'Model AM'....You are showing some GREAT ideas and products..... I bumped into 'Quinta Studio' decals and was quite fascinated by them, but didn't see any YT vids on how to apply, what "extra stuff" I might need as a builder, and "just what do they look like" I do have a question, hope you can answer, but are these "decals" on a VERY Thin plastic sheet, are they textured some how, how do You think they make them 3D?? Could you Possibly score the decals on those Extreme Angles ( lap belts ). Colors look Real good, I'm thinking of getting a couple of sets for F-14 Tomcats when I stumbled upon that site. Thanks for the post! 👍👍👍
The Quinta details are on thin decal paper and they are very much 3D. They are very detailed but I have no idea how they are made - keep in mind, the 'glass' on the instruments is there too... very impressive products.
These look great. I love 3D resin decals for welds. My Eduard Mig 21 has some painted etch in the cockpit I believe...do you think that's good enough or should I look into getting one of these sets?
That depends on what you want. Eduard's painted photo etch is nice stuff and I would not replace it with any other PE. Now, a Quinta set would blow it out of the water with all the 3d switches, glass fronts on the instruments, etc. It is night and day different in terms of quality and fit. www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/details/qs/images/qs_qd48077_parts.jpg
There is a lot of raised detail so I can only imagine a wash would work well to accentuate the detail. I'd be careful around the glass faces though, I wouldn't want to ruin those
Nicely done with subtle background music.
Sweet! Awesome to see another Ottawa RUclipsr!.....great work

@@ModelAirplaneMaker I saw that set and a grey one. I have no idea which one is right for my version.
Very useful. Would PVA glue work instead of foil adhesive?
The adhesive was the recommendation from Quinta. The stuff is sticky! PVA could work too I think.
@@ModelAirplaneMaker thank you. I think so too.
Very nice. I have seen a few videos of these decals and ordered a set for an F 15E. Any idea how they'd respond to a wash?

I tried a wash...and some of
The coloring rubbed off
Seal them with a gloss coat to protect the colour, then they are perfectly safe for a wash
Would clear acrylic paint work instead of the glue?
It might - so long as it is "sticky" - the foil adhesive worked amazingly well
Why adding glue? Weird for decals. 🤔
Very cool. Maybe add a link next time?
Sorry - a link to what?
