In Mafia 2 you can feel the characters.. You fall in love with them.. It's like watching a movie.. I swear sometimes i wish i can be there with them and hang out with Joe and Vito.. Haha

Not only that, but the gang warfare is completely open, it should take a week at tops to take down the Falcone family. There are very few cases of crime families committing mass shootings, it caused too much attention. The most they'd get involved in is assassinations. Not shooting your way through the entire city. It also tends to be a lot more brutal, most likely brutal enough to make someone like you (a gamer with no actual experience with anything in real life thinking the game he plays is how it actually is) piss his pants and start crying like a little girl.

In Mafia III Vito says Joe was killed, but it's not true. You can even see Joe Barbaro in Mafia III. I don't know what so horrible he did to deserve to be in this game.

I agree 2 is so much better than 3 ever could be. But the first bit on this video was not fair. You compared a scripted scene in Mafia 2 (when Vito comes home) to generic walking around in Mafia 3. A fair comparison would have been either comparing the same scene in Mafia 2 to the Mardi Gras bit in Mafia 3 (still lackluster compared to Mafia 2) OR compared walking around clips of both games.. The way its set up now makes the video come off extremely biased from the start. Just a friendly tip :) keep the videos coming :D

I don't really care what anyone else says, but Mafia II's story is so fucking good, its movie like. Every character was truly developed, and it made them unique. It's such a story driven game, and story driven games like The Last of Us, and Uncharted are really good. But then Mafia 3 just kills the whole Mafia vibe (they should call it Mob cause it nothing about the Mafia) and they just throw out the last two games. Just some random documentary about some random bad ass black guy. And the main character is pretty badass, but so boring. Vito had a life, like in the cut scenes he would flirt with girls, bring over prostitutes, and was pretty comical and funny at the right times. But then Lincoln's is just kill, watch my friends get killed, get mad, kill some more, kill a bit more, watch associates cry and be babies. They pulled a saints row, and they completely killed Vito's story and character. I wanna forget Mafia 3 so I can go back and wish, then get something good... And the graphics suck. But, its fun for a little while. I'm just sad the good old story of Vito and Joe has been fucked in the asshole. Infact the good old story of the Mafia has been fucked in the asshole, with no lube.

My biggest complaint with Mafia 3(which is a common complaint) is that it is SO DAMN REPETITIVE! And honestly that wouldn't be the worst thing if the game was just sooo fun that I wouldn't even care about it being repetitive, but it wasn't. I'm a gamer that cares more about actual gameplay then graphics/story etc. Like a game can have a shitty ass story but if it was fun as hell to play then I would rate it high. An example would be Star Ocean 4 for the PS3. Forgettable story with terrible voice acting, but damn did I have a blast with the game cause the gameplay was excellent(IMO) so I'd give Star Ocean 4 a 9.5/10, it was honestly one of the most enjoyable games for me on the PS3. Now what does this have to do with Mafia 3 for me personally at least? Well, Mafia 3's story was good. The game looked pretty nice as well, but the gameplay was decent AT BEST. I mean it was fun for a couple hours killing motherfuckers lol but literally every mission in the entire game more or less is the same exact thing. So because of that I'd give Mafia 3 a 6.5/10. Because I did enjoy it, but only for a short while, and no matter how good a story is in a video game, If I'm not having fun playing it then my overall experience with the game drops immensely. I would never go through this game again, once was enough. Edit: And just to make this clear, I do care about stories in video games, all I was saying is that what I care about the MOST by far is the actual gameplay.

I agree with all those things you said but they are small problems. The biggest problem of the game, beside glitches ofc, is that the game is so repetitive. It's boring! Cut scenes are great, story is not bad tho.
Don't forget the mirrors. In Mafia 2, the mirrors work. In Mafia 3, the mirrors don't work for shit and stretch out the characters. The game also doesn't give you enough to do. Sure it gives you a bunch of repetitive shit, but after you beat it, there is nothing! In Mafia 2 there was replay value, good character development, and high-octane gang rivalry in the streets!
Lol no, mafia 2 was shorter I looked at the % when I played it worried about finishing the game so early and it was 60. I was like oh okay I have at leas 5 more missions or so, cool. The next mission was the final and it surprised me :/

There are always more than enough people who pre order games and blindly trust those trailers sadly. If we would stop doing that, they will make GOOD games again. Since everything is about money. No sales = they will listen to the customers demand. Good marketing = good sales, doesn't matter if the game is actually good.

