This is one of my favourite mods that I’ve done! Not only does it work really well, it looks fantastic too and can be customised to you personal taste! 😃EDIT: Yes, it IS a toothpick. Google reusable toothpicks and you’ll see loads of different ones.
I'd love to see one built into a working pen (not a marker) or dog whistle. Something that can be carried covertly without people questioning what the thing on your keyring is.
This mod is brilliant, Lock Noob! I love when something can be repurpose to perform a task it wasn't originally intended to perform - especially if it can be repurposed for lock picking. Love your videos, so please keep posting!
Love to see ideas like these. Simple tools, simple materials, great result. Also, smaller and more covert compared to John and Martin's keyring pickset. Overall a greet idea.
Very cool Ash! You're absolutely right, the tinkering, modifying, and building are one of the best aspects of the hobby! Great work and thank you for sharing 👍 👍
Love the project. I am always looking for projects like this. Haven't been able to get around to do anything myself as of late but love to see it. If you grind down the sides of the "titanium" toothpick you end up with a nice "knife by-pass" tool or even easier with a "probe" I imagine... Maybe as an add on.
Well done! I wouldn't mind more vids of making or modifying picks. I have myself encountered that problem of things binding inside an enclosure. I have an electric pick (toothbrush mod) with a tension tool (bent wiper insert) I put in the battery compartment, but it twisted as I screwed it closed and is now digging into the cover, so I can't open the battery compartment again without destroying the cover. Live and learn.
Great idea. I get those pretty cheap on the Chinese sites. Thanks, Locknoob. I like how you get into a myriad of interesting and less known bypasses and tactics for opening locks. I've found myself buying locks that I've rarely seen, like dimple locks and old lever locks (curtained). I've only been picking for about six months, but I find myself hitting the upward curve. Thanks, you and a couple other guys have made this even more fun and interesting.
Yeah Nice and covert, I have some of those pretty useless credit card sets now it can be useful, agree nothing better than tinkering ones own pick tools and seeing them work.. Happy picking thanks Noob
Would be an excellent tool with a combination pick hook/rake if it would fit; though it seems small for most rakes. I may have to mod a couple, maybe a snake rake and standard hook. Always looking for a good EDC pick solution. Right now I just cut down 3 picks and a couple tension tools that fit in my Leatherman case but they’re just too short to be very effective. I usually have picks close at hand, like in my car/bag but something small like this seems like a good solution.
All of your DIY videos are absolute fire! Might add "lock pick DIY/making" into the titles so that they are easier to find. I Only stumbled across some of them after spending a few days going through your channel. And many of them did not come up under a " lock noob DIY lock pick" search query I Absolutely love your vids!
Really cool find and following build 👍👍 those quick and useful mods are awesome and how it looks int the end, just beautiful 😍 I always like to have my hobby on my Keychain. A glance at it during hard day of work and you are a little bit less stressed immediately 😉
Excellent project- love it!! I bought a few of these, a while ago, with view to thinning out the tip- to be used as a handy, padlock bypass tool. Unfortunately, the spike was way too soft and not fit for purpose. Guess I could use better steel..... could still work. 😉 Great tutorial and I'll be giving this a go, soon. Thanks very much and all the best. 😁🤘
Good idea. I’m always interested in keychain picks, but everything is usually too big to actually go on a keychain. I keep my keychains as small and light as possible. I have the Newton pick and it’s the best I’ve come across so far, but it is still a bit long for my keychain. But this looks perfect. Good job noob, might try it out.
