That IS metaphysics. We are so much and yet so little. The natural world is huge and small. What does it mean to be alive when we can be conscious and unconscious? If we are unconscious and are unaware of our surroundings we are breathing but share the same experience of death. Or to exist seems so trivial because our minds allow us to consider a debate for something about being alive and existing or to argue whether we are living as we live.

There are many who hide under complicated terms of which they created due to the simple fact of a lack of their own understanding which confuses and stops anyone else from understanding the basics of this universe. Find the origin of the definition and it will give you great understanding.

I was introduced to metaphysics at a young age and it made my day ro day life magical and very happy. Unfortunately as my brain grew older it was distracted and loss 4he belief of all magic. This is a well made video, I appreciate that. Thank you. So, in short metaphysics is the study of what is fundamental in reality, apparently... This gives me pause because it is nowadays pretty obvious that physics has been encountering such questions as well for a while now, and suffice it to say, metaphysics self-admittedly made no progress toward anwsering these questions, to the point of being somewhat at peace with the idea of never being able to answer them. And the hallmark of metaphysics is that it makes extensive use of armchair analytic, a priori reasoning. Meanwhile, physics does not have to be fed data in this strange ivory tower manner and can and will explore the emergent in order to comprehend its fundamental underpinnings, via observation _and_ theorizing. This means scientific reasoning is fundamentally synthetic, a posteriori reasoning. Contrasting those two approaches helps to highlight how metaphysics is in fact piggy backing on the scientific activity, not underpinning it, contrary to what those who held it as 'first knowledge' falsely believed. From this we can also make the inference that should metaphysics ever be effective, it stands to reason that it should incorporate scientificity, not reject it. Meanwhile, cosmology, psychology, and to an extent even 'theology' in Aristotle's sense have already been turned into scientific fields with great success. In many ways, we also have quantum physics to tackle the ontological question, though to no fundamental avail just yet. Nevertheless, it remains a very new field of study that still has much room to grow. In a classroom that you try to remember you won't remember random facts like 'these tiles are slightly bigger than these tiles' if you don't interact with them. You will remember the stairs, because you can walk on them, the door because you can open it and the things on the floor you can stumble over. You first see tool/obstacle and then later what it is objectively and as far as your neurochemistry is concerned that's more real than our objective representation of the world. If there is no time, there is no space and movement becomes automatically zero. I could never pin it down to anything but the study of the nature of things. I couldn't give a concrete example of what that means except maybe a focus on intuition and instincts. Instantiated is a good word.
i always taught metaphysics had somthing to do with how the invisible of energy materialized its nature in matter so that its energy and pattern transformed inorganic matter into life forms, and that substance was only a conductor of the invisibe and unexplainable.

Metaphysics as set theory I believe that Leibniz-Plato is not really philosophy, but mathematics. In fact, set theory. Unfortunately I am not a mathematician, and need some help. But here are some initial thoughts. In Leibniz, the physical object in spacetime is represented as a mental point called a monad. Mind is a formalization or form of mathematics in Plato-Leibniz. From set theory we find that a set is a collection of objects that it owns. This ownership I believe is what we call control, perception or creation. That is, a set controls the objects or sets within it hierarchically. Some of the properties of Metaphysics existed before the ancient Greeks. The ancient Indians practiced Renunciation and in that school of thought came about developments of examinations of various properties of Metaphysics. I am not convinced that the Greeks were influenced by Indian philosophy. Ancient egyptians also had geometric treaties that dealt with many aspects of Metaphysics but again I doubt that had little influence upon formalized Metaphysics developed aristotle.