Reading these comments you can tell why the fuck the developers just don't gave a shit about details in Mafia 3. People really don't give a fuck about their money anymore FUCKINGS 2016, and people just don't understand that videogame are more than graphics like wtf, games with a stupid IA, dead scenarios, and lazy and repetitive world of missions.
The "It's the current year" argument doesn't work, but with the exception of that I agree. Even the graphics in this game managed to get a bit fucked somehow lol
Calipto why doesnt that work? It's 2016 and the A.I., attention to detail, as well as design choices in game should all be improved upon from prior years. Yet sadly in all too many games do we see developers going backwards with immersion, a.i., and the amount of care put into games. We even are still stuck playing games at 30 fps even though that was the standard 15 years ago and technology is supposed to have improved way beyond that by now.
Developers do it for money now, and not making a good memorable game. They hop on on major game titles and expect people to throw their money even before the game is finished. Well, they are doing a good job at it because people are idiots. Pre-ordering a game is now a sickness in the gaming industry, even DLCs are now bearable.

I feel this is just a bit unfair at certain points. I agree with u about 90% but things like not being able to customize your car is inaccurate. Yeah mafia 2 had a WAY better customization garage, but mafia 3 does have some cool stuff like ordering back up, bribing cops without getting out of your car, having a car delivered, having guns delivered etc. so Mafia 2 is FAR FAR FAR SUPERIOR than 3, but i’d say if Mafia 2 is a 10/10 i’d give Mafia 3 a 7/10

You don't get the fucking point, dumbasses. It's the details that are important. Not just the base of the game. If you have two brain cells active then you would say that Mafia 3 is a disaster comparing to Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven and Mafia II. He's pointing out somethings I can agree with. For example the driving, the fact you can't interact with cars at any sort. But he forgot to mention the unrealism compared to other Mafia games, the story, the feeling of the game, the repeating missions... And you have to note that Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven was made in 2003 by 20 people in Czech Republic and Mafia II was made in 2010 in Czech Republic aswell and they are more detailed and more realistic than a fucking 2016 American game.
Over all quality of Mafia 3 is not finished, is not even good for Beta, there is no interesting linear story and you surrounding and people feels fake. Mafia 2 is finished game, lets you interact with things, has good story, it is fun to shoot. . .
Its funny how old unfinished Mafia II game looks soo much better and advanced that new shitty Mafia III, Mafia III doesn't feel like mafia game, its crappy stealth copy, paste mission game.. That's all to it.. So much repetition and they removed so many features.. Not sure if I would pay 30$ for the game..

Mafia I had both story and free-roam elements. It was great. Mafia II had great story but was limited and unfinished. Mafia II was way ahead of Mafia III even though it was unfinished. In Mafia AI feels live, they are doing stuff.. Mafia III AI are dumb fucks and everything feels empty and repetitive, like game is in early alpha..
Mafia 2 - Character Customization on launch, with more in small DLC packs. Mafia 3 - added after update, more coming with DLC Mafia 2 - variety of useless things to interact with to make the world feel more alive. Mafia 3 - ........ Mafia 2 - Cops would fine, they would arrest you (you could bribe them), or they would kill you. Mafia 3 - they can only kill you. Mafia 2 - Pretty decent car customization with paints, liveries, wheels, plates, and engine upgrades. Mafia 3 - Locked behind an upgrade menu, and there is no personal touch, its just *poof* you have an intake sticking out your hood now. Mafia 2 - Cars had realistic damage. Mafia 3 - Cars are pretty solid and take little damage unless you full on crash them. Mafia 2 - Driving fast and crashing would kill you. Mafia 3 - Driving really fast and hitting a wall head on will kill you.

Mafia 3 is a really fun game in my opinion! The setting, the story, the graphics are quite impressive but that's just me. I have no idea why this guy is complaining about animations and AI... Like you wanna go open a trunk and open doors, just go outside man and go interact with real people so you can have that human interaction, and go turn your sink on and off if you want that. Yes, you can turn water on and flush and... but how often did you do it in M2 ? I did it once and then I thought: why do they implement it, when it makes no sense ?! Don't get me wrong, M2 is better inmany things, but M3 isn't all bad like that. If you follow the main story and don't mess with repeating sidequests its good anf fun to play.

