One fact it´s that the old man (Jud) was played by Fred Gwynne, who also played Herman Munster in the Munsters (Gwynne size was 6´5´) . There is also a cameo of Stephen King, who wrote this book, (the priest in the film).
My sister, Rachel, made me watch this when I was a teen. Our home was in the country so she decided to turn the lights off. Needless to say, I would yell, “Rachel” in the creepy voice as payback 😂
In the book the animal type sounds near the burial ground was from a wendigo. A cannibal creature. That's why Gage and Church would bite and tear at living things.
1:05 That does sound like a fun job. 15:32 lol Good point. Never thought of that. 18:08 & 18:19 Yep, I know the feeling. She still creeps me out too. haha
The wendigo spirit uses the painting to torment Rachel with her guilty feelings about "letting" Zelda die. The boy in the painting, Zelda and Undead Gage are all wearing the same outfit. The Wendigo spirit can influence people. It makes the truckers drive faster on that part of the road, it influenced Judd to bury Church in the cursed burial ground. And then got into Lewis's head, making him bury Gage there. The reason Gage went to Judd's house was because he helped destroy undead Timmy Baterman. It was revenge. I saw this movie when I was kid and it's one of my favorites!
I would argue that, by the end, Louis is too broken by grief to care what happens to him. He rationalizes resurrecting Rachel, but he actually wants to die. We waits for her to come back to him with an apathetic demeanor and with resignation to his end.
The cat actor that was "put to sleep" was sedated, and the needle was fake. So, no kitties were harmed. That scene looked so real to me I had to look up how it was done.
I literally did the same thing when I saw Terrifier for the first time. 💀 I looked up to see if the actresses had done any work since that movie. Luckily, they had, so I knew they were okay 🤣 I know exactly how you feel 😅
At 15:00, that image you questioned springing up from the water is the Wendigo demon. Although not mentioned in this movie, It soured the Indian burial site and was talked about in the novel. That's what's possessing and reanimating the corpses of those who get buried there. The 2019 remake is not good, but Jud does discuss it with Louis in one particular scene.
Gage goes after Judd because he was already cursed for surviving the whole ordeal once before. They have to burn the whole house down because its cursed.
And b/c Judd had decided to set himself against the wendigo and stop Louis. He didn’t have any trouble when he took Louis up there the first time b:c he was working towards the wendigo’s goal.
The sad thing is that Rachel’s father was kinda right; about how she was going to have all the grief she could stand and more, considering how she ended due to Louis’ actions. And they burned the whole Baterman house down b/c the curse wasn’t just Timmy but Bill also, since he’d been up there to bury his son, he was also tainted by the ground. And no. Absolutely not. Under no circumstances. How do you take the death of a loved one, which is already horrible, and make it _worse??_ But she’s right, I’d move. B/c when that shit gets into you, you’d do it in _spite_ of all the reasons you KNOW it’s a bad idea.
😂🤣 This is my favorite reaction video on your channel. You have me here laughing so much my face hurts. That sister scene when she torments Rachel. That scene scares me so much. ❤❤❤ Smooches love you two!
It’s supposed to be a New England accent. The state of Maine. But he has something called Trans-Atlantic/Mid-Atlantic accent mixed into it. It’s that old timey actor way of speaking.
"Where were you when he was playing in the road!?" response "I tripped you dick" He should have never taken his eyes off that little boy, if he had been responsible and not looked away for so long, Gage would have lived. that child's death was entirely the fathers fault.
I love how Mary Lambert cast the absolute cutest kid in the world -- like the archetypal cute kid -- and then had him get hit by a truck and come back as a psychotic zombie killer armed with a scalpel.
This movie is so messed up. Gage gets killed and Rachel's father blames him, calling him a baby killer? He left a young child home with her severely sick sister. Who does that? In my opinion he has no right to talk!
This is my most favorite Stephen King novels and movies. I'm a HUGE fan of his. My youngest son, who is 18 yrs old is named Gage from the boy in the movie. Horror films have NEVER SCARED ME! The first horror movie I watched was either Jaws, Halloween, or Friday the 13th. None of them scared me. I have wanted to go on paranormal investigations for years. There are a few places off the top of my head that I would have my bag packed and be ready to go in 20 minutes and that's no lie. I have seen spirits when they have felt I needed to see or hear from them. My grandfather's both came to me. One came before and one after, but it was for me. Anytime anyone wants to have some company on an investigation let me know.

A grown man traumatized by Zelda lol. 😂 I’ve had years to process her and get over it so there’s hope.
I know right? I can’t handle her. You give me hope. Thank you Angel 😂

Stop reading crappy king books and watch the movie.. totally different story.

Yes - same reason they burned the Baterman's house.
The theme song is "Amityville Horror-ish."

I have a question to all Americans here in the comment section. The old bloke neighbor to the Creeds, where in USA do people have his accent?

@@TheRomansReact Thanks a million for your explanation. I was wondering why he spoke American with a British twang to it :)