Why would a species evolve in such a way, that it is able to think about why it exists, and come to a conclusion that its existence has no basic purpose ? Right, many of the concepts are inexpressible and inherently mystical. That's why they're called 'Mystery Schools' (I graduated from one). It's not expressible, but it is *experiential.* The best Mystery Schools don't attempt to directly give one a greater level of experience, but instead strive to reveal the inner tools to be able to derive experience (and therefore wisdom) from anything and nothing- existence itself. One has a hard time explaining experiences that transcend the mundane due to our known communicative abilities being strictly mundane/physical. It's not about measuring the quantifiable; that's what physics is for. That IS metaphysics. We are so much and yet so little. The natural world is huge and small. What does it mean to be alive when we can be conscious and unconscious? If we are unconscious and are unaware of our surroundings we are breathing but share the same experience of death. I was introduced to metaphysics at a young age and it made my day ro day life magical and very happy. Unfortunately as my brain grew older it was distracted and loss 4he belief of all magic. Now I'm near 50 and suffered a stroke three years ago. Ive gotten back into my metaphysical 4honkimg and beliefs ive regained that old happiness living in that magical world of manifestation, law of attraction and psychic abilities. Its like waking up and seeing thst dreams don't only happen while sleeping and that if i i let the universe what I want, the universe will provide it also both good and bad karma are real what you put out and do is returned to you 3x so put out good energy and you receive good energy

So, in short metaphysics is the study of what is fundamental in reality, apparently...
This gives me pause because it is nowadays pretty obvious that physics has been encountering such questions as well for a while now, and suffice it to say, metaphysics self-admittedly made no progress toward anwsering these questions, to the point of being somewhat at peace with the idea of never being able to answer them. And the hallmark of metaphysics is that it makes extensive use of armchair analytic, a priori reasoning.
Meanwhile, physics does not have to be fed data in this strange ivory tower manner and can and will explore the emergent in order to comprehend its fundamental underpinnings, via observation _and_ theorizing. This means scientific reasoning is fundamentally synthetic, a posteriori reasoning.
Contrasting those two approaches helps to highlight how metaphysics is in fact piggy backing on the scientific activity, not underpinning it, contrary to what those who held it as 'first knowledge' falsely believed. From this we can also make the inference that should metaphysics ever be effective, it stands to reason that it should incorporate scientificity, not reject it. Meanwhile, cosmology, psychology, and to an extent even 'theology' in Aristotle's sense have already been turned into scientific fields with great success. In many ways, we also have quantum physics to tackle the ontological question, though to no fundamental avail just yet. Nevertheless, it remains a very new field of study that still has much room to grow. With that being said, it seems to me that physics has already gobbled up and 'scientified' the field of metaphysics without having philosophers ever admitting that it had done so.

Plus, if it isn't using the new information that science is providing, what good metaphysics is for? Furthermore metaphysics studies 'what' things are; impossible for humans to know what reality is. We can only know how it behaves and it characteristics which are investigated by science. In a classroom that you try to remember you won't remember random facts like 'these tiles are slightly bigger than these tiles' if you don't interact with them. You will remember the stairs, because you can walk on them, the door because you can open it and the things on the floor you can stumble over. You first see tool/obstacle and then later what it is objectively and as far as your neurochemistry is concerned that's more real than our objective representation of the world. i always taught metaphysics had somthing to do with how the invisible of energy materialized its nature in matter so that its energy and pattern transformed inorganic matter into life forms, and that substance was only a conductor of the invisibe and unexplainable.

A quick understanding is that Metaphysics is related to Spirituality and the 'living' Philosophys, as against Theology out of which comes religous dogma and physics (or the desire to have a fixed view) check out - The Underworld, Middleworld and Overworld of the Nine Realms of Life
So correct me if I’m wrong...basically while the believer in Metaphysics sits there pondering if the muggers axe is actually real or only exists in his mind...he could actually be killed by the very same axe now embedded in his brain!

So, what is the answer of the question, why there is something rather than nothing?
In metaphysics we only look at predicaments/categories which can only be understood metaphysically. We do not look at action or passion for example, which relate to philosophy of life and of ethics, just as we also leave aside time and place... Indeed, what can being tell us about the time and place? Nothing ! Being is nowhere in particular, any more than it is late, on time or early: it is. Time and place therefore relate more to a philosophy of matter.
In reality, three predicaments (of substance-principle) interest us from a metaphysical point of view: relation, quality and quantity.