I played mafia 1&2. Loved them. Reserved mafia 3 and bought it the first day. The story is compelling and intense. The game play is mild for a normal game but for mafia it stinks!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I just want to say this. I had such high hopes for Mafia 3. Now I will not say it's a bad game overall because it is not. However, I am personally fond of Mafia 2, It is my favorite of the series. Now I personally enjoy the "sight seeing" aspect of Mafia3 as far as buildings and greenery go. What I do truly despise about this game is the fact that combat mechanics become redundant after a while (as with most games) however these were particularly excruciating.
simple minded people will most likely appreciate mafia 3 more just because of more weapons and weapon customization. mafia 3 was the most repetitive piece of shit and i realized it early. storyline was interesting at the start then just got old and boring after a couple of hours of gameplay. mafia 2 grabbed ur attention and kept it by consistently surprising the gamer. you pointed out the rest in this vid.
Pepsi J Right. Mission after mission was exciting in Mafia 2 and if it wasn't exciting it was it least unique. Mafia 3 was literally about going to the rackets and destroying all their stuff and killing enemies. There were less than 10 good missions in Mafia 3. Mafia 2 was always fun. There's a reason it's my favorite story based game of all time.

well I partly agree with the video, but 1. you showed mafia 2 prologue, and open world footage from 3 2. I don't think you need to close doors, I mean it would be great but you don't really pay attention when playing. I'll agree with that part: the mirrors in Mafia 3 were horrendous. Your image in the mirror either kept freezing while you were moving in real life, or the image was extremely distorted and not clear at all like it was in Mafia 2!
@@sethgyellins the fact you can flush a toilet. They pretty much added animations everywhere in the game, while mafia 3 cuts down atleast half of the content in mafia 1&2. It's like the toilets in Fallout. Yeah, its completely useless, but its fun to do.
Mafia 1 was like the Witcher 3 of its day. It had so many things right. You can ride the cable cars, the AI was intelligent, story was insanely good, each mission was very unique and memorable, the immersion was incredibly well-done. And guess what, you can punch the car with your fists, and it will dent up realistically. I played Mafia 2, and was so disappointed, because it left so many things out. Then there's Mafia 3, which is pure trash, and now I'm back playing Mafia 2 just for nostalgia's sake.

The reason Mafia 2 looks so alive is because that's part of a mission right at the beginning of the game where as in mafia 3 that was just going around the open world

I agree 2 is so much better than 3 ever could be. But the first bit on this video was not fair. You compared a scripted scene in Mafia 2 (when Vito comes home) to generic walking around in Mafia 3. A fair comparison would have been either comparing the same scene in Mafia 2 to the Mardi Gras bit in Mafia 3 (still lackluster compared to Mafia 2) OR compared walking around clips of both games.. The way its set up now makes the video come off extremely biased from the start. Just a friendly tip :) keep the videos coming :D

I don't really care what anyone else says, but Mafia II's story is so fucking good, its movie like. Every character was truly developed, and it made them unique. It's such a story driven game, and story driven games like The Last of Us, and Uncharted are really good. But then Mafia 3 just kills the whole Mafia vibe (they should call it Mob cause it nothing about the Mafia) and they just throw out the last two games. Just some random documentary about some random bad ass black guy. And the main character is pretty badass, but so boring. Vito had a life, like in the cut scenes he would flirt with girls, bring over prostitutes, and was pretty comical and funny at the right times. But then Lincoln's is just kill, watch my friends get killed, get mad, kill some more, kill a bit more, watch associates cry and be babies. They pulled a saints row, and they completely killed Vito's story and character. I wanna forget Mafia 3 so I can go back and wish, then get something good... And the graphics suck.
But, its fun for a little while. I'm just sad the good old story of Vito and Joe has been fucked in the asshole. Infact the good old story of the Mafia has been fucked in the asshole, with no lube.

