Where is the beauty? To me these villages are ugly, crammed big apartment buildings, tiny streets. It's like few people live in their own home with a big yard for outdoor cooking, and privacy and plenty of nature. My yard in America ends in a forest. There are plenty of parks and nature trails in walking distance, and streets that are big enough for cars and emergency vehicles like fire engines and ambulances.

Well, beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder. Italian villages often embrace a different kind of charm - one that values history, compact living, and close-knit communities over sprawling suburban landscapes. Perhaps the appeal is not in the size of the streets or the yards but in the stories the stones tell and the centuries of history that resonate in each alley. Not everyone's cup of tea, certainly, but then again, not everyone has a forest in their backyard.
