- #mecraftyscrapper @MelinaPylant This organizer is perfect for my die cuts and ephemera pieces! I love how it came together. The way I did the pockets was time consuming but worth the extra time to get a good fitting, expandable pocket. Happy crafting!

I have made many ephemera holders and still go back to this style that you show in your video. It’s my favorite, holds up well to searching for what I want, and love that I can see what’s in the pockets. Thanks for sharing!😊
Hello TFS and inspiring. I can’t wait to make this I like that you added flaps on the velium. I enjoy watching your videos and Ms. E videos are inspiring. Happy Crafting. Bless you and family.
I love that this is a no sew method!! Thank you so much for sharing! :)
This is a great idea!! I definitely need to make one of these now to make it easier to find what I want to use next! I love that is doesn't require any sewing!!
What a beautiful picture of you and your husband! ♥️
This is so neat. I’m gonna make this tomorrow. I have one little tip for ya. When I cut anything that tends to tear easy I put my blade down about a inch and cut all the way up then down. Hope that helps you like it does me. Great job. Love it!!!
I like that you don’t sew things like so many others do. I don’t have a sewing machine nor do I sew so it is nice to see how to do things without sewing.
Thank you for this! I'm always worrying that I won't keep people's attention if I don't sew my ephemera pieces. Whew! You make me feel better about that! :)
I also enjoy your mom’s videos. She is so fun and and she is very talented also!! Like mother like daughter! Also, love the accents!!! I am on the West Coast in Oregon!, Again thank you and your mom for your excellent ideas and the love you emit!!! God Bless you and your family!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😊😊😊😊
Your organizer is beautiful, and you are a fabulous teacher.
Very helpful. Making one right alone with you
I'm excited to make one of these! Thanks, Melina!
THank you so much for sharing your video. I was in the middle of making one from another video but the process was SO complicated! But this, I can do this. I appreciate your time and effort do this so we can all benefit. God bless to you and yours.
Thank you I will be watching this tutorial again as I make an Ephemera element holder book also. One without sewing. 👏👏👏
Thank you so much for watching!
Tfs. Great tutorial because I want to start making them for all my ephemera. Thanks again, love the paper you chose, Blue Fern. The clusters fit in the big pockets too, that's helpful. Have a great day crafting.
Thank you so much for watching!
Entry #3-working on making a journal for ephemera storage. Found your video very informative. Thanks so much for sharing!
Love it!
Hi Melina! I definitely need this. Thank you for all your wonderful instructions.
Glad it was helpful!
Can’t wait to make this! Thinking about making several and using them for my stickers and ephemera
Yes! Thanks so much for watching
yes you're right, there are many 'how to make ephemera holders' videos out there and I have seen many, but yours is the best. Easy to follow, very pretty and does the job. I will be making one shortly, thanks for the great tutorial :)
Oh thanks so much 😊
Your pockets are the best!
I am obsessed with this journal!!!
Thank you!
Thank you I can't wait to start mine
I realised when you were making this journal that it really isn't necessary to decorate it much because the ephemera you store in it does that anyway and once the pockets are full you can't see the background. I might try to adapt this to a recipe album.
Just come across you. As a UK person...wow that southern draaawl...beautiful! Great vid!❤
I have been searching for this video for a while now. So glad I finally found yours! Thank you for the tutorial. I tried making one with a 3-ring binder and sewing sheet protector sections on cardstock today. What a disaster. The old sewing machine I got just for paper does not like sewing on the plastic. Oh well…lesson learned. Stay warm!
So glad you found it! Sorry I didn't get to your question of finding it sooner!
truly beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I love that paper also!
Thanks so much for watching
I have been putting off making one of these because I didn't want to sew the pockets on (it would have to be hand-sewn). Thanks for showing that it will work with glue after all. NOW I can go forth and create one! I love the idea of speckling some ink or paint for a background for the pockets. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
Yes! I’ve found the pockets are very secure so I’m happy! Thanks for watching!
I love that, it's so cool to hold your stuff
Thanks so much for watching
Just started took me a few times to get vellum to not cut thru…. Heavy handed lol I love it…….thank you Melina… been wanting to try it❤️🦋❤️🦋
Love it ❤️
Love this Ephemera holder I’ve been looking for an easier way to make one and this is definitely it I didn’t catch what weight of card stock you used for the inside Pages thank you so much for sharing
It's 110 lb. I probably didn't say. Sorry about that! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing, I'm excited to make this for sure.
Yay! Hope you enjoy! :)
This is great thank you ❤
I am always in awe of your talent!!! Your videos are always so easy to follow. Your videos are my favorite!!! Thank you for sharing!!😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you so much!
i’ve been waiting to make one of these for ages but keep putting it off as i thought it was too complicated but you have made it look very easy so i might just make one today, i only have green velum but i suppose as long as i add some labels it could work, thanks for sharing this hunny i love it xx
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching!
Love this no sew method, you made it look so easy, thank you.
Very beautiful gorgeous emphera journal I ❤️ it u do amazing excellent awesome job I admire that in u very much 😊💐👌🌹
Thank you so much 😊
Very very nice. I'm working on a folder for my ephemera now. Love yours.
Thanks so much for watching
This was awesome ❣️❤️👏🏻🇺🇸
Love this idea.Where did you get your card stock it is beautiful.❤I am new to journaling but I love it.
