My point of view in buy house & put it on rent so this is asset but if you buy home & you go & live in your house paying emi's so it's not an asset its a liability

50,000 per month means 6 lakh per year and 50 lakhs house is more than 8 times of his yearly income. Buying that house would be a bad decision. Your house purchase should not be more than 4 or 5 times of current year's annual income, that way it makes sense to buy. Until you don't pay out the EMI or loan taken to purchase that house, it will be a liability of yours.
50lakh means he will pay down payment min 10lakh, meaning EMI will be on 40 lakh coming around 38k, if no other income he can't buy. But if wife earns then he will be able to buy it
