I like how both the Nuke and the Voodoo were mostly unknown cheap bats that weren’t guaranteed sweet 16 bats, (like the Victus Vandal for example), they started in the play in round for the sweet 16 and showed that they were ultimately indeed the best 1 piece bats.
Picking the Nuke as the winner. And I'm just basing it on the sound. Less "pingy" at least on video - not sure what its like in real person. And yes - that flip would have started a brawl - fur shur - as my wife says as a Minnesotan.
Every parent and player should watch these guys before purchasing ANY bat. Their evaluations on the bat bro scales are spot on and extremely helpful. Plus I can listen to the sounds of their dingers all day. Just bought my skinny contact hitter freshman son the Victus Vandal before this came out. About a year ago I bought a pair of thr Stinger Batting Gloves and I was a bit skeptical because of how small the company is, and they only cost about 20 dollars. They are by far thte best batting gloves I have ever used. Better than Nike, Franklin and any other gloves you can probably find. And if the Nuke is anything like their other products it is probably the best bat for the price. Small companies are on the come up and I can't wait for Stinger to get some mainstream success.
When you guys get the chance, Old Hickory makes bbcor bats. They have a 1 piece alloy and a 2 piece hybrid with alloy barrel. They are selling new on eBay for under $80, could be another Aero Burner situation.
Hey Bat Bros, I'm a sophomore in high school, I can hit the ball good with contact/power, I just need a wood bat with great pop, swing weight and that isn't too expensive since I live in Canada :)
That will make an interesting show down. Voodoo One has the swing weight, Nuke has the sweet spot. Both have juice, but the Nuke has the advantage there. What will be interesting to see is if the swing weight to pop ratio of the Voodoo One can overcome that. We all know you're big on that aspect. I dont think there will be a clean sweep in the final. One suggestion for the Bat Bro scale: Add a Cost or Value metric! We all know what the Meta is, and what it costs, but since most of us can't drop $500 on a bat, we have to figure out what we are willing to sacrifice, and it would be helpful to see bats that have similar attributes at half the price (i.e., Nuke, Voodoo One, Stringking, 5150...heck even the Boombah Cannon hybrid, if you can still get them on clearance). Adding the additional metric would punish the middle-of-the-pack bats that have exorbitant price tags (B5, Cat 8, Gattica, ADV, etc.) and reward the bats with strong performance and fair prices. Frankly, the 2021 The Goods is an example where the value equation steps down, because it performs the same as last year, but at a $50 price increase, because....well, just because. It would be nice to punish bats that just increase price with a new paint job that don't add any improvements.

Ok so I’m not sure if this is the right video but I feel like the voodoo one that you are swinging in this video is the perfect bar for me because I am a high school player with a decent amount of power but at the same time I am a little skinny and hit more for contact with the occasional bomb. However, my 12 year old son and I watch your videos for your expertise on the bats and wish you guys would have younger kids in your mix of batters demoing these bats. thanks a ton Ryan! I would actually suggest the opposite though. By having bigger stronger more experienced players, it's easier to see the performance difference in bats. We also have the background knowledge to talk about these bats in the context of past bats we've swung and a better understanding of what attributes actually matter in a bat. A lot of young players can tend to only care about pop, or only care about swing weight, or only care about it not stinging their hands - where we're trying to push kids to focus on a more wholistic view of bat performance.
