time, but if you were to right click on a result and request all other results from that model...
...some of us would be tech savvy enough to understand this, but most wouldn't, and that being a Dell Precision 7770 for example isn't just a Dell Precision 7770. It has hundreds of configs, you can put an i5 into one, or an i7 or i9, or 16GB RAM up to 128GB, just onboard graphics or a A5500 RTX, and a combination of all those put together. So you'd get a huge disparity to the results from 1 laptop model, and it would take a lot of planning to try and make this clear and obvious somehow. But I hear ya and I'll keep it in mind, anything else just let me know!

@Neil3D Yeah its no doubt impressive what you guys managed to create especially considering the "budget" constraints! :D.. What I meant is that the database is even more useful in the way of a table with columns and filtering options than a leader board... I couldnt help myself after your comment so actually went ahead and put the whole dataset into excel and added some extra columns based on a number of manufacturers etc. to make filtering easier. Can send you the file if you want?
For me this was very useful in showcasing the cost benefit of gaming laptops! Hopefully my boss agrees 🙏😇

Brother, I think you may want to drink more. I tried to listen to WTH Invmark was and all I could ascertain is the evolution to Tech3D. I did subscribe and donated to your informative tips and tricks - your videos without a doubt being the most useful teaching of Inventor I've ever had! But this was a compilation of useless information I've ever seen! You have a gift of one of the best orators of all things AutoDesk- much superior than any other teachers of the subject. Please consider that what you're one of the best lecturers in the subject. I cannot emphasize how much of an impact you've been to teaching me - especially your incredibly smirky commentary whilst explaining such nuisance of a plane on a centerline of a hole - "Ladies." Don't abandon us poor saps that want to learn this important knowledge. Love you

This is also true for me.
Neil is absolutely the best Autodesk Inventor mentor, hands down. So much influential to my skills and my approach to CAD design as a whole

      Thanks, appreciate that.
I'm confused re the first part of your comment though "I tried to listen to WTH Invmark was and all I could ascertain is the evolution to Tech3D". I gave a very clear but brief overview of what InvMark is, bearing in mind this isn't an introduction to InvMark video or anything close to it, it was purely intended as being a note to let people know the new version is out because tons of people had been asking where it is. So I'm not really sure what you meant by that tbh.

I really missed you and your videos! I was very surprised and so, so happy when RUclips notified me that you had released a new video.
Part of the reason I created the Inventor version of my "3D Voronoi Studio" add-in, which was originally for Autodesk Fusion, was because I fell in love with Autodesk Inventor through your fantastic channel and your happy face!
I knew that you were disappointed with the pace of Inventor development, and I thought that after Inventor 2025, you would become somewhat satisfied and will release a video about its new features, but it did not happen.
I hope you continue creating content for Inventor, as well as for other Autodesk software!

If you come back and want to get more into the AEC side of Inventor things; I'd be happy to connect with you and give you a quick lay of the land to get you started. I have 0% ambition to post any RUclips videos on the content, but I'm very versed in what's going on with those software. This year I'm teaching at AU2024 on the 'Informed Design' stuff where you create parametric Inventor models, publish them to Revit, and then can still adjust the parameters from within Revit.
....soon, the rest of the world will see the power of Inventor.

This might be a long shot but it would be great if InvMark was utilised by a hardware testing company like LTT Labs (Linus Tech Tips spin off)
It would populate the scoreboard and more recognition

They use Solidworks but either way I can't ever seeing media outlets like them paying for an annual license to use a test like this, theres too few people interested in the results. Their audience is almost entirely gamers or regular home consumers

Thank you your videos are great. Where would I go to ask you a question in e-mail or someplace? I have always wondered how to do something in inventor that nobody seems to be able to answer. By the way I've been an inventor user since the day it was introduced replacing mechanical desktop
