Great review. Baritone is my principal instrument in our band - The Grand Old Uke of York. I can highly recommend Worth clear baritone strings - a little more forgiving and less harsh than wound / metal strings. The Flight Uke sounds lovely. 👍
Thanks Sammy for the run through of the Iris Baritone. Great price and sounds really nice. Must remember………this is not a Comet 😂😂😂.The Aurora has such a lovely tone. Have a great week.
Wow, your playing is very smooth and melodic! I liked the Aurora the best. One thing I noticed was the scratching sounds when shifting position were very much muted or non existent on the Aurora. Was this due to the strings, the instrument itself, or the playing technique on a higher quality instrument?
Thank you and great question - it’s the strings, on the Aurora I’m using smoothwound gold uke logic strings, they’re a wound string smoothed over so that they make much much less noise.
Your pick solution is kinda genius. I suggest you patent your thumbpick idea and get a company to make and sell good quality products with your name on it.
Great review. Thank you for this. Really considering of buying the Iris Baritone. One thing though....is the blue pick guard removable, do youu think? I do not care for it that much.
Thanks! I’ve heard of people removing them, but I haven’t tried it myself - I imagine it’s just glued on but no idea what damage might happen if you try 🥲
Thanks for the review. The flight iris baritone from the video I had a little look at the back is there no strap button on the body where the neck begin. It does not look so but I am unsure if my eyes misse it
Because the scale is different the tension is higher, you can get strings that are specifically made for GCEA on a baritone, a normal set won’t work (especially your A)
Would you be able to do a comparision on the Aurora VS fireball I am still unsure on which to purchase. Price is a big point but I also want a great sound out of the instrument. I have bought instruments thinking only about the price and over time regret adding them to my collection.
I don’t own a Fireball baritone but would love to review one - when I do it’ll very much be vs the Aurora. I’ve played both, the Fireball is definitely worth the extra dollar, but the Aurora is a stunning baritone on its own.
@@4stringboy thank you so much. I have watched so many videos on the Aurora & Fireball the sound difference is minimal but the Fireball has def a sweater sound and very full. it is a hard choice.
great info... i'm looking for a baritone ukulele that has smaller nut and bridge string spacing (similar to a guitar, but even smaller). even though ukuleles are smaller instruments, the string spacing is greater than the average guitar.
That’s true, the string spacing on these kids is much greater. Have you looked at a tenor guitar? Similar size to a baritone uke but smaller string spacing and nut.
@@4stringboy I haven't checked out tenors yet... I like the tuning on the baritone uke (E, B, G, D)... I am going to look into the tenors. ...Thanks for the help!

This baritone sounds so lovely
Yep, it’s a real win for anyone who needs a cheap baritone
That's a really good sounding baritone! And even with the stock strings you get a really nice note definition and sustain.
I agree Jeroen, it’s a good sounding kid!

The Flight Uke sounds lovely. 👍
Big fan of Worth clears - will have to give the unwound thing a go!
I can listen to you play all day!
Nice uke, nice brand, nice player. 10/10 💯
Nice artist manager too!
Lovely playing
Thanks for the review. Helpful and informative.

Thanks Mike! Hahaha I’ll review the comet soon so then we’ll all be correct 😅
Now i know how but i'll try to master the harmonics thank u😊

For being laminate sides and back it sounds rather resonate. That's probably got a lot to do with the saddle and bridge. Inspired playing, friend.
Cheers Phil!
Full Flight Royal Series reviews in Tenor!
Oooo I like the challenge! I already own the Fireball and Nighthawk, I have one more review out next week but am then hoping to tackle the Comet ☄️
They are both beautiful sounding instruments, but the Aurora definitely sounds like the more expensive one.
I very much agree!
Do you play the baritone with the same finger positions as the tenor? It seems so.
Yep!

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I just have to try it (with care). In time I will let you know.
Cool - good luck!
Can you tune it to a normal uke tuning, like the tenor with accompanied strings.
You need specific strings to do that, but they do exist! As standard it’ll be DGBE and you can’t tune it to GCEA.
thats pretty :)
It’s not a phase mom

No strap button on the body, just the bottom!
@@4stringboy thanks. They really should consider this especially for tenor and up.
I put tenor strings on a baritone banjolele. Problem is the A first string breaks before I can tune it. Any suggestions
Thanks.

The second one sounded best

All the baritone tracks from my album were recorded on the Aurora - it’s a great uke.

What are you picking with?
It’s a felt pick held on to my thumb with a custom designed grip ☺️
How can you do this part can u pls teach me how? Pls send a link 0:07
That’s from my original track ‘Breeze’, it’s included in the VEJR tab book on my website 😇
@@4stringboy um I meant how did those strings make sound when u press on them

@@BeastModeMusic.Guitar 4stringboy meant you to have a look at the Tenor guitars, not to be confused with Tenor ukuleles which are different.