My biggest complaint with Mafia 3(which is a common complaint) is that it is SO DAMN REPETITIVE! And honestly that wouldn't be the worst thing if the game was just sooo fun that I wouldn't even care about it being repetitive, but it wasn't. I'm a gamer that cares more about actual gameplay then graphics/story etc. Like a game can have a shitty ass story but if it was fun as hell to play then I would rate it high. An example would be Star Ocean 4 for the PS3. Forgettable story with terrible voice acting, but damn did I have a blast with the game cause the gameplay was excellent(IMO) so I'd give Star Ocean 4 a 9.5/10, it was honestly one of the most enjoyable games for me on the PS3. Now what does this have to do with Mafia 3 for me personally at least? Well, Mafia 3's story was good. The game looked pretty nice as well, but the gameplay was decent AT BEST. I mean it was fun for a couple hours killing motherfuckers lol but literally every mission in the entire game more or less is the same exact thing. So because of that I'd give Mafia 3 a 6.5/10. Because I did enjoy it, but only for a short while, and no matter how good a story is in a video game, If I'm not having fun playing it then my overall experience with the game drops immensely. I would never go through this game again, once was enough.
Edit: And just to make this clear, I do care about stories in video games, all I was saying is that what I care about the MOST by far is the actual gameplay.

I agree with all those things you said but they are small problems. The biggest problem of the game, beside glitches ofc, is that the game is so repetitive. It's boring! Cut scenes are great, story is not bad tho.
Don't forget the mirrors. In Mafia 2, the mirrors work. In Mafia 3, the mirrors don't work for shit and stretch out the characters. The game also doesn't give you enough to do. Sure it gives you a bunch of repetitive shit, but after you beat it, there is nothing! In Mafia 2 there was replay value, good character development, and high-octane gang rivalry in the streets!

Yet sadly in all too many games do we see developers going backwards with immersion, a.i., and the amount of care put into games. We even are still stuck playing games at 30 fps even though that was the standard 15 years ago and technology is supposed to have improved way beyond that by now.
Developers do it for money now, and not making a good memorable game. They hop on on major game titles and expect people to throw their money even before the game is finished. Well, they are doing a good job at it because people are idiots. Pre-ordering a game is now a sickness in the gaming industry, even DLCs are now bearable.

I feel this is just a bit unfair at certain points. I agree with u about 90% but things like not being able to customize your car is inaccurate. Yeah mafia 2 had a WAY better customization garage, but mafia 3 does have some cool stuff like ordering back up, bribing cops without getting out of your car, having a car delivered, having guns delivered etc. so Mafia 2 is FAR FAR FAR SUPERIOR than 3, but i’d say if Mafia 2 is a 10/10 i’d give Mafia 3 a 7/10

You don't get the fucking point, dumbasses. It's the details that are important. Not just the base of the game. If you have two brain cells active then you would say that Mafia 3 is a disaster comparing to Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven and Mafia II. He's pointing out somethings I can agree with. For example the driving, the fact you can't interact with cars at any sort. But he forgot to mention the unrealism compared to other Mafia games, the story, the feeling of the game, the repeating missions... And you have to note that Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven was made in 2003 by 20 people in Czech Republic and Mafia II was made in 2010 in Czech Republic aswell and they are more detailed and more realistic than a fucking 2016 American game.

Mafia 3 killed my favorite game franchise.
Its funny how old unfinished Mafia II game looks soo much better and advanced that new shitty Mafia III, Mafia III doesn't feel like mafia game, its crappy stealth copy, paste mission game.. That's all to it.. So much repetition and they removed so many features.. Not sure if I would pay 30$ for the game..

Mafia I had both story and free-roam elements. It was great. Mafia II had great story but was limited and unfinished. Mafia II was way ahead of Mafia III even though it was unfinished. In Mafia AI feels live, they are doing stuff.. Mafia III AI are dumb fucks and everything feels empty and repetitive, like game is in early alpha..
If it wasn't a "mafia" game it would be pretty good but because it has a mafia title it's so mediocre

Mafia 2 - Cops would fine, they would arrest you (you could bribe them), or they would kill you. Mafia 3 - they can only kill you.
Mafia 2 - Pretty decent car customization with paints, liveries, wheels, plates, and engine upgrades. Mafia 3 - Locked behind an upgrade menu, and there is no personal touch, its just *poof* you have an intake sticking out your hood now.
Mafia 2 - Cars had realistic damage. Mafia 3 - Cars are pretty solid and take little damage unless you full on crash them.
Mafia 2 - Driving fast and crashing would kill you. Mafia 3 - Driving really fast and hitting a wall head on will kill you.