I continuously 4get to get vellum. I made one of these before but used acetate - I didn’t score just glued edges - not a good choice but usable. I love the measurements you used and I’ll be incorporating them in my next try. 🤗💕🦋 Entry 1 😁
If I may add, to make the 1/4” score easier, take it from the other side where the vellum ends at 3”. That way you’re not reaching over your other hand. Just go from the 3” line in 1/4” to 2 3/4”. Hope that helps someone.
I would do the same. All that scoring on the cut pieces was awkward, it was too much. I would be scoring on the full sheets THEN cutting the 2” and 3” pieces wherever possible to minimize all the tedious scoring.
Thank you melina for your inspiring video, will be having a try to make one tomorrow
Yay! I can’t wait to see!
I wish I had cut mine that way, very nice.
Going to make one of these ephemera folio.
Need one of these in my life!TFS ❤️
Thanks so much for watching
This is good - I made one of these awhile back, but didn’t know to make the folds on the three sides for depth in the pocket. Thank you for the great ideas! Also, I didn’t catch the glue you were using on the vellum - my glitter glue puckers the vellum, but what you used appeared to not have that problem. Thanks again! ❤️
I used Bearly Arts Glue. Thanks so much for watching!
TFS. Great idea. 💖 from England
I made the ephemera journal kit in October, it was my first virtual class. I love it, but most of the time I have my Traveler’s Notebook and need a place to put my little bits and bobs. I will be making one of these for sure. Love this video.
Great! Thanks so much for watching!
Ty for sharing this!
thanks so much for watching
I'm really excited to see how you do yours. I have never made on of these.
thanks so much for watching
Very nice!
another great video
Thanks for the visit!
Beautiful ephemera holder!🦋
Thank you! 🤗
I've used Blue Fern's Bird Waltz paper pack. I loved it so much that I ordered the ephemera pack and extra papers too !!!
Happy Birthday!!
Love it Melina. It has inspired me to make one for all my ephemera, which is currently in plastic wallets. Thank you.
Thank you so much for watching!
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
Thank you so much!
Thank you, that was very helpful 🥰.
Thank you for watching!
Love this. Has inspired me to make one.
Yay! Thank you so much for watching
I truly love this organizer and after months of practicing and watching videos, I want this to be my first project. Please, help me with vellum--it confuses me. You gave us this name of what you used but I cannot find it. Could you just tell me the gsm, weight, whatever I need to buy the equivalent of what you used? I'm willing to make the investment if I can get what you use. I thank you so much. This journal is beautiful. You do beautiful work. Thanks. Barbara
Here's what I use from our shop: www.scrapbookingwithme.com/store/p12112/Bazzil_40lb_Translucent_Vellum_Paper_-_8.5%22X11%22_-_15_sheets_-_Heavy_Weight%2C_Great_for_Pockets.html#/
Very pretty book 👍🏻
Thank you! 🤗
Happy Birthday on the 12th!
Love this! What weight of vellum did you use?
40lb
Love it thank you make one
Thank you!
Where did you find the small sized punching cradle? I don't have room for one of the large regular size ones. Thank you 😊.
I don’t have a punching cradle in this video. I’m holding up the book and have just a piece of foam under it and then piercing the spine with my metal awl.
@@MelinaPylant Ok, thank you 😊.
Wish I had seen this video before I made mine.
💕💕💕
Hi Melina,
About the adhesive you used, the Barely Arts glue... How does that compare to Art Glitter Glue? I've used Art Glitter Glue and FabriTac to secure VELLUM pockets, and it does not glued for very long..
Is that a stronger adhesive?
Hi! They are a lot alike. The major difference is that the Bearly Arts adhesive doesn’t seize up like AGG does in cold temps. So the manufacturer can ship year round. No stocking up before cold weather hits. Other than that, not much difference. I may say that the Bearly dries a little faster and more clear, maybe but not enough to say I like one over the other.
@@MelinaPylant Thank you
😃
Is there a place to download a digital kit for the bird waltz??
No, not that I know of. That is from a company called Blue Fern. You could check their website for that info. 👍
Hi hun! When you cut on your trimmer start in the middle and you should not have that problem. Hope all is well with you and the family.
Thanks for that tip and thanks for watching!
This looks so easy... why do I feel like it's harder than it looks...? 🙃😁
The most time consuming part is cutting, folding and adhering the pockets. But it is so worth the time! I have enough room to store at least 1,000 die cuts! 😊
@@MelinaPylant Wow! I am so new to this... I have been learning by watching. I have been afraid to start anything. You and your mom have taught me so much. Now I need to sit down and do it. Lol I have been trying to gather materials to try my hand at what I have been watching. 😁
I’m wondering why you have put a 3/4 inch score on the sides of your vellum pockets but only a 1/4 inch score on the bottom of the pocket... Just curious about the thinking behind this... Thanks!
Hi Lynda! My thinking behind this is I need the "sandwich" on the sides for some of my die cut shapes. That 3/4" gives me a good hold on the edges if I need to tuck in a few pieces. The 1/4" on the bottom is because I just cannot stand having the "lip" of that flap gouge into my die cuts when placing them in the pocket. The less of a flap I have at the bottom, the less I have to deal with that. But having a small lip at the bottom gets me the security I need that my pocket isn't going to fall away if there's not a flap there. Ha Ha! I hope that helps.....and isn't as clear as mud! :) Thanks so much for watching!
I wounder if you could use wax paper?
Yes. I would double it up, like fold it over for each pocket. 🙂
I really need to make some ephemra journals to hold all my stuff!!! Thanks for the inspiration!!!!
You Need a BIGGER Paperclip 📎!🤣
Nawwwwww! 😂