I’ve been planning a hobby knife build like this eventually. Quite a few hobby knives have hollow handles that would be good for storing picks, rakes, and tensioners. May need to go into
I saw this video and just loved it. It’s a great idea. In fact it inspired me to try something myself. I have wanted to try one of those lock picking pens. You know where the lock pics fit in the handle and it’s actually looks like a pen it’s kind of covert looking but it’s $65.00 so I was looking for one of those James Bond credit card kits. I had an idea I found one on Amazon for like 14 Bucks Way too much. I’m kind of cheap so then I found one on Wish for $1.99 then I went and bought a X-Acto knife and cut the pics down to fit the knife. Turns out the knife handle is also hollow so then I just cut the James Bond pics down to fit the X-Acto knife, sanded them down and polished them and they actually worked pretty good. I’m kinda new. I’ve only been in the sport for about a year and a half but it was a lot of fun to make this set and I was surprised it actually works. It may not be as good as the covert pen but it’s cool. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration Lock noob. I’m going to make some toothpicks next.
Hi locknoob. Please tell us what is your three favourite picks for single pin picking so I can exactly but the same from uklocksport. I know one is the Peterson Gem
This toothpick looks perfect for attaching a multipick dimple pick tip, maybe with some epoxy to keep it in place. And if you apply the torque to the knurled part then it shouldn't unscrew when picking. Can you maybe try this?
awesome video! have you done/ would you consider doing a video on tools/kit you'd recommend for someone looking to get into making/modifying locksport tools?
That Is Genius Ash. Very Cool Idea. I’ve Got A Few Of These Chinese Reusable Toothpicks Myself & Use Them For Poking Small Things Like Electronics Etc. But That Is A Really Clever Idea That I’m Going To Have To Steal From You…!!!! LOL. I Just Hope That The Chinese Don’t Do The Same. Also I Love JB Weld But Have You Ever Tried Marine JB Weld? It’s Really Cool Stuff…!!!! Keep up the great work. Kind Regards Nicholas🧔🏽♂️😺, Lock Pick Nick,🧔🏽♂️🔐🔒🔓🔑🗝.
my broke and now i cant get it out maybe with more force? would be cool to buy this other part as a spare part to glue a new pick in but then i have to trow the other away
Brilliant use of materials to hand, only...well, it's an emergency holdout pick - wouldn't some kind of rake, rather than a hook, have been more useful to more people? A Bogota or city rake should be able to open the most common locks with neither too much trouble, nor too much skill.
cool little tool, but it looks like a smoking pipe, if the police seen it on me they would check it, i have been looking for these credit card lock picks without any luck, can you drop me the link to your one you help build. cheers.
Hi Mr Lick Noob I have a question for you I am a new lock picker but don't have a lot of money right now I wanted to see if you have any extra pick and tension tool just to help me out until I have money to get good ones please and thank you if you can't help I understand that
It is a machinist scratch awl not a tooth pick. Please don’t try picking your teeth with it, you will seriously hurt yourself. However, as a transformed lock pick, it is brilliant! Thanks for the idea. I will definitely make one too.
This is one of my favourite mods that I’ve done! Not only does it work really well, it looks fantastic too and can be customised to you personal taste! 😃EDIT: Yes, it IS a toothpick. Google reusable toothpicks and you’ll see loads of different ones.
They are also sold as cigar nubers
I have one, actually 2, the ones I have come in a set of 2, but mine are too short to use for anything but picking your teeth.
hey bud post where you got your
I'd love to see one built into a working pen (not a marker) or dog whistle. Something that can be carried covertly without people questioning what the thing on your keyring is.
I will be making my own for sure!!!
Nice little covert pick with its own tension tool. Great idea 🙂👍🏻
Thanks 🙏