Mafia 1's wanted system was better than both since you could actually get arrested while in Mafia 2, you can only bride'em or they'll shoot you dead.

Yeah mafia 1 and 2 was developed by 2k czech, altho at the time they developed Mafia 1 they had a different name. And mafia 3 is made by some other 2k studio
Actually there were a few things like some cut scenes made in the Czech Republic, but most of the game is US garbage.

Mafia 3 is a really fun game in my opinion! The setting, the story, the graphics are quite impressive but that's just me. I have no idea why this guy is complaining about animations and AI... Like you wanna go open a trunk and open doors, just go outside man and go interact with real people so you can have that human interaction, and go turn your sink on and off if you want that. Otherwise see mafia 3 for the cool story and amazing cutscenes that it has, not the fact you can't close a door... Smh at this "review?"

Don't get me wrong, M2 is better inmany things, but M3 isn't all bad like that. If you follow the main story and don't mess with repeating sidequests its good anf fun to play.
Agree. It`s sometimes better to go for a story without doing side activities as it ruins the flow. I`d better have 6 hours of story, action and pace intensive experience rather then 30 hours of side activities crap.
Mafia 3 is really repetitive, Mafia 2 was too but at least there were this little things to spice it up.

I played mafia 1&2. Loved them. Reserved mafia 3 and bought it the first day. The story is compelling and intense. The game play is mild for a normal game but for mafia it stinks!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭

I just want to say this. I had such high hopes for Mafia 3. Now I will not say it's a bad game overall because it is not. However, I am personally fond of Mafia 2, It is my favorite of the series. Now I personally enjoy the "sight seeing" aspect of Mafia3 as far as buildings and greenery go. What I do truly despise about this game is the fact that combat mechanics become redundant after a while (as with most games) however these were particularly excruciating.
simple minded people will most likely appreciate mafia 3 more just because of more weapons and weapon customization. mafia 3 was the most repetitive piece of shit and i realized it early. storyline was interesting at the start then just got old and boring after a couple of hours of gameplay. mafia 2 grabbed ur attention and kept it by consistently surprising the gamer. you pointed out the rest in this vid.

Pepsi J Right. Mission after mission was exciting in Mafia 2 and if it wasn't exciting it was it least unique. Mafia 3 was literally about going to the rackets and destroying all their stuff and killing enemies. There were less than 10 good missions in Mafia 3. Mafia 2 was always fun. There's a reason it's my favorite story based game of all time.

The AI in Mafia 3 is terrible, but w/ that said, I enjoyed the game very much. Excellent story, phenomenal voice acting.

1. you showed mafia 2 prologue, and open world footage from 3
2. I don't think you need to close doors, I mean it would be great but you don't really pay attention when playing.
Mafia 2 wins but it's nice to see something new with freeroam, and a storyline that lasts longer than a few days to play through.

THE worst of all is, the mirror in cars and in houses. Mafia 2: You can see your charakter. Mafia 3: EVERYTHING IS BUGGED AND HAS NO TEXTURES OR ANIMATIONS.
I'll agree with that part: the mirrors in Mafia 3 were horrendous. Your image in the mirror either kept freezing while you were moving in real life, or the image was extremely distorted and not clear at all like it was in Mafia 2!

@@sethgyellins the fact you can flush a toilet. They pretty much added animations everywhere in the game, while mafia 3 cuts down atleast half of the content in mafia 1&2. It's like the toilets in Fallout. Yeah, its completely useless, but its fun to do.

Mafia 1 was like the Witcher 3 of its day. It had so many things right. You can ride the cable cars, the AI was intelligent, story was insanely good, each mission was very unique and memorable, the immersion was incredibly well-done. And guess what, you can punch the car with your fists, and it will dent up realistically.
I played Mafia 2, and was so disappointed, because it left so many things out. Then there's Mafia 3, which is pure trash, and now I'm back playing Mafia 2 just for nostalgia's sake.
Need to make a mafia 4 and change things and make it kinda like mafia 2!