The answer to the 3 questions is one word. Choices. These philosophers lost themselves in their words, the key is sight. To see past the thin veil that hides the disappointing truth of a one word answer. Understand that, and you will see the stream of time fluidly. And most likely go mad upon the sight of the fractal.

Metaphysics as set theory
I believe that Leibniz-Plato is not really philosophy, but mathematics. In fact, set theory. Unfortunately I am not a mathematician, and need some help. But here are some initial thoughts.
In Leibniz, the physical object in spacetime is represented as a mental point called a monad. Mind is a formalization or form of mathematics in Plato-Leibniz. From set theory we find that a set is a collection of objects that it owns. This ownership I believe is what we call control, perception or creation. That is, a set controls the objects or sets within it hierarchically.
Using the notation < to mean is conceptually contained in (a sidewise U), M as plato's Mind (the One), T as the domain of time, and S as the domain of space, p as a particle is spacetime, and m(p) as its monad, we have the sets
m(p) < S < T < M
The motion of an object in spacetime begins with its birth as a still point in Plato's Mind. That is. as a point in the all-encompassing set of points, Plato's Mind, which is the point containing all other (mental) points. The mental is the mathematical, the formal in terms of set theory. Time and space are quantized, as is experience, so experience is given to us a set of movie frames that we expeience as a movie.

Some of the properties of Metaphysics existed before the ancient Greeks. The ancient Indians practiced Renunciation and in that school of thought came about developments of examinations of various properties of Metaphysics. I am not convinced that the Greeks were influenced by Indian philosophy.
Ancient egyptians also had geometric treaties that dealt with many aspects of Metaphysics but again I doubt that had little influence upon formalized Metaphysics developed aristotle.

You should do a series on Upanishads as it is a highly sophisticated account of metaphysics, perhaps more sophisticated than the Greek counterparts.

This is the irrational conclusion that can only follow the rejection of a personal, sentient Universal. As long as humans wrongly consider themselves autonomous, they will flounder in the void they created through faulty premises. In short, many are hypocrites. They claim there is no ultimate meaning but live every day as though there were. They claim autonomy but they cannot will themselves into or out of existence. They claim spiritual progress but stumble around, following emotions and conflicting with others. The truth is, the answers are already revealed, but many reject them because of their source. 1st. I am just trying to figure out in metaphysics and epistemology which means "truth" itself and which means "the study of the properties of truth". I hope it is metaphysics = study of truth because it had meta in it.

Right, many of the concepts are inexpressible and inherently mystical. That's why they're called 'Mystery Schools' (I graduated from one). It's not expressible, but it is *experiential.* The best Mystery Schools don't attempt to directly give one a greater level of experience, but instead strive to reveal the inner tools to be able to derive experience (and therefore wisdom) from anything and nothing- existence itself. One has a hard time explaining experiences that transcend the mundane due to our known communicative abilities being strictly mundane/physical. It's not about measuring the quantifiable; that's what physics is for. This is about developing one's relationship with Existence itself, along with those intagible forces that govern and/or influence reality.
{With Respect to the OGs} It should be said that before metaphysics (and to this day for people that subscribe to the differing schools of thought) this aspect of human experience was/is satisfied by more traditional spiritualities and their respective adaptations through the generations of our various tribal ancestors.

@@HanixXxA sit, breathe, relax, and listen. When one actively maintains the act of listening for long enough, staying silent, the world also goes silent. That's the deep meditative state. Just make sure not to fall asleep, which takes practice lol. After that though, things just come to you. Accept that as thoughts and feelings alone they can neither harm nor help you. Any power you give them beyond that is up to you. Stay blessed. 🙏🏼
