Problem when you get older buses is that parts become more and more scarce and a simple malfuction can write a bus off such as destination blinds. Buses in my local area are coming up 20 years old with some coming up to 1 million miles.
This excellent vid makes you realise just how realistic Mr Moose's fab Scunthorpe map is in OMSI. Ok so not every building and object is there, but it's totally recognisable. Especially the bus station and Ashby. 😎
the reason why scunthorpe have older buses and deports like worksop & gainsborough is under investment by stagecoach then selfs to update the fleet as the above deports have take handydowns from hull or other areas to make there fleets up
Worksop has a few old tridents including some with the old green dot matrix board but most compared to other branches of stagecoach east midlands are very new. But I do wish 1 or 2 vykings come to worksop at some point in the future. However if they do come to worksop will most likely not be on my local route as we always get e400s or tridents.
Northampton still predominantly use ALX400s on all their town routes and some express routes, and two Euro 2 tridents are at Arriva Luton too, its sad they will all be gone very soon!
Lovely B7 sounds! Would much rather travel on these old buses than a fleet of bland MMCs, Streetdecks and Streetlite's with gutless 4 cylinder engines. :)
JMB travel up in Scotland have loads ex stagecoach darts but also have a good number of ADL E200s oldest dart they have is a few ex Lothian ones 52 plates and one 53 plate
Nice. Did you know there's still a number of tridents running in Mansfield? When there's a non strike action day (around the end of October), why not visit there and see what's out.
@@AndMoreCentral Thanks, as I'm from near the area, I have the maps for the Mansfield network. I will say, good routes to check is on routes 11, 12 & 23. I will say that for sure, maybe the 28's and Prontos if you're very lucky.
well the only dennis dart buses there is in colchester we have SN54 HXB HXC HXF HXE and AY54 FRC SN54 FPZ we have about 6 dennis dart buses and 2 more have been transffered to run routes in around colchester and sometimes the 133 route.
No Matford is looking at replacing the KN04 tridents in Exeter with some of Barnstaple's Scania N230UD bodied enviro 400's and the KN04's will be running around Barnstaple due to Exeter wanting newer low emission fleet
@Chiltern Transport ProductionsMansfield do have fairly new single decker buses too as Mansfield Miller is popular too (wich uses 64 reg e300s). But most of the deckers there are ALX400S
I don't like our Darts at all, they rattle too much and not great Buses, the Vyking Deckers are good here in Scunthorpe but might slowly seen be replaced by Enviro 400 Decker Buses, we just has an Enviro 200 Dart transferred here from Lincoln which is 36058 which is far better in my opinion, the ex first group Bus is 21248 but been new to First Wigan as Fleet 69140, that is a good Wright Eclipse Bus with the old classic First interior, most Volvo Buses are good vehicles as I been on them all in Scunthorpe by now and I do like our Deckers now at the minute, some of our Pointer 2 Darts are not that great to ride on because they have some issues and problems our drivers had enough of them Buses, slowly we will be getting E200 Darts which run more smoother in the future for Scunthorpe, we need to lose the Ponnter 2 Darts just like you mentioned about Sheffield Buses also
I don`t know how Stagecoach gets away with it. I work in Scunthorpe as a driver, and so constantly see the amount of crap ( spent, carcinogenic hydrocarbons ) that comes out of every one of those buses every time the bus driver pushes the accelerator. How the hell do these buses pass their MOT Emissions Test ?
MOT emmisions standards are lower for older vehicles. So a 2020 built bus will have to meet much stricter levels that say one of these 2004 built buses.

we have to enjoy these before ulez kicks in across the rest of the uk
By then Electric would have taken over so Ulez wouldnt make much sense but I see what you mean
@@Matt-di6nb yeah true these alx’s and b7l’s would be finished in 5 years 🥺
Some of these where transfered from Skegness and they now work in scunthorpe. Sheffield have 1 or 2 darts but there rare to see.
Nice one!! Nice to see some ZF B7TL's with Stagecoach!
Oh aye they were beauties safe to say!
the reason why scunthorpe have older buses and deports like worksop & gainsborough is under investment by stagecoach then selfs to update the fleet as the above deports have take handydowns from hull or other areas to make there fleets up
Excellent video, I notice that even today on bustimes 3 of these are still in service on the same or similar routes !

The viking with a B7TL engine B7TL is a very old engine

Stagecoach Scunthorpe has always been the place of hand me downs.
Fair doos aha
And Hull 😅
I agree 💯% I live in London we seem like everyother major city get the new buses then they get shifted around.
ELC became part of Optare in around 2008
we in northamptionshire still have lots of 04 plate tridents and omnidekkas
16936 SP05FKK is the only Vykin running around in service in the Stagecoach east Scotland fleet out of Arbroath depot
JMB travel up in Scotland have loads ex stagecoach darts but also have a good number of ADL E200s oldest dart they have is a few ex Lothian ones 52 plates and one 53 plate
Aye I went on their old Lothian darts a few years ago and they were lovely
Not as many of these trundle around scunthorpe any more. Only a few left on bus times that have been used since the 4th of november.
Hmm its a shame thats the case, must have gone just before a lot of them broke
What is your favourite bus station you have been to
Nice. Did you know there's still a number of tridents running in Mansfield? When there's a non strike action day (around the end of October), why not visit there and see what's out.
Thank you and aye they do often pop up on the 53 in Sheffield. I do hope to visit Mansfield for a network review once strike action has calmed down

Ah fair doos thank you
I'm from Skegness and Im glad to say that the darts just came back to Skegness I would love to see the vikings back in Skegness I've missed those
Yes I agree with u their I'm from Skegness is well
I've enjoyed this video. The newest buses in the scunthorpe fleet are the 67 Reg mmcs 200s for the Humber fast cat service with one spare.
Thank you I'm glad you liked it and yes that is correct
No longer a spare. Was taken out of the reserve fleet to fill in the duties for the 35 service.

Ah very nice, may not be many but still good to have some older buses running around
Can you tell me old stagecoach bus fleet number?
Gainsborough surely has to be a close second for having the oldest buses in the East Midlands fleet.
I wonder if these will get transferred to Exeter one day!

@Chiltern Transport Productions yeah so that matford gets newer fleet
@@dennistrident981 What buses are getting transfered?
bruh they engine swapped the first bus u rode on, sounds like an alx400
Scunthorpe in real life is weird to look at...
Aye I did think that too!
This is not true, stagecoach fife have 2003 ALX's still in service
Bluebird have two 2000 ones (ex dublins)
@@fin57 And Exeter has 2004 ones!
SSW still have a 2002 trident on open top services 95 and 222
@@dennistrident981 were talking b7tls, they have 1998 trident open tops aswell
put subtitles on and Scunthorpe becomes ‘scumfat’, ‘scumfal’ and ‘scum farp’ 🤣

Lets see what happens with them seeing as National express wants to combine with stagecoach
Very true
16931 and 16932 are both at chichester
Ah very nice!
If Ryphoo put the T InbBriran. Who Put the... Old Volvoe in Scunthorpe 😂
Nice.
Thank you!
I saw a East Yorkshire bus in the video
Aye you will do as they pop in on the 360/361 and have a single duty on the 350 service

Aye the emissions side of things and 'clag' is a common trait of older B7TLs, many in Leeds are much worse than those I saw in Scunthorpe

When’s the next omsi video?
I am planning to now implement OMSI videos in at least once every 2 weeks inbetween other content