That's a really nice tool with a brilliant design.
Thanks 🙏

Very resourceful, Ash. You have a very neat covert lockpick and tensioner there. Thank-you. 🙂👍
Brilliant bloke always
Cheers 🍻
the diverse ideas you come out with is very impressive. you should be in business for yourself .
Thanks 😊
Cool project. Well done.
Thanks 🙏
Love this mate :) Market that little bad boy😁
If I had the time 🙏
Very cool Ash! You're absolutely right, the tinkering, modifying, and building are one of the best aspects of the hobby! Great work and thank you for sharing 👍 👍

Very cool, nice job omn that!
Thanks 🙏
Brilliant! I'm sure the fact that it's brass only makes you like it that much more, lol.
Yes. Yes it does 😅
I've seen a lot of your work. I think this is a great idea and well played
Thanks 🙏

If you grind down the sides of the "titanium" toothpick you end up with a nice "knife by-pass" tool or even easier with a "probe" I imagine... Maybe as an add on.
Maybe if it’s strong enough
That is an awesome idea.
Thanks 🙏
Well done!

Yeah, unfortunately I had to cut the pick out of the first cover too
@@LockNoob if you're not making mistakes, you're not learning anything.

Great idea. 👏👏😎
Thanks 🙏
I think that hook is probably a more practical toothpick than the toothpick.
I can vouch for that - I use a lock pick for some hard to reach interdental spaces already 😆
Yeah!
Super cool!
Thanks 🙏
Fantastic idea ash mate works well looks awesome👍🇬🇧😎😊👊
Cheers Leon 😊
What a great little tool!!! 😀
Very well done!!!!
🐈🐾🐈⬛🐾🇬🇧🍻😀
Thanks 🙏
Pretty slick 👍 I really like this type of video
Thanks 😊
Nice Work.
Thanks 🙏
What a cool little hook! You should patent and sell those.
It also does double duty… as a toothpick…

I think there is room for some lower profile rakes for sure 👍

Eine sehr gute Idee!!! 👍👍👍
Nicely done
For me, it would be really neat to have one with a thicker diameter and a metal collet on the end to allow different tips.
For that I’d just go with the excellent Southord pen
I like it and am going to try it !!! Thanks 😊
Thanks 🙏
Awesome!

Great mod!!
Thanks 🙏
Very cool.
Thanks 🙏

Modding is great!
I´ve made a set of decoders/ bypass knives with these tooth picks
Cool! Do they work good?

Really cool tool
Thanks 🙏
I suspect that this mod probably makes for a better toothpick, too. At least it's not as pokey as the original. Thanks for the video.
Excellent project very cool now to send me some lol
Love it!
Thanks 🙏
Yay and yep like that alot 😀
Thanks 😊

Great mod. Do you suppose there is enough room in there for a low profile snake rake (my favorite "only one" pick).
Would you sell these?
If I had the time, but sadly I don’t
Not something that you would recommend to be carrying if stopped and searched however...
Great fettling tho. Bespoke toolmaking is so satisfying...
Yes. Always know the law where you are
my broke and now i cant get it out maybe with more force? would be cool to buy this other part as a spare part to glue a new pick in but then i have to trow the other away

Now the question is when did you plan to sell them? I'd love to get and Abona and Monith version for my EDC set \o/
Locknoob stabs self, giggles.. Conclusion.. Locknoib"s a kinky sub.. Nice little mod. :D
He's a lock picker. What did you expect?
Lol
I want one .. i would buy one really.. I'd also like one that's a snake. I think u found a new market for picks.
I would purchase this but I’m not gonna build one for myself. I don’t have the correct tools for the tooling part.
If money allows, I would highly recommend a rotary multi tool for any lock picking hobbyist
I think I will leave mine as a tooth pick on my key ring for now. I have better tools for locks in my edc bag, but nice idea
But have used it for lock related works in the past as the tooth pick. it is a great emergency probe
Jeeeeez!! A tooth pick!!! Blimey!!! You need teeth that are a few cm's apart.
Perfect for English teeth I suppose. 😂😂😂😂1
cool little tool, but it looks like a smoking pipe, if the police seen it on me they would check it, i have been looking for these credit card lock picks without any luck, can you drop me the link to your one you help build. cheers.
I just searched for reusable tooth pick on Amazon
@@LockNoob sorry i meant the credit card lock pick set, i cant find it on ebay.
That’s an awl, not a toothpick.
Hi Mr Lick Noob I have a question for you I am a new lock picker but don't have a lot of money right now I wanted to see if you have any extra pick and tension tool just to help me out until I have money to get good ones please and thank you if you can't help I understand that
Sorry, I get a lot of requests like this
Hope you’re selling this
Nice pick on the wrong key ring.
You won't see Mr Bond with normal keys.
An Aston's key looks a lot different.
It is a machinist scratch awl not a tooth pick. Please don’t try picking your teeth with it, you will seriously hurt yourself. However, as a transformed lock pick, it is brilliant! Thanks for the idea. I will definitely make one too.
What if my teeth are ceramic?
No. It’s a reusable toothpick. I don’t recommend people use them. But just Google it
