    Hey, Eric:
First. The audio seemed focused only on one channel, the left ear.
Is there a way to make your audio stereo?
Without necessarily buying some fancy stereo microphone device?
    Anyway.
Now to my Chemex related questions.
Isn't the Chemex brewer just a variation on the pour over drip coffee method?
I mean, obviously it's designed for more than one cup at a time, definitely a slight advantage if you drink more than one cup at a time, which, I do, when I'm drinking coffee regularly, since most pour over systems are only designed for one or two cups.
And it's nice that it's glass for the pour over brewing part, rather than the harder plastic that most pour over filtering systems seem to feature these days.
    But I'm curious.
Why is a Chemex better than, say, a French press coffee brewer, or maker?
And how truly different is a pour over device like a Chemex from your regular drip brew coffee maker?
And can I brew my hot water in my coffee maker, or is it better to buy myself a tea pot to boil water on my stove, and then do the whole pour over thing?
    But, all that being said?
It looks like a really lovely coffee brewing device.
I just have a hard time with the concept of standing over the device while it brews because my knees are so jacked up I can't stand for long periods anymore.
The drip brew coffee makers are basically set it and forget it.
Although, I suppose I could use the Chemex at my little breakfast table, and could sit and monitor it that way.
But, what makes the Chemex better than a French press, other than not having to press the coffee down to the bottom of the French press?
Looking forward to seeing how the two parts come apart so you can pour the coffee, or do you not remove the top half?
You just remove and dispose of the filter and coffee, then pour through that?
And good grief that big folded filter thing looks like it would filter way too much coffee, unlike a cone shaped coffee filter, or even a regular Mr. Coffee flat bottom filter, like many coffee brewers, like my current brewer, use.
But does a cone filter work with the Chemex?
You need the big folded filter like that one?
Just seems like it would filter way too much.
And the right stereo audio channel returned at the end, and was there when you did the coffee cup pour from the Chemex.
But it seems like maybe your little clip on microphone is only monaural, or a single audio channel?
    I don't know.
That Chemex looks rather more involved than either a regular drip brew coffee maker or even a French press coffee brewing device.
    Maybe too fancy for me...😕
And I use a coffee scoop for measuring my coffee grounds.
2 tablespoons, and I do each scoop slightly rounded.
    Very slightly.
So with the Chemex, how many 2 tablespoon scoops would that require?
I do like the idea of a free bag of that Ethiopian Yirgacheffe light roast coffee, with purchase of a Chemex coffee brewing device.
But would that free bag be enough motivation to spring for a Chemex coffee brewer?
    Hm.
(While I tend to prefer medium to dark roasts, the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is an excellent single origin coffee, light or medium roasted.
Lighter roasts do allow less caffeine to burn off in the roasting process than medium or dark roasts, however.
    So there is that.)

Just curious--how much water do you use when brewing 60g of coffee?

To not ever microwave my coffee??? ...but ...James ....Hoffmann... he told me to do so!...

Key point - James recommends you microwave your coffee BEANS... not your brewed coffee. I might agree with him on that - haven't tested it. But I think we'd both agree you don't want to microwave your brewed coffee.

@@Freshgroundroast could you please explain us the reason about that?
